Well it looks like the fairest slot tourneys on the net are following the MGS lead and turning them into "deepest pocket wins" competitions......

R.I.P. Slot tourneys that the average player can win.

I agree, I hate to see it.
On the other hand I have never paid a cent for a tourney anywhere ever so it doesn't bother me that much;)

WHY OH WHY????!!!

To make money, Nifty. Back when I was playing live poker, I HATED rebuys and add-ons because I knew it was a trick to get more rake and was promoting bad plays. Now you don't have to worry about bad plays with slots, but it's still an old trick to make more money.

I agree Nifty! I use to play the tournies at CW but no more. I hate, hate, hate rebuys. It was hard enough placing in the regular ones. Same goes for poker. I use to play a lot of poker tournies, now they are almost all rebuys and satellites.

Just ruins it!

On the plus side they have spiced it up but including a greater variety of slots like T-rex but the 99 add-ons really puts off a lot of players. Iunderstand the need to balance the books but surely the attraction would be greater if there were a max of say 10 or 20 add-ons which would be within the budget of more players. This would in turn curry favour with everyone who feel its a more even playing field and the tournies will have lots more participants. Frankly, I believe, in the end, if the pot is attractive the casino may well gain more.

Yes 100 add-ons too much

As Chu mentioned.....if was a lot less like 10 to 20 max addons it would'nt be so bad,
but 100? I'm commited in one right now and believe me it will be the last. Slotocash has
the 10-20 addons so I guess I'll be playing there from now on.

I just noticed one important difference they have from MG tournies is the amount of time for add-ons. If you play all your coins with time left and then pay for an add-on you are given the time for the add-on plus the remaining time left over from the previous session. Given that RTG features asre difficult to get the extra time allows you to get and play your whole feature in many instances.

The buy in tournaments are just a waste of time. They're basically a war to see who can buy in the most times before the tournament ends. There used to be a few people who would buy in so many times that the prize barely paid for the buy ins just to take 1st place.

Microgaming still has free black jack tournaments that I'll play once in a while. You can't buy back in. I won one once last year.

2500 tourney

well, i won fourth place last week in the event, however, i used every add-on which of course is 55.00.....i won 256.00, this week i did the same not so lucky this week....... i think i agree with what others have posted about 10 or 20 add ons would work great!!!
:)
