RTG Max Win reached - 400 plus Re triggered Free Spins Lost

Dogboy stated these stats as a result of his mathematical analysis....in fact THE mathematical analysis as its his job to test these things on the exact games we are talking about.

No evidence has ever been offered to suggest that dogboy has ever been incorrect in relation to RTG software, so I'm not sure why you wouldn't accept his far better informed analysis.

The figure, based on all play from all players, makes perfect sense. We hear about the max cap situations in the forums, we don't hear about every other spin do we? A few swallows does not a summer make (except for maybe that girl I met over summer when i was 17 :D )

The RTP effect is not per player, but rather for the game overall.

Dogboy didn't break it down by game, but gave the 1% figure overall. Given that this problem frequently gets reported for Raindance, and the removed free spins are often very significant, 400 at 5x in this case, I suspect the lost RTP for Raindance is higher than 1%.

Even 1% is significant. The difference between 95% and 94% after a deposit has been played through 30x is hardly "small change". Up to 1.5% goes towards the Random Jackpots, and these are also significant wins for players who hit them.

RTG are also pretty secretive about much of this, and Dogboy has often stated that he is blocked from making full disclosures by RTG. For example, when the "2 pears" incident ocurred, Dogboy was not allowed to tell us whether this was the 91.5% setting or the 97.5% setting that had been used by the casinos in question. The difference between the two is VERY significant for players.

I'm pretty sure dogboy stated the effect on rtp is very small (less than 1%).

Still sucks though. I got an almost total screenful of gold nugget wilds in paydirt and received 2000xbet when the actual win should have been around 20000xbet.

Agree, still sucks. Especially if your bet was $1.00. Makes you sick to your stomach to not get $20,000.00 which we all could use in this economy.

He stated that the effect of max pays is less than 1%. He gave that figure discussing RTG as a whole, and didn't name any particular game. Some games might be 1.2% and some might be 0.6%....it would depend on the line max payout and the reel strips. Some pay 40000xlinebet and some pay 50000xlinebet, but it might happen more or less often on one or the other, so it can't be extrapolated from that information alone.

Obviously, if you hit $3000 max when it should have been $30000 then your personal RTP is affected far more than someone who hasn't. However, as someone else alluded to, all of this is taken into account in the slot design. Hence, if the cap wasn't there it is very likely that less players will hit big wins as there would be less wilds etc in the features, and a game like paydirt with the possibility of all positions being wild probably wouldn't exist, or if it did, the base game pays would have to be reduced to compensate. It might also be far too much variance for the operators liking, and may turn off potential clients.

It sucks, but I can see why it is done. Many of the features we love about RTG slots may never have existed without the cap.

Anyhoo, the fact is that dogboy does this stuff for a living, so I'll take his word over anyone else's. It's a shame some selfish members of the "It's rigged I tells ya" club made it very uncomfortable for dogboy to participate in the forums, as I learnt more from him in a few months about slots than I did in the previous 20 years.

COME BACK DOGMEISTER!! :D

That really SUCKS! :(

I was just thinking about Count Spectacular which I mentioned earlier...
If you hit 5 wilds in normal spins, your win would be "capped" to line bet x 50,000 - where without a cap it would be x250,000 (max lines)
But if you hit them during 12 free-spins @ x3 you would only get x 50,000 instead of x 750,000!
At that point I think you would consider that extra 1% was HUGE!
