It looks like there are no more Rival games being offered to UK players beginning on 25 July. It's a sad day for KasinoKing :(

And all the other UK based Rival casino fans I'm sure are sad too.

That is a shame actually, as much as I don't play Rival anymore I always thought their software was easily on par with MG and Netent, if not better in many ways. I have no doubt that had some of the bookies or well known casinos offered Rival games into their catalogue I'd have been playing them a lot more.

Just wasn't a fan of the Rival download clients and plethora of unknown casinos peddling their games. Hope to see them come back to the UK at some stage, but I suppose it is some comeuppance for Mg and Netent not being available in the US, shouldn't really complain :(

What, both of them?

Pulling out of the UK but staying in the USA, that most legal of territorys to serve as an online casino

This should tell the US government something. The US went for complete prohibition, whereas the UK went for regulation and using the industry as a valuable source of tax revenue. It seems that in the UK almost all providers are obeying the new laws, either getting a UK licence or pulling out. In the US, they have tried to get away with working around the law because they have no legal alternative. It probably works because with no legal alternative around to steal their customers (apart from a couple of states), the illegal sites can have all the customers. In the UK, there are legal alternatives, and they can market themselves better, and can claim to be safer for UK players due to them being directly regulated in the UK. The illegal sites have to compete much harder than in the US, so on balance it probably isn't worth it.

The other factor might be the way in which the UKGC has put pressure on the game providers as well as the operators, meaning that game providers who allow unlicensed sites to offer their games to UK players could find that they lose their license to offer games to the licensed UK sites as they have to take their games only from UKGC approved suppliers, so if a supplier loses the approval of the UKGC, their products have to be withdrawn from the licensed UK market.

The result will probably be that unlicensed sites that remain in the UK market will be using "unknown" software, fakes, their own in-house games, etc.

Don't think it will particularly affect UK players too much tho as with the amount of dodgy rival casinos over the years their wasn't that many good rivals about anyway with exception of refilliates group.

And the multi platform casinos that have been adding rival had already blocked UK players anyway.

Pity Playtech cant make the same decision lol. Would love it if all the main bookies sites had to get a different software for their main casinos.

Now that WOULD be good news!
Imagine if Ladbrokes went back to MG - the download version I mean. That would just about make up for my disappointment of not being able to play Rival any more!

True, UK players have the luxury to play pretty much any software they wish with 100s of regulated casinos so rival casinos shouldn't even be on their list.

Are rival the ones that also limit you to $xxx per month if you hit a jackpot? or run of with it altogether if you win?

The thing is, Rival offer something DIFFERENT to the other softwares.
On the vast majority of their slots, features are FAR more easy to hit than other softwares. Of course, this means that massive hits are rare, but decent wins of x50 or more are fairly common.
Not everyone's cup of tea, but I personally prefer low variance games like theirs.

I've played at nearly every Rival casino there ever was, and I have never not been paid my withdrawals. However, most were many years ago and certainly the landscape is a bit different today, in that there ARE some rogue operators out there who should be avoided at all costs.

For old time's sake I've dug out 5 of my best Rival hits; these were all in real money play, but the ones where I have $1,000's in my balance were with some of those crazy 10,000% (or whatever) bonuses some of them dish out.
The Baby Boomer's Jackpot was not though - that was a $200 deposit with a $250 phantom bonus, which ended up being a $2,550 cash-out!

I suspect the UKGC will be happy about this. The issue for Rival is that they offer a B2B turnkey solution for lots of sites that are US facing and so could not get and maintain a UKGC B2B operators licence whilst still supplying their main market.

By having the Rival sites pull out of the UK it removes the risk for Rival that they could get arrested anywhere in the EU for illegally serving the UK market. This threat combined with cooperation by payment processors vs UK facing unlicenced sites seems to have done the trick for the UKGC - In their recent annual report they highlighted that the black market for UK players has not developed, this move reinforces that analysis. It turns out that the Gib complainants were wrong to assert that the UK approach would boost the black market. Turns out that for a handful of UK players the additional risk/hassle is not worth it.

Having said that I think we will see Rval games return to the UK. I see no reason why (with a bit of internal reorganisation at Rival) that they could not apply to be a licenced software supplier and licence their products to UK licenced operators. It would be just setting up the subsidiary and getting the software to comply with the fairly straightforward Technical Standards and testing. A subsidiary could sell the games as a software provider to UK facing sites, what they could not do is act as the full on B2B supplier they are today where they offer core parts of the gambling as part of the service to the consumer facing casino.

Me too. It really grinds my nerves when Casino's cold call my house. The reviews on here looked a little shaky for my taste and I already have a good Rival casino with Tropica.

Rockbet and Tropica

I believe they are affiliated Rockbet and Tropica, since they knew who I was and I quit playing Tropica months ago, when they didn't pay me. I was a very good customer depositing and losing much money and then I actually won something and payment is usually the test of any good casino...

I did read about Rockbet in forum...will never deposit...took the bonus and had fun on their dime...Miss playing Rival, but won't play at any, any longer. Don't trust any of them after last interaction with them..
