Hi
ive been a member here a while and in t past cpl weeks decided to give up gambling online due to the way it was starting to effect my health.I could go weeks without playing and also ignore it completely for even longer, however when i did play esp poker i just couldnt stop.I a cpl weeks ago started playign at a site on friday night and never slept till lost all on the sunday morning.Done same a cpl days later only this time for almost 3 full days solid.

Now before you go what an a*****e i will admit that yes i am but i am aso sure that theres a lot of people out there who have been in the same boat.Anyhow i recovered and decided to give this up before it hurts me bigtime and decided wisely to close ALL accts i had online using self exclusion tools and emailing companies regarding this and i have to say 99% were behind me in the decision to block me from sites wishing me all the best UNTIL this heres something below which shook me to the core...blow is the email message i sent to this site incidentally a playtech site...

"i am updating the password so i am unable to login to the site..sadly i have developed a love of online poker but it is causin me problems at home...when i have funds available i am unable to even sleep which if u look at the histry of the acct over the past feew days u will see i spend way too long playing..i am unable to even sleep knowing i have poker funds available...i am so sorry for any inconvienience but i feel it is nescessary to close my acct and exclude myself permanently from your site...james xxxxx"

so you may think i will recieve an reply as any RESPONSIBLE company should give hmmmm well your wrong read this reply.

Now please forgive me for being wrong but surely any site on the internet that replies to someone with this surely must be rogued. How on earth can they reply with they WILL reopen at anytime after my initial email is absolutely amazing dont you think? That also shows to me how important you are to sites who refer to you as friend etc etc they could NOT give a damn about your personal welfare only to your financial state and howmuch they can bleed from you.I think that site is totally IRRESPONSIBLE and id like others opinions PLEASE...maybe its just me thats wrong but i dont thinkso.

Incidentally i havent gambled online since and wont but i also wont stop reading whats going on here at CM id miss it too much....j

That's worse than rogue.

What a weenie Maurice is. It's like he has this 'high need to be right' and it has to be HIS idea why you are closing your account. He's such a freaking expert on sever gambling problems that he decided to keep the option open for you, because HE decided you don't have any problems.

I'm sorry, I'm pissed off. I'm going to ping a playtech associate for you NLE and I assume he'll pass it on. If this thread doesn't get heat, please PaB to Bryan so he's sure to be aware.

On a more personal note... are you sure you should be hanging out here? Do you have your problem under control? I wish you the best, and would hate to see you leave, but if you ever think that visiting here is helping to fuel a gambling problem jjust send a note to CasinoMeister and say 'quit gambling' and you will be banned. I assume he sends links too... but you are already aware of gamcare, etc.

Best of luck forever:thumbsup:

edit: I reported it to Bryan instead of Playtech assoc.

Hey

Hey
thatnks for that reply lojo im fine with it now i have many barriers oin place for times of weakness and being allowed to post is important to me ..its well under control and i like having an input here...as for that email oh my god i was downright flabbergasted when i read it..ill also pass on if bryans interested the headers for it cos i know the pab section has been getting some dodgy requests,,

I just wanted to be sure he knew of it. He can pass it on to Playtech. That pisses me off to no end, like when you hear about a kid getting abused or something, I don't know, my blood is boiling.

You know

something lojo after i got this email i sent them or well HIM an email asking if he would not only on my behalf but for others who need it reconsider his views on responsible gaming and wrote a really nice email considering this but alas no reply.i asked in that email why he woul dreopen it when he knew why i had closed the original acct again no reply..Its actually the more i think of it one of the worst cases of exploitation ive heard for a while..The reason i say exploitation is they obviously know addicted people will open accts at time of weakness and here he s offering me an easy soluton to line his pockets so that inmy opiion is exploitation and he really does not wanna hide that fact by his remarks in emails..anyhow i appreciate again your replies....j

just a quick note on this have you heard anything back from bryan re this???? j
Never fear - I am here. :D

I'm sending off an email to the powers that be at Playtech to they can look into this.

This is unacceptable behaviour in my opinion. If a player mentions that he/she is having problems at home because of gambling, then the party's over. The people playing online need to be the players who have a firm grip on their behavior and habits.

Your account has been closed based upon your request to do so and not because of your "severe gambling problems".

Not what I would have expected from a Playtech casino.

By the way, you should check out this page - https://www.casinomeister.com/quit-gambling/

Thanks on the post kind words...as Bryan said earlier in this thread online gambling is something that people who play need to be in control off and sadly i would also have thought that all sites also need to be aware off.Sadly this site seems to know absolutely or cares nothing about but i also see the reply which will come bryans way...dear sir this is a mistake on our part and will be addressed to make sure nothing happens like this again..and of course it will , i have no agenda against online gaming but i would like to make sure that people are made aware that it can cause problems and also tha sites recognise that online gambling CAN cause problems to people.

........ditto..... i know of someone who had lost a wife , a child and the home is now in forclosure due to online poker and him not being able to control his self, last i heard he is in rehab getting help and his wife is now going to stand by him as long as he continues to seek help and put the family first. the casino knew he had a problem and continued to let him play after he had asked to have his acct closed:mad:some people can handle the gambling and some cannot, its just like drugs and drinking, you have to know when not to cross that fine line.........laurie

laurie we must realise as must operators that a lot of people the majority CAN control there online gambling however they must relaise that some people cannot and they in my opinion have a responsibility to these people.Ths idiot who wrote me that email as was shown on this thread bviously cares more for than peoples welfare and thats one email i will never ever forget and make it my aim to make sure that ALL companies have responsibilities towards peoples welfare....J

No disrespect

But
any company that has not answered an email regarding this thread deserves rogued bigtime...However saying that isent an email regarding this playtech place to kahnamwake over 10 days ago and still never even acknowledged the fact i sent one..yest another tragedy that online poker ONLY wants depositors to love and anyone else can go take a flying f***k to themselves....ill never let this thread go until i see a positive outcome...

The thing that gets me is what satifaction are you gonna get if the casino does reply, to me IF you really quit gambling as it was effecting your health an I bet your wallet then this is no place for you to be
I see the screen shots an drool (sp) an go an play them lol

While the casino's reply seemed cold and insensitive lest us not forget that ultimately we are responsible for our own actions no matter what corporate responsibility the casinos ought to have. In the western countries they have progressed far enough to insulate people against these vices. However, in Asia, the first thing that will be asked is 'what if the customer comes back and demands we reopen the account for him'. The only option would be to close his account for the time being and reopening it at his request. Rogue behavior you might say but this will be what normally happens here. People will be arguing whether the player's request was just an impulsive decision and so on.

I understand that many of you will find this hard to swallow but this is what is still happening in many parts of the world especially land-based casinos in Macau.

sorry

chuchu but i do not want to get drawn into a argument with you but yes i find it hard to swallow ..infact its pretty sad you feel that way regarding compulsive gambling..If a customer aproaches a website and says he needs help then he should be excluded for good no matter if it was impulsive or not "end of story".Sadly the quicker people like yourself learn that gambling does destroy lives the better and its as the EMAIL from them says meant to be a enjoyable fun activity..IMHO it actually borders on exploitation a website allowing someone to re-opn an acct they asked to be closed and again IMO ALL websites must ensure that self exclusion tools are made available. The more i think about your reply the more it disguts me to be honest and maybe u need to go round some gambling websites and read how gambling can and does destroy lives...

If you have heard anything CM?? cant wait to see the reply...

Sorry, they did reply right away - haven't had a chance to catch up here yet. My message was sent to the relevant person at senior level who will hopefully put a boot up someone's ass. The email was thoughtless and downright roguish.

noluckever67 has opted out of the forum. Hopefully, he won't consider himself unlucky anymore.

Hi noluckever,

first I also want to commend you for your decision and the way you reinforced it. Also, if you were in the habit of visiting affiliate sites, you can request to have your IP blocked there so you won't get into temptation...

secondly, I'd love to also hear who did the right thing by you. These places would score a point with me...
