Just had 2 mails from casinos with the following !

About time !

As part of our ongoing commitment to responsible gaming and in line with recent guidance published by the UK Gambling Commission in relation to Covid-19, we are writing to inform you that as of yesterday we have removed the Cancel Withdrawal functionality from our website. This will mean that any requested withdrawal will now be processed without the option of cancelling that withdrawal and returning the funds to your cash balance

A part of me thinks its good to have the choice but on the whole with the way some shady casinos operate it serves them right and should, hopefully be a positive step.

It will cut some profits for some casinos who use it the wrong way at the worst/best time, i would guess. And change the way they operate maybe, for better or worse :)

I use the lock function on the sites that offer it, but only because i think it speeds up the withdrawal.
I think removing the option to cancel a withdrawal is just more nannying.
Its my money, if i want to cancel a withdrawal and play more, i should be able to.
If you cant let a withdrawal sit for 1-2 days without canceling it and playing with it, you shouldnt be gambling in the first place.

Seems to be an unpopular opinion on here for some reason.

I think you are the first person I've seen on here, or any other gambling related forum, say that a reverse option is a good idea.

Most withdrawals now, and certainly within the next 12 months or so, once processed, will hit your account instantly, therefore you can deposit again if you want (uk anyway). Reversing is ONLY there to make the casino more money.

@Mark_32Red @TradaCasino @CasumoLouis @EveBgo @Sebastian - Rizk @VoltAffiliates
have you removed the reverse option now, and will you be processing them quicker as a result. Sorry for picking on you guys just can't think of any other active reps off the top of my head who still had it in place (apart from Jan who I know removed it already)?

I think a lock-option is enough.
If a player wants to lock the withdrawal he/she can do that, and if they want to use their money and gamble more they can do that.

Hey Colin, I can confirm that it is still live on 32Red, but as per UKGC guidelines we are working on it's removal as soon as we can. I don't have an ETA at this stage, it's a big change for us and we need to ensure that the removal doesn't actually mean withdrawals take longer than the current processing time.

Thanks Mark, where does it say 'as soon as possible', I mentioned in a different thread yesterday that I knew I had seen that mentioned on an official document somewhere, but looking again I couldn't find it. Some people, especially on other forums, think it should have been removed instantly, which clearly isn't the case, and probably impossible for some casinos like yourself.

or they could just process them quickly so the customer gets their money quicker.
Yeah obviously the best would be if all withdrawals were instant, but then the reverse option wouldnt even exist in the first place.
With a lock-option it would be up to the player to decide what to do, wich is the way i like it.

I would put money on most casinos processing withdrawals within an hour or two if the reverse option is removed. The 2-3 day pending period which a reverse is possible, is very profitable for them. Thats clear from some casinos actions. Casumo, for me, always process withdrawals quicker if I lock them. They have removed the lock facility from some customers, why do that if it isn't to make money?

That's the point. Withdrawals used to take days. Now it's possible to do so in minutes, so it's not so important. Go back a few years when you were waiting for your big win to hit your bank account. It could take days and if you were out of cash your only option was to reverse. For me, this was often just to get a very small percentage of the withdrawal back in my account. The result is very obvious and is exactly why this process should be stopped.

Guess we will see.
Keeping long withdrawal times might see less people willing to lock up their money and instead keep playing.
Will probably be a bit of both from different sites.

Finally, and I do hope that all other gambling authorities join the UKGC. It's 2020 and regardless of the coronavirus, this should have been done many years ago. A lot of casinos still don't offer lock withdrawals and have 24-hour pending periods. There is no reason for them anymore to hold onto the funds, they'd better speed up cashouts too.

This wont really affect me as the only time I ever reverse a withdrawal was because I had another win soon after and wanted to increase the withdraw rather than make another but this is going to be good news for a lot of people, no doubt about it.

Agree,

Without the reverse function the casinos will want players to get their funds as quickly as possible so they can play it back to the casino...

I love the wording in the Email.

„As part of our ongoing commitment to responsible gaming...“

Yeaaaaaaaah right, Its Not because the UKGC forces you to :D

Im sure as part of your commitment to responsible gaming the reverse option has been removed for everybody and not only in the UK where you risk to get a multi million pound fine.

Yeah, same with all the "hope you are safe during the covid-outbreak and gambling responsibly, we totally care"

Nah, you only care about covering your back.
