(reassure me) Is this just bad luck?

To openly confront someone about a "possible gambling addiction" in a casino forum is...well, a bit taboo and should probably be avoided in my opinion.

I think I have done it twice. I will not mention names, but one of them is a person who has written a "help me, gambling is destroying my life"-thread. I confronted him openly when he later started to make new "gambling-related" threads (since he earlier had asked for our help).

I have also confronted a troll in this forum. This person obviously has some problems and he is only using this forum to bitch in a unfair way when he loses. I have done that openly but should probably have sent him a PM instead. I really think it is a bit painful to read some posts when the poster obviously has some problems. But since he is a troll...well just annoying.

To openly confront H1_Roller is in my opinion a bit unnecessary. If you truly feel that she might have a problem, then maybe you should have sent her a PM. I see her as a valuable member of this forum. She has not indicated to us that she has a problem. She is not a troll who bitches about "bad casinos" or "rigged games" in a unfair way. Some people just loves gambling and uses a lot of time on it. And some people really loves to fish and will often use a lot of time to go fishing.

I have no opinion whether she has a gambling problem or not. All I am saying is that things like this maybe should be dealt with privately. Especially when it concerns a good and active member here. On the other hand, it is nice to see that members care about each other.

Anyway, I just wanted to give some feedback about this.

LOTR will get you eventully, it's as bad as, if not worse than TS2 (learned this the hard way) and since given up on both.

Aww... rainmaker? wuv woo :)

I agree with what you are saying Rainmaker, but also agreed with Gerilege because what he said was done tacfully and with passion of caring, not done in any manner of cruelty.

Members here follow each other for such a long time, that they get to feeling like their with friends and feel comfortable just making a statement openingly rather than thinking of being private, sometimes that's an after thought.

In my opinion, we all have a gambling problem/issue/habit to one degree or another, that's no big secret, otherwise we wouldn't be playing or be here sharing with other players.

We would be more like our parents, or some, that can walk into a vegas casino and spend $5 dollars and be content for the rest of their lives never stepping into another casino.

I enjoy reading this thread also, as it brings back good memories of playing MG, which was never the same after it was cloned for us in the US.
So enjoy it while you have your freedom still intact to play wherever you want, even if you do get taken to the cleaners sometimes, as least you do it FREE!

tLOTR is the ONLY game I can win at lately. What on Earth is going on? :(

Somebody PLEASE tell me you've experienced something like this and it will pass. I'm really frustrated :puke:

well losing streaks are much more common then winning streaks . Not sure how long you've been playing.

I made a few deposits at Ladbrook to play mostly LOTR  , could not get even one lousy bonus.

Thank you for your concern, and I take no offence whatsoever :)

Also - you are right, I am indeed a compulsive gambler who probably deposits £500 - £1000 per week at online casinos. I also withdraw somewhere around that weekly as well, sometimes much more, sometimes much less.

It's hard to know how the write the following paragraph(s) without seeming pompous. I hope it's taken and understood in the manner and tone it is written....

I will be honest with you (I'm only saying this because I appreciate your concern and don't want to look like someone who really has a big problem); I am in a very fortunate financial position. I've worked very hard to get where I am, and although I do make lots of deposits, and spend an awful lot, I also earn an awful lot. The money I spend at online casinos is not a lot of money to me (otherwise I wouldn't spend it).
When I introduced myself a few months back, I said I was a full-time housewife, but I'm also self-employed (I work from home). I just wasn't about to lay out a full description of myself to complete strangers on an internet forum. :)

I really hope that doesn't make me look like a stuck-up bitch or whatever. I'm just being honest.

You stuck-up biatch.......:p

i can´t see any gambling problems here.

i would bet more on lotr per spin........

btw i enjoy your posting in the screenshot thread, thnaks for that!

I have been thinking about this private/open question for a while before I posted. Probably going private would have been better, and I really appreciate your feedback.

If it was only about her, most likely I would never have made this public, and I also see her as a valuable member. But since frequent screenshots, posts about wins are public and also affecting other people (housewives, young people, etc.) who are not aware of the conditions H1_Roller, I made this decision.

Probably it was a bad decision, but I am a quick and mostly intuitive decision maker also as part of my job, and it is a straight consequence that I make mistakes more often than others.

I am ready to ask a moderator to remove my posts and all replies if this is the option H1_Roller would prefer.

Don't be silly :)

I have actually joked occasionally with my husband about all the stuff I post on here. He thinks it's hilarious that someone finally pulled me up about my gambling (because he reckoned it would happen eventually). You see "housewife" and then all those screenshots coupled with a thread like this, and imagine starving kids and a neglected house but that couldn't be further from the truth.

The reason I make deposits of £150 and £200 but bet, as KK said, 'quite high for that bankroll' is similar to *thinks* short-stacking(?) at poker tables. I could make larger deposits, but then I'd just be silly and bet bigger.

:lolup::lolup: Funny girl :)

Bad luck does indeed happen too often.

The thing which I tell myself is once I have good luck I quit any gambling online.

Not too long ago I won over $6000 online. What I did the moment I was paid was uninstall, remove, close accounts and unsubscribe from as many casinos as possible. Since we all know nice winning runs never last forever I dont want to simply have awesome luck and win only to give it all back to the casino in runs of bad luck over the following few days.

Since that win I havent gambled a penny online. Im still enjoying that cash. I know I have nowhere to play since I closed accounts so as far as im concerned my money is safe.

Maybe in the future when the moneys long gone ill go back to it but the longer I keep going without playing, the longer I am a winner

:D. I think most of us could do that deep down but willpower can be quite futile where gambling is concerned.

Everybody wants to be a winner, weather its to get that dream sum or win enough for a nice sunny holiday, but then it can be all in the mind where some greed comes in place and makes you believe "i could have 2 holidays if i keep playing" then before you know it your bust.

Hopefully LOTR will keep that winning streak going for you =D

Who really still believes online casinos have no possibility to influence their software..

hm what I'm talking about.... but I know what I see almost every damn day on my

monitor screen...since years! I am speaking only from video slots machines

I'm not saying that they cheat but they have definitely influence to the software!!

that's my opinion

Knowing when to switch software/casinos/slots/game types is the key to reduce the damage when losing trend starts.

Based on my experience, when a MG slots turn cold, it could last months.

This is absolutely not my business, and sorry if I offend you even in the slightest way, but I can't help telling this, and I might be completely, absolutely wrong. If so, I apologize in advance a hundred times. But I simply feel this, and I have seen it many times already. Based on the screenshots, your profile and posts, I tend to think that you might have to face the risk of a possible gambling problem at some point of time in the future if you leave things going on their own. This is also based on my own personal experience. You are definitely not there, and I strongly think that you will never get there. But some devil inside me and me reading people come to CM, post, and after a while go keep telling me: watch out, careful.
Again, I needed to share this, and I did it with good intention.

I am glad somebody posted this as I was feeling the same way, don't get me wrong I enjoy the posts in the winners screenshot thread, but I too feel you could have a problem by some of your posts and I don't know, just feel worried for ya.

I have seen some bad things with people and slots, like when the casino near me first opened you would see people on the phone crying cause they just lost their car or all their money.

Hell's Bells

Please read through the thread in it's entirety. I do appreciate concern but if I'm being honest I'm getting both fed up with this, and actually quite embarrassed.
No offence, but what I do with my own money that I work very hard for is my business. :)

I think the thread is kinda getting funky - Although people have stressed concern for you, it is getting a bit much...

Ask Max or Bryan to shut the thread...

Nate
