Question.

You have a business selling sandwiches (Rhino sandwiches) and they are the #1 selling sandwich, a lot of people come into your shop just to get their hands on the Rhino. Sometimes customers queue out the door, and it's the #1 sandwich on YouTube. You are making an absolute fortune out of this sandwich every day, and everyone is happy.

Do you...

1) Bring out more variations on the Rhino Sandwich. You have a rich recipe book of similar sandwiches that you've sold in other places, and could be adapted for your shop. Perhaps a Cheshire Cat cheese sandwich. Or a Lone Wolf baguette. You have hundreds of proven recipes that could make you a fortune.

2) Ignore the above recipe book, and basically just throw any old shit together like a frozen (Inferno) baguette. And while you're at it, remove the butter (autospin) from all your existing sandwiches, including the Rhino sandwich, so now they're not as good as before. Only for UK-born customers though.

Thoughts....?

I don't really 'eat' at this cafeteria much, but ever since the UKCG audit - where the part time student staff where last seen cowering under the till - conditions have really deteriorated. The frozen baguette is the direction the company is taking, although due to the costs associated with refrigeration it will have to be just stale baguettes with no added extras. Eating these will be painful and they will be hard to break. After which you'll be left feeling extremely unsatisfied and pining for some of that good old Rhino sandwich.

On the plus side, they do now give away one free pillow with each one sold, so that's some comfort

You forgot to mention that all of these new sandwiches come with fucking 40 page instruction booklets telling you how to erm..."consume" them

Yeah that's right WMS.....I'm talking about your Titanic Headache Sandwich, your Frozen Inferno Footlong Migraine and your Cool Jewels Sinusitis Flatbread. Jesus H Christ, it's enough to make you lose your appetite before you take your first bite.

Like every other provider another case of 'sod the player' all they want is our dosh, bottom line!

:( :(

Correct, but my (somewhat convoluted) point is, they won't get much of our dosh bringing out the shit they've done this year. Who the fuck plays Frozen Inferno and Michael Jackson, lol, even the Twitch streamers won't touch them. Kinda insane the direction they've taken since getting taken over by SG, which is when it all went downhill fast.

Just depressing that it looks like we'll never see another epic slot like RR from them. I remember a couple of years ago I'd be counting down until their next release.

As a former offline slot player in the UK who has the very occassional dabble now I walk in the bookies these days and the amount of junk the manufacturers are releasing these days is crazy! It seems they peaked a few years ago and are now just trying to make an even quicker cash in

Barcrest made some good slot games when the £500s came out, Rainbow Riches (Pots Of Gold) and Rocky were two of my favourites as they generally gave a fair enough session for your money. They still exist today but nobody really plays them anymore because SG took over and they've just become really tight, predictable and boring now, in fact around the time the stakes were allowed up to £2 was the downhill slope in my humble opinion.

It's the same online from what I've seen of the streamers, I've not even been watching people that long yet I've got a good idea of the games that seem a decent play and others which just look terrible (How did Sunny Scoops get that absolutely awful sequel, and as for Hugo tapping on the screen that isn't going to get annoying at all after about the second time or anything...)

The 'colossal reel' idea has been done to death too on another point, and I find those games so boring apart from the very odd hit...usually it gets excited over your 1 million 3/4 of a kind lines...total win £0.01 ;)

We should design one for them I think

Here's my little tip for slot designers ... please avoid anything to do with lucky leprechauns , different coloured gems or egypt lol . It's been done. Proper game designers are creating these huge 3D worlds that players can fully interact with and slot designers are making these 2D slots with crappy graphics and the exciting "WildIntensity" feature aka random wilds which conveniently don't quite link up for that big win

Maybe it's just harder than it looks but there seems to be a massive imagination barrier in slot creation

That bolded sentence irked me a bit.. first off, i play Micheal jackson and love it..really think it's one of the better SG Games of late.
There are more, and as it's now SG and not WMS, i really liked titles such as Rainbow Riches Pick'n Mix, and played a few others that were released lately, be it stemming from the previous Bally, Barcrest or WMS, that i really liked..

Secondly, 'even the Twitch Streamers won't touch them'...? Who the fuck are they? Like they are some sort of grade meter for quality slotting? Admitted i haven't watched any Twitch stream, save one, which i didn't appreciate at all (it's not my cup of tea to sit in a virtual chat with a dude or dudette streaming there play session somewhere, which i don't know or sympathise with) and from what i've gathered there are only a handful of them anyway.

So by no means are they in any way relevant in determining the quality of any gambling product...and i'm not even taking into account, the fact that there are some strong rumors that most of it is fake as shit..

Well, i may be overreacting here, but i just mean to say that Twitch isn't relevant at all, and shouldn't be, i.m.o.

And i do still trust WMS to produce more of the slots thtmost of us have come to appreciate. And even if they don't, i'll be playing all their classics untill the day istop playing, simply cause they are kind of timeless and ubercool:)

Don't take this the wrong way, i;m not insulting your integrity or whatever, i just didn't really like the idea people are taking twitch as a grademeter for anything, and also disagree with the fact that all WMS Games of late are crap.
I do admit a lot of their latest releases haven't even touched the level of coolness that the old titles have, but there's hope yet.

If you give MJ a good go, and hit it on a famous WMS win streak, you may change your opinion about that one too:)
Sorry for the mini rant!

Don't see much in WMS' portfolio other than Rhino that would make me take notice of them. Perhaps I ought to switch software because I have been pasted by Karaoke Party all day. I like my 9-liners but the base game music sounds like Enya meets God of War in a Croatian disco ca.1986.

Speaking of Wacko, I gave the MJ slot a shot earlier today and thought it was ok for a change of scenery. It was I felt a needlessly expensive way to hear Dirty Diana on infinite loop. The bonuses come relatively frequently and then die altogether. But after today's loss it'll be Never:Banned from me :(

My £50 did a bit of a runner, rather quickly. It felt as though I'd been Jesus-juiced and Bubbles had his wicked way with me to be fair

Scientific gaming took over Williams in 2013 so perhaps the "oldskool" WMS games are no more.
I know most new products bearing the WMS logo do not really have that special WMS feel to them
I think Rhino, Monty, Ruby, Zeus etc were all tried and tested and made for the land based casino market
and as such more time and effort went into making them enjoyable for long sessions

Even a game like Spartacus just feels so much more solid and exciting than the clone Epic Monopoly 2
or Zeus1000 which just feel a little "off"

Just as an aside, let's not forget that WMS pretty much cloned Aristocrat's Buffalo sandwich to come up with the Rhino sandwich. And there are copies like Bally's Thunderhorn and Playtech's Buffalo Blitz. I'd go for something new!

Michael Jackson was an offline Bally slot that has been released online by Scientific Games. It was never a WMS slot so calling it that, or comparing it to succesfull WMS slots seems a bit unfair. The same goes for Titanic: on offline Bally slot, that has been released online by Scientific Gaming. It is not WMS.

That said, I do agree that it has been quite a long time since we have seen some new great WMS slots released. There is Dancing in Rio, which has some huge extra jackpots that can be won, but eats your balance up very quickly and has very dull gameplay.

I wish WMS would release an online version of the Princess Bride slot. Now that was one fantastic WMS slot with some of the best and most enjoyable bonus rounds ever made. The poison swap bonus (Vizzini bonus) and the Swamp bonus are great examples of what WMS can do in terms of fun, excitement and originality all rolled into one.

So, Scientific Games, if you are reading this: get your act together and please make an online version of The Princess Bride slot. Both the movie and the slot are easily in my all time top 5.
