Just a general query - I had it in my mind that online casino's couldn't charge a fee for debit card deposits in the UK. I have signed up and played at a UKGC licensed site over the last few days and on each deposit I have been charged a fee, is this correct?

I would not use the site, close the account and choose a site that doesnt take the piss. Charging for debit card deposits = rogue site. I wouldnt fancy a getting a withdrawal if you hit a big win lol

They are a on the Grey Zone list here, so im hoping if I do get a decent win there will be no issues.

Not sure how relevant this is to the gambling industry but under the card scheme rules set by Visa and Mastercard, which all merchants sign up to, any charge for the transaction should not be passed on to the consumer.

Many corner shops have a minimum spend but its against the 'so called' rules and you can report them but nobody ever bothers.

Did Just Eat try and get round it by creating a 50p 'service charge'? - i'll ask @paul7388 cos he orders from there at least twice a day.

Excuse me i have never used Just Eat in my life. The boys have maybe.

Call me old fashioned but i like to phone my regular places so i can get my bloody order right. Takes me telling them 20 times no bloody onion to get curry with no onion. Plus i like to pay for my food in cash when it comes.

Funnily enough my boy phoned last night not happy. He had spend £22 ordering pizza and stuff at his girlfriends. The place he had ordered from was shut but they still took the money from his card. He will get it back and had to drive to a chippy instead. I went well you should have bloody phoned like i would .

So my reading of that would be that there shouldn't be charges, dont know if I am right?
The site is Voodoodreams and I will tag the rep josh@suprnation.com to get their input.

Someone who has more experience can probably better answer but here's an extract from what they CAN still pass on...so...pass: suggests that they can pass on the service charge?

No lol my boy and his girlfriend just can't cook.

And i hate bloody onions in anything. Save your cookery course one thing i can actually do is cook  , Think the fact i cook for my job at the moment puts me off cooking at home. maybe tomorrow i will get told to stay at home for next few months not bothered as would be paid.

Still had chicken curry and chips for dinner tonight. But fact chinese was closed meant i had too actually make it myself. Just can't be doing with that lol.

I stand corrected. Just searched the card scheme rules, that was a joy.

Couldnt find any evidence to back up what i thought i knew and a quick google search confirmed they can charge whatever they wish as long as its labelled a surcharge.

Plenty of other casinos happy to take your money for free in any case :) Sorry for the curve ball.

If they charge the same fee on all deposit methods it's legal.
If they only charge on card deposits it isn't.
Just play somewhere else, plenty of casinos out there who don't charge.
