I wish I was in London to see all this.
I wish Queen Elizabeth the very best for many more great years ahead.
But I can't wait for Kate to be Queen.

Kate will never be Queen lol.
You may get King William in the future as you hope, but his wife doesn't become Queen though. The PROPER title of king or queen can only be passed on through heredity, not marriage.

When Prince William does become king, Middleton would become the Queen Consort – “Consort” being the official title of the reigning monarch’s spouse – and would be known as Queen Catherine, though she would not be line to rule if anything happened to her husband. Instead, the throne would pass directly to one of her children, likely the oldest male, or if offspring too young, to Prince Harry, William’s younger brother.

Normally upon marriage, royal men receive a title as a gift from the current monarch. For William, he’s become a Duke. Upon his Dukedom, William’s wife has become a Duchess (of Cambridge), if William hadn't have accepted the title, the couple’s titles would simply be as Prince and Princess William.

If Prince Charles takes the throne as king, William would be bumped up to the title of Prince of Wales, making Middleton the Princess of Wales, a title that now belongs to Camilla Bowles, who has never used it because of the sensitivity to her involvement in the divorce of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. Instead, she uses the title Duchess of Cornwall, which would also pass to Middleton if Prince Charles were to become king. It’s widely hinted that Camilla would then take the title of Princess Consort, instead of Queen, to avoid public scrutiny. Still, Charles may choose to pass on the throne entirely, and let it pass directly to William if the Queen’s current reign carries on for many more years – as it could.

Ahh, this is nice.:)

My mum is the same age as the Queen and she once met the Queen at a funeral.

She ...yes...shook hands and no courtsying was prompted. My mum was the nurse to who ever died...It was so long ago but I think the person that died was a Housekeeper.

My mum said she was wonderful and very gracious and thanked my mum. :)

I am glad that Princess Diana came to be, as otherwise, I think, the Royal family woud be so different, d today.

My thoughts are always with Princess Diana...she changed things and mellowed the Royal family, imo.

Still...God Bless the Queen!

I didn't go to London (only 60 miles from here) - but I've been watching bits of the Thames Flotilla on the telly, and boy did that make me wish I HAD made the trip to our capital.
A truly wonderful sight!

KK

I agree - watched it on Sunday and despite the cold and rainy weather it was a spectacular bit of pageantry, with a multitude of nations taking part and some really interesting vintage steam boats among the craft involved; I thought the royal galley Gloriana and her oarsmen were particularly impressive.

The bands and choirs on boats was a good idea too.

Can you imagine how long it took most spectators to get home when all the pomp and circumstance ended, though!!!:eek2:

BingoT,
I like the Royals also. Not fanatical but enjoy knowing what's happening in their lives. My would be 79 yr old mum introduced me to The Royals at a young age as she was a Royalist and I have had a resurgence of interest since Kate after Dianna. Am cosy now and have settled to watch the jubilee concert.

The opening with Robbie Williams was amazing with his signature song "Let me entertain you.." As only he can.. Good old Sir Cliff is still amazingly awesome for his age. I have been listening to his music for 45 years and still love it..Cheryl Cole and Gary Barlow did a great vocal of their song. Annie Lenox is still got it..yeah. So what if she can't hit those high notes now. She's still amazing! Tom Jones is still so sexc for an old bloke... haha Waiting for our own home grown Kylie Minogue and all the others..

The queen is an incredible lady. I admire her strength and tenacity.
All the celebrations are a treat. Gives some people something to enjoy... Thanks Queenie!! and congratulations!!
