Well, the betting market has been decimated but it appears gamblers are rushing to end their GamStop blocks if the time period has elapsed.

You would have to assume the increase in online slotting would be monstrous. A large percentage of the millions of people who bet on sports will surely be drawn towards it and on top of that you will have thousands of people whose life revolves around land based Casinos who will have no problem making the switch.

Potentially millions of pounds a week in increased revenue for online gaming.

Grosvenor and Mecca have suspended my accounts today, sent emails saying they wanted to discuss
my higher deposit levels and were supposed to phone me but havnt. Not really bothered, been slotting
too much and at bigger levels only though boredom and the fact I cant stop winning (not bragging)
Wondering if they are getting fed up as I am 12k up in 3 months

"....ASA have warned that they will be monitoring for any promotions that might exploit vulnerabilities among the "captive audience" that the nationwide lockdown has created"

Ah excellent, so they'll ban all ads then. What's that? They won't?

Grosvenor seem really big on responsible gaming. I remember having to jump through a few hoops to get my account reopened when my 6 month Gamstop ended last year.

There are quite many casinos who at least have taken message from regulators seriously when it's coming to advertisement and especially monitoring players more closely and realtime as possible. Like @shadow123 mentioned, casino took quite a strict action and suspended account until been able to interact with player and agree on what level of spending player is comfortable at the moment etc... Some more SOW requests can be expected, for example information if person is working at the moment or lost job at least temporarily and have to make totally new plans to get salary from somewhere again etc...

Hopefully this will be quite strictly monitored by regulators from different countries as we hear from so many places that online gambling traffic has been increasing. No need to tease people who play some tenners there and then but if players deposits increase a lot from what they have been etc...

I wouldnd mind but the phone number given is not manned and live chat said someone would phone me but
they havnt, seems silly suspending the accounts when it cannot be resolved, spose it is understandable
at the moment and not really important.

They did it over email with me, asked a few questions to which I replied then they lifted the account suspension. They asked me how much I was comfortable losing on their casino per month but they then implemented this as a deposit limit rather than a loss limit...which was quite annoying.

The process took about 10 days if I remember rightly...but that's because they took an age to respond to the initial email. Once the case was open it was quite swift.

Talked to live chat again, he said he would talk to the safer gambling team, but no one was there.
Will send an email tommorrow outlining the reasons for higher deposits and asking if it can be sorted by email
as you did,the phones are not currently manned at all.
Going to get a bit tricky if it gets into SOW requests, only people who get that info is the accountant and taxman. If we end up parting company, its fine by me, had a brilliant 3 months.

Daft thing is that they seem so focused on deposit levels but not taking into account winnings.
Surely the important thing is overall loss/profit levels.

Yes I agree and that is my main gripe. Loss limits seem much more applicable than rigid deposit limits.

well, I'm being bombarded with casino advertisements on Facebook recently.
Here are a few from just this afternoon.
They may not be specifically saying anything about being bored at home. But they're appearing at very regular intervals. VideoSlots being the most persistent.

And EVERY other GameSys site

I agree, Brianmon, I have seen a surge in casino advertising on FB lately.

Problem gambling during lockdown? I should say! I've just met a £2k monthly limit at one casino in just two weeks. OK, I am in profit from withdrawals in that time, but even so ........
