What bothers me more than anything else about Donald Trump is how he is able to get away with soo much. If all the things Donald Trump has done and all the racism, sexism, hatred was accused to other presidents, they would get impeached!

Apparently one of the candidates was and is vehemently anti women. Yet the balance above wasn't affected in any meaningful (or even slight) way. In fact there was a slight deviation towards MORE women voting for trump in some areas (white women). Hatred for Hilary doesn't cut it, not when she was the most pro-women candidate the USA has ever seen.

Please explain why they voted for him if he is so anti-women? Your either saying you identified something that 50% of the female voting population missed OR what your saying has little/no substance.

What I find most disturbing about this thread is that there obviously some people who just simply can’t see the bad in Trump (and i think Clinton was bad but in different ways) and don’t see how much damage he’s doing to the US both internally and externally.

I did read it... I also checked after posting my reply in the interest of fairness, and most of the mass shootings in the US are not attributable to any form of mental health issue so in this respect you may have a point - although today’s was. That said I agree that the ban was ill thought through.

I still don’t think Trump should have rescinded it without putting something more meaningful in place but I take your point on this.

One kid who was just arrested after his grandmother read his journal and saw he was planning to kill students at a school and wrote that he decided to kill students by simply tossing a coin. That is mental illness.

That same kid also wrote he planned on using many weapons including home made pressure cooker bombs and other explosives.

Point being. Guns arent the problem. Mental illness is.

If I was in charge, my plan would be backround checks and giving teachers, doctors etc the power to flag a patient if they show signs of being a threat. And a dedicated team review those flags and take the proper measures. I also think that all teachers should be trained with firing a weapon and self defence. Sadly, school shooting has become breeding grounds for psychopaths.

If a person wants to kill a bunch of people, they will. Whether it be with a bomb, a knife, driving a vehicle into a group of people or many of the other methods out there.

Why do you think in the UK we haven't had a school shooting for 23 years? Why has there been no mass shootings in Europe this year but over 20 in the US?

You're kidding right? We have hunting in the UK and Europe but you can't walk in to a Wal-Mart and buy an assault rifle.

Also we don't have guns readily available or readily owned in the UK - and oddly we don't all feel we need guns to protect ourselves from people breaking in to murder us because quite simply it happens so rarely it's not even an issue here. Same in Europe. So why is it such an issue in America?

The fact you need to use that argument just goes to show that there is an innate societal problem in the US...
