Recently I got my credit card statement and notice that allstarslots charges your credit card as a cash advance. Firstly I find this odd its even allowed. In order for anything to be cash advance I need to enter my 4 digit pin code. So how are they allowed to go about this?

The reason why I noticed is the hefty fee's. $7 per deposit transaction...pretty hefty if you make 3-4 deposits in the same day. Which happened to me. I was sick the last week or so I laid in bed watching movies and doing a bit of gambling. Even on a $25 deposit I was charged a $7 fee...I know these charges are from my CC company and not them but surely casinos must know cash advances always come with fee's.

However whenever you use a prepaid they obviously cannot charge you a cash advance and its processed as a normal purchase.

How and why can they do this? Is it a security measure where they are guaranteed the money right away instead of risking someone do a reverse transaction? How do they get around not using my 4 digit code?

thanks

i have the same thing with paste and pay but it is my bank that's charging the 10$ in my case check and see if the charge is on your cc statement separate from the actual deposit if it is then i think they are coding it as a cash advance but your bank may very well charge a fee for that cash advance [ others do us a favor and code it as a purchase , just my .02 cents

You need to check the T&C of your card. For example, an increasing number of credit cards in the UK classify online casino deposits as cash advances.

Not 100% sure I understand this right.
But as I understand you are talking about credit cards and cash advance?

Any deposit you make with your credit card will come off as "Cash Advance" and will cost you additional charge.
This is because its gambling related (same as taking out cash from ATM)

Also some credit cards companies does not allow transactions for gambling sites.

To make example Capital One charge £3 for any "cash advance" this would be if you take out cash at an ATM.

If you make deposit to a casino of lets say £25. Then they would charge additional £3 = total £28

Just to put this one to bed. It has nothing to do with the casino. The casino takes your money as normal transaction. It is your credit card company who handles it.
I had deposit long time ago with Capital One which was not taken as cash advance though.

If you enter a land-based casino and purchase chips you are charged 3% extra as its treated as a cash advance. Its only fair because otherwise the casino will have to pay the commission like other retailers.
