Can I ask why you do promotions like this that are skewed towards high rollers?

It's not a tournament at all. Everyone has an equal chance of winning in a tournament as competitors start with the same bankroll.

Your tournament depends on how much money you have to start. I can't enter this with £25 and expect to feature on the leader board with someone who has a £1,000 bankroll.

It would be nice if Tournaments were Tournaments, they would certainly attract more players.

You can participate by simply depositing 1€/£ and it seems pretty logical to me that the more you bet the higher your potential reward might be. That makes it all more enticing!

I understand where you're coming from but I think you're missing the point.

A competition that is based on volume of bets is completely useless for lowrollers and hence the majority of players, as they will never reach the volume required to win anything.

I remember some group, I think Aspire, had a group-wide turnover competition with a car in first place. Anyone could compete, but unless you could wager 1.6 billion euros in a couple of weeks you'd never overtake the first place, and to reach the minimum prize you'd still have to wager tens of thousands, something most players simply can't on their usual budget. A tournament like that is more likely to push players elsewhere, to competitions where their small bets actually can win something (like cash drops or highest multiplier win tournaments).

This is not a tournament.

This is a buy a prize competition.

A tournament would be something where you'd get points based on x wins, regardless of your bet size. Like most of e.g. Unibet's tournaments are.

It would only make sense to participate if the level of the playing field was equal. You can nit pick the word "tournament" all you want, it doesn't change the facts.

We can break down the word tournament (come on ) to the point of semantics but it's pretty pointless - question is: does this 'comp' entice players who, maybe like me used to play at Energy, to come back?

The answer is no - for all the reasons above. I'm not a low roller, nor a high roller but a lower Medium one in general and these competitions are pointless. Even for the high rollers they are - guys betting on 20 quid a spin wont care for 1400, but those on 60p-2 quid will: so why not aim for them?

It makes complete sense to give everyone the same starting bankroll. Poker tournaments are a great example - everyone starts off with the same number of chips, and the best player wins, not the wealthiest. The competition should be based on turnover, so the longer you play and keep winning the longer you can keep playing and winning racking up the points. It makes players try different strategies for turning over their bankroll. The more skilled a player is and luck plays its part the more the reward should be. The best player with the best luck should be at the top, not the one that has the deepest pockets.

Unfortunately, the people that design these are in it for the money, so creating something that appeals more to high rollers means they are likely to make more money, or so their thinking is. It's not about creating a community competition or giving back to the regular players. It's a cash grab and the main reason why I don't promote these "tournaments".
