There is always so much debate and interest in how online slots work I though I would do a poll which is in Two parts.

Poll 1
For the purpose of this poll by the term "online slots" I am refering to the main software providers MG,RTG,Rival,Playtech and Wagerworks.
Poll Two deals with individual software providers.

Do you believe that online slots are completely random and that the games are
around 97% RTP for all these providers?

I dunno Rusty honestly. IMO i would say no as they are not rando as we tend to see strange patterns, juliak would be a great one for this thread, hours and hours of VP play-that lady would see a pattern if there was one.
She actually opened a similar thread about it saying she thought it wasnt random also.

ok looked for that thread that Juliack posted a while back. here it is Rusty.

This woman played thousand upon thousand of VP hands with MG and started to notice something strange
. i know it's VP but its MG and I think it would apply across the board.

They're really just a land casino video slot without the sheet metal and should operate the same way, ie.. generate a random number and map it to the virtual reels. However, a (non progressive) land slot is a separate entity and two or more slots (a bank) side by side can be set at different payback percentages. Three slots each set at 98%, 97%, 96% respectively give an overall payback percentage of 97%.

With online slots does every player playing the same game get an exact copy of the slot or do players playing the exact same game get a copy set with a different payback percentage? Maybe they serve the frequent depositer some lower payback slots.

A shame I have not done the same polls in previous Years it would be interesting to compare results and see which way, if any, the tide is turning.
Maybe next Year.

Just a note to people who pop in these poll threads and do not vote.
That is your choice but no one knows how anyone else voted and your opinion would be welcome, the more people who vote the better, so please do.

I voted no ~! I believe once you download and make attempt to their servers it becomes their own personal way of knowing fully well who is playing based on your IP. Based upon this, if you have won a large amount recently, pissed someone off, or are not a high and frequent roller, you stand less of a chance of winning overall. Now, if you are very friendly, suck up, help bring them players=$, and lose frequently but don't bitch, you might win more often.
I was told by a certain MG group, you cannot play from ANY other computer than the one tied to your IP address. I asked why, they said for security.
Now, if I am the only one in my home that has any of the pertinent info to be able to gain access, why would it matter. I got no reply.
I then spoke via phone and learned that my IP is their way of acknowledging I am who I am, and based on their theory of RNG is based upon your OWN connection to the IP to servers and history.

My own opinion and I am sticking to it ~~

If this were an election and the software providers a candidate then they should be doing all they can to secure those wavering voters ;)

What do we want?
"Random slots!"

When do want them?
"Now!"

:D

I play rtg and mg casinos from my home and from my cottage and also at times from work so thats 3 dif ip addresses. Before i did log in from the cottage i did email rtg and ask them if this would be a prob they told me not at all. They also responded saying the prob arises more so with using online playing from shared ip addresses such as libraries schools and so on.

All I can say is I keep the mail I receive and for this purpose. This was after my attempt to play from another computer in my own home no less and they were fully aware it was in my own home. They say they are not to track players in any way but that is exactly what they did and why I was NOT allowed to play from a different computer. Perhaps, you are an exception to the rule. ( or some rules )
Thank you for your post, it allows me to believe my original theory now more than ever. The site(s) do have their exceptions ;).

Dear XXXX,

Thank you for contacting The VIP Lounge about your account(s) concerns.

I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with our security policies affecting our players gaming accounts.

I want to unconditionally assure you that these policies are not in place to track our players in any way. The policy to lock out any attempts to access your account from a computer address not registered to your account is in place to protect your personal and financial information from unauthorized use of your identity and account funds.

This is in line with our policy that will lock and account if an incorrect password is used three times to access an account. The use of an incorrect e-mail address used to request player information will generate a request for the e-mail to be re-sent from the players registered address. These are just a few examples of the serious extent to which the Jackpot Factory takes our players security.

In contract to many other casinos, Jackpot Factory does not download tracking cookies, spy-ware, ad-ware, malware or other forms of unwanted and potentially dangerous software in our casino software downloads.

I hope you understand and accept that our overriding concern is the responsibility we take for the iron-clad security of our players accounts and their personal information.

I fully understand that at times these policies can be inconvenient, but please be assured that they are not in place to arbitrarily track our players. They are in place solely to protect you from the fraudulent or criminal use of your account information by hackers and identity thieves.

I hope this information has been of help and, should you have any additional questions or comments, please don't hesitate to contact our Customer Service Desk on the toll-free numbers listed below. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your convenience.

Best Regards,
Lex

Hmm, I play from both my home and work location on a wide variety of casinos yet have never had any of these problems :what:

I still dont see how an ip address enables a casino to determine you are who you say you are anyway. I mean my ip adress changes every time i restart my router, so how would that work lol
