Playing a slot after a decent win

So recently there was a discussion about winning too quickly. How about this -

You get a decent win from a slot and cash out.

Its your favourite slot.

Do you

Play on regardless? The "it might be hot" mentality.

Refresh the "session" view the view "it wont know it laid out to ME so might get another win".

Play at another casino - you've taken your "fair share" from this casino for now & it will refresh your session.

Stop playing for a while to let things settle and to make the most of your win?

Something else?

I think I've done all of them at some point. Still not sure which is best, I'd any. My view is it probably depends on your mood.

I almost always stop playing after a big win. My thought (which is based more on superstition than logic) is that it has paid, and now someone has to lose to make up for the win. A balance of negative and positive if you will.

I tend to but I wonder how much sense it makes - for instance, you occasionally see a casino talking about a player who won big a few times in rapid succession.

I tend to play low stakes in the hope of a big win but usually cashout. I'm wondering if its worth taking a bigger gamble with a decent return by upping the stakes... doesn't usually work out!

i normally set myself a modest goal of attempting to double my deposit, i guess it really comes down to what your "big win" is in terms of x stake, for x100 i would probably keep playing if i hadn't hit my goal and was still enjoying the game, anything more then i would have hit my goal most likely anyway and cashed out for another day ,

on a related note i had a monster win on medusa 2 that i posted in the screenshots thread, so good that its close to the maximum in 1 spin, so i dont think i can actually justify playing that slot again as realistically dont think ill ever better it (not without losing 1000's anyway)

If it has been a slot that has consistently battered you up until the moment you got that monster hit then yes, I would say you could justify your decision to never play that slot again.

A few months ago, I managed to get 4 stacked wilds on TDK, so in that respect, I could justify making the choice to never play TDK again. The thing is though, I've done quite well on that slot and it is one of my go to slots for that reason. So I continue to play it, even knowing that I'm never likely to top the 4 stacked wilds. Of course, TDK being a progressive does have that extra lure factor.

So I think your playing history on a specific slot has to be taken into consideration. If you have been consistently lucky on a certain slot, why on earth would you suddenly want to abandon it?

It would be interesting to get the views of those who have managed to get THE holy grail of a 5 reeler on IR or TS2. Or perhaps the views of dunover re:BDBA and Hitman. He has had a knack for getting a few monster hits on those two slots and I do believe he continues to play them to this day.

Lol...(S)hitman is very streaky. If you ever get the max win on the assassin bonus i.e. the 150x on the right side which always seems to apply the 5x multiplier it goes dead afterwards, as it also did when I got the highest sniper symbol top right and top left with 3 wild reels for over 1000x stake. I simply don't go back to it. Megaspin BDBA in normal spins when I get 5 sapphires or gold bars with wild, again it seems to die immediately, so I simply exit - for good at that casino.
Normal BDBA lets you down a little more gently, so I lower the stake after a big win and see how it goes. So, to summarize yes I've certainly found the slots usually 'die' after a big win.

Depends on the slot's behaviour running up to the decent hit

1 - If it has been spitting out a stream of tease wins and double scatters, suggesting it's warming up, I'll keep going.

2 - If it has been ice queen dry and the hit has come out of nowhere I'll probably stop. Sometimes you can feel a slot is so dead that it's almost furious that a nice line dropped on you through the cracks of its grasping fingers :D

But overall the stocktrader maxim of 'let your winners run and cut your losers quickly' is (in my opinion) a good one to use with slots

If I deposit and get quick win I always play more spins, If drying up than close down and open back up to test,
I sed a while ago in screen shoots that a 4 wilds come in than take that as a win than all of a sudden 4 wilds bought in a good win for some 1 and shown on screen's,

I got a 1st spin 4 wilds on IR today I new my luck was shit, I knew it pay shit all,

But does make you think, If we knew this than why keep playing

maybe give it like another 30-50 spins and then quit.....but yeah once Ive won big like over 250x ..... try to leave asap....

If I were to achieve say a £300 hit from a £20 deposit I would most certainly withdraw a couple of hundred and carry on playing the slot, knowing that I'm unlikely to repeat this feat within a single session.

So in effect the remaining £100 becomes like a terminal bankroll that is just for enjoyment of the game.

Previously I might have just jumped to different games but I now I seem quite content to just sit on said favourite slot knowing I have achieved the aforementioned big win, it's almost like a calming effect which essentially proves that gambling is only fun when you can afford to lose the money staked.

play on for abit

if i get a win over lets say 200x ill play on about 10% of the amount won on the biggest win on the game and if it drops quick leave the game.
if it runs ok push another 10% thru see what i get :)
