I've been wondering. Those games that have a feature where you have to pick one or more symbol, and they have a cash prize each. Are the prizes assigned to each symbol and they stay there, or will it be the same prize, no matter which one you choose? :)

It's unbelievably hard to choose the one with the highest win in some games where the wins are shown afterwards, so I would assume the win would be the same low win even if you did choose the highest paying symbol if the game decided you will win X amount, no matter what you choose.

They are predetermined, if u dont believe me start playboy slot, if u r lucky enough n hit the bonus round, choose the rolling reels feature and every time u hit something on a spin click near the win button and it would tell u how much u r going to win on that particular rolling spin. This only happens on download version

Yeah as others have pointed out these are pre-determined but that doesn't stop me from kicking myself when I pick the smallest prize.

I tend to go from right to left you will see that they are pre-determined when you get enough pick me features and you start to see a pattern with going from right to left. Sometimes I decide to pick the nicest looking symbols instead. There's no skill and it will give you what it wants regardless of which symbols you choose.

In Hall of Gods bonus game, where you have to keep picking and breaking the shields until you get 3 of the same, not only is there only one 3 of the same combination, but also the order in which symbols get revealed is predetermined so that more than half of the time you have to break all the 15 shield before you get 3 of the same.

I think there are some games and providers where your choice does effect the outcome, and some where it doesn't. Sorta tough to know sometimes.

There may be cases where regulation requires that that your chances correspond to the physical odds represented - like if you choose a card or roll a die - but I'm not completely sure on this. If you're playing a random slot (as opposed to a compensated/fruit-machine style), I would say that more likely than not your choice actually does matter, because there's no incentive for the casino to program it any other way.

An exception would be games where the outcomes clearly don't have an equal chance. For example, if it's possible to win a million dollar jackpot, or win a consolation prize, you can be pretty sure you're gonna end up with the consolation prize no matter what you pick.

And as far as the point above that you can see your prizes on free spins before the graphics display it, that doesn't mean the whole feature is predetermined, it just means that the random number(s) corresponding to the reels are chosen faster than your graphics starts to display any of the reels - works the same way for a normal spin. It doesn't necessarily mean the whole thing was predetermined from the start.

well on winaday [money storm you pick or keep what you have picked ] on my second pick out of three there was 12$ and i could have stoped there but i opted to pick the last and final one and behold it was much higher at 75$
so on the multiple choice /swap em it does make a difference

I wonder if some of the really big monster prizes might be "hidden" this way ... meaning that you have to turn down quite a nice price in order to win the big one

Well, I've seen several casino operators post that what you pick means diddly. That doesn't mean it isn't random - the game still randomly selects a prize from a pool of all possible prizes, theyre just weighted. so progressives - the machines knows whether you get the big one before you do, regardless of which square you pick, it's selected a prize...the biggie might have been a one in a zillion shot to have been pulled, vs the bitty bitty prize of 10 bucks.

Enzo of 3Dice for example, his team has said the fun interface of picking is eye candy - it makes it fun, it doesn't influence the outcomes.
Free spins are a different kettle of fish

A software provider like Microgaming I feel probably have predetermine results on many things no matter which option you pick.

The rolling reels example someone gave is not a good one though since there is no picking involved during the spin and the method used is just choosing to skip the graphical display and find out the final result of the spin which of course was determined from the moment the reels span.

I remember microgamings video poker would display the restult of a double up before you actually selected your card. This is because the result was determined from the moment you selected "double up" and not from which card you chose.

There are Land Based slots in Vegas that definitely have nothing predetermined during a "pick one" bonus. This has been confirmed by slot developers and the reason given is that the slots are required to be as authentic as possible.

It comes down to what slot you are playing and who designed the game. If there is communiation between your computer and casino server after you have made your selection and not before, then it's fair to say the result was not determined until you made your selection.

im sure they are predetermined. most of them at least. i figured it long time ago when playing playtech slots like Gladiator. after playing that one you can be 100% sure its predetermined, lol. Was even worse when playing scratchards of sorts, forgot its name but its that one where you gotta pick one of 3 vases and the biggest win is ALWAYS on the left side of what you chose. but that was long time ago maybe they changed it to make it less obvious now, idk :p

So you are telling me that in for example secret of the stones the picks are predetermined?
I allways kick myself when I pick those shitty stones.

Not only that I guess but I also think these picks are weighted somehow.
For example there are 2 stones with extra 2 spins (worst picks) and 2 stones turn reel 2 and reel 4 into an expanding wild. I almost always pick one of the 2 spins stones and more than once had them both.
I rarely pick the best ones and never both.

It gives the player the idea it really matters which one you click but in reality I guess this is not the case.
