Just wondering what sorts of things casinos talk about or ask when they call you for phone verification.

Do they ask for your occupation? As a U.S. citizen living abroad, I'm not sure whether it would be wise to mention I play poker for a living/increase the chance that they'd decide to block or bonus-ban me.

You could always say that your employer does not permit employees to divulge such information, perhaps leading the casino on to believe that your job is of a sensitive nature. Being a US citizen living abroad lends credibility to such a claim. If they don't ask, no need to volunteer the information. It may just be that they ask for such things to cover themselves under responsible gambling guidelines, not wanting to take large bets from someone who is living on limited means. In the case of Club World, they are checking for students under the age of 25, who are prohibited from playing there.

As a pro poker player, you could also say "self employed", and give them a broad idea of the kind of spare income you have available for leisure activities. They may worry about losing a potential VIP player for being too nosey.

I suspect that in most cases, it is just to validate the phone number, so they will ask a few questions that only you could possibly know regarding your account, and if you pass, they will know that the phone number and address given ties up.

Usually they just ask about birthdates, names, phone numbers. I don't think I've ever been asked about my employment. I would just say that I'm not at liberty to disclose that... or I say that I work for myself as a writer or something they can't verify.

I've only ever been phone verified by Clubworld casinos, always went very fast, just simple questions like name, date of birth and adress/postalcode.
Nothing to worrie about, no personal things.

To add: The Sloto group does that too....

I have been phone verified many times, always asking for day of birth and address.

Sometimes, the phone call is mainly for marketing purposes. An accredited MG casino offered reversal bonus in the phone verication call. Many shady playtech casinos have called me to verify my account after registration and then have told me about the great 100% offer they have when I already signed up with a 200% one. :D

I have never been asked what I am doing for a living.

are you saying you make a living playing online poker ?? if so you need help with a phone verification

if im off track my apology
