I was just watching MOTD, and enjoying Arsenal getting beaten by Brighton, when I had two emails in the space of 3 minutes to say a total of £1375 had been withdrawn from my online casino account, to a Revolut card that isn't mine. I wasn't logged in at the time. I don't even have a Revolut account.

The online casino in question have suggested I file a police report and notify my bank (Natwest) in order to get my money back.

How the fuck is it my bank's fault when the card used to steal my money isn't theirs? My account has been hacked and my money removed to a card that wasn't registered to the site. It's the equivalent of someone having their car nicked and being told to go back to the car show-room and asking for another one.

I've frozen my bank card just to be safe.

My online casino account has now been deactivated.

What's my next move, folks?

I'll just assume this is some crypto joint? If it's UK regulated then surely that wouldn't fly...

Of course more case specific information is needed. I think the folks here will have some useful info: i'm too much out of the loop these days to say something sensible other than don't play at crypto joints: if it was a UK safe joint then i'll just assume you'll get it sorted. Might be smart to disable any Casino accou8nt you still have money in, or if you use same/similar passwords at other sites, block./change those too..

Whatever casino this is, this is massively concerning. Casinos seriously need to bring in 2 Factor Authentication. Practically everywhere else involving money in any way does these days, even if it's just subscription costs. Even without 2FA, there's no way this should have been allowed.

The casino has an obligation to you to make sure that this never happens. Do a PAB asap. If the casino has a rep in here Max will get it cleared up in no time I'm sure.

Hang on a second, how has the casino allowed a new withdrawal method to be added to your account without verifying that the withdrawal method belongs to you? Surely the name on the card it was withdrawn to is going to be different to yours so they won't be able to have done the withdrawal at the bank level? Seems like the casino has had a massive failing. Hope you manage to get it resolved.

Following this post with interest as had funds removed from my VS account balance recently, due to unrecognised battles, and am going through processes with VS about that.

Been wondering the same kind of things. Casino security seems quite weak in the industry when it comes to things like 2FA. Not just VS, but many others.

Yes with all the use of AI to help hackers, casinos really need to up their game on security and not allowing anyone to withdraw to a new method without some sort of verification is a must, for AML purposes as a bare minimum!

I hope it wasnt VS, as that would worry me as its one of only a couple im playing at.

Didnt this happen before at VS? I am sure there was a thread last year or the year before when the same thing happened and VS washed their hands of it at first but then the customer got reimbursed, I am almost sure there was a thread on CM about it.

Getting worried seeing VS brought up by multiple people.

I don't keep a lot in the balance but I'd still be annoyed if I lost what I kept on there.

Maybe time to withdraw the majority and keep the balance under a tenner.

Please tell us this was a crypto casino and not a UKGC licensed site. And if it was crypto, did you have 2FA enabled (most crypto sites do, and require it for both logging in and withdrawing funds)?

If this was a licensed site then it further blurs the risks between licensed and offshore sites...
