My bank does not have a universal code number as it is a credit union, so with software setups, can no longer withdraw to bank. Ok, so I have been getting cheques.
Well today got a call from my bank on a check deposited over a week week ago, the cashier did not see it was a foreign check, and took it, I spent it, but they told me they can no longer cash them because the checkes were not drawn on a US bank. .. The took the money back out of my account today , and bounced my account. ( payday tomorrow)

This just really sucks. No way to get it paid back now, as there is no way to get it unless they send cash, so it looks like after all these years , I can no longer play,
and in my 12 years playing, never got my random :( Really depressed :(

Was not a huge check, was on a free chip, but ended up costing me bounced fee and the money I never would have spent had I known they would do this. UGGG ..

I have had no luck with ewallets, and after neteller a long time ago, do not trust them anyway..

Why are banks turning down international checkes anyway? It was in US funds, but they said they are not hooked up to a computer system if they are not drawn on a US bank and can no longer cash them. They used to!! So what has chaged?

I would get a new bank

Any of the larger banks will accept a check drawn on any bank in the world as long as it is a good check. The check should be made payable in US Dollars.

Personally I think Wells Fargo is best and tend to mind their own business as long as you are keeping money in their bank.

I don't know what casino you are playing at, however, I was told by OKPay that if my bank didn't have a SWIFT code to put ABA and then my account # - ABAXXXXXXXXX - in the SWIFT code box and that it would work. And it did. Went to my bank no problem.

Slotocash doesn't require one, even though sometimes you have to put something in the box. They gave me a generic number to use or I have used the ABA# also.

I don't know about your bank but the bank I use never questions the checks I deposit (and I have to mail them in because there is not a branch close) but they are a military bank which deals with a lot of international business.

I just took one to my local branch of BOA which was actually written on a BOA in Canada. After looking at it a while and checking it out, they cashed it, no problem.

So, you might need to find another bank for this kind of stuff.

I have to agree with this. They definitely mind their business and over the years have never asked one question  You may want to consider at least opening a 2nd account so that you can have withdrawals rather than quitting gambling entirely.

Where I live , there is only my credit union and BOA. I have heard others had issues with BOA.
Yeah the slotocash, ( well desert nights) I can do it, but I never ever win there, believe me I beat that dead horse a few times.

My bank changed something in the last year, their website and everything is different, they hooked up with the FEDS somehow, and now cant do anything.
They used to be great. It sucks .

I wish the other RTGS would figure a way to pass without swift code. So you put ABA# in the box with account and it went through? Did you just leave a note in the message box below it?

Forgot to add, they said they can not take international checkes because they DONT have a swift code, and have to fed x the check to the bank themselves , so they just no longer do it. So I wonder , if that will now affect ach as well.

This is old news...Sorry to hear your troubles.

I have been warning players about taking checks now for a very long time (a year or longer I believe) but yet, it seems no one is listening. This has been an ongoing issue with many casinos facing the USA. STOP playing at casinos that will not pay in other forms of withdrawals. DEMAND withdrawal options and play at places that will WORK with you. ASK before you deposit.

The casinos you stop playing at when denied options on withdrawals will lose out will get the message loud and clear very quickly if one sticks to their guns and stop depositing where one cannot withdraw under other options. Checks have been a red flag for a LONG time for USA players....

Anyone listening out there???

.

these casino's know the drill and should send you a check from inside the continent [they know this its B S if they say otherwise ]

You can open a wellsfargo account online, i did. They mail you the debit card.. Then download there app and deposit checks by phone.. It works i do it..

I am currently having this same issue. I received my check today (Canadian bank) and I tried to cash it at a BofA ( dont have an account with BofA or any bank for that matter, I use pre paid debit cards) then I went to a check cashing place and they declined to cash it as well. So I came home and applied for a BofA account online and it will take a few business days to see if I get approved for an account.. but even if I get approved, I suppose from everything I read researching, this bank will hold the check for weeks if not months to clear..? I dont think Ill be approved for a bank account (had some banking issues in the past)

My last option is to contact the casino and hope they can pay me out some other way.. :(

Yeah this does suck. I think they should send us preloaded debit cards. Seems like a viable soultion to cash out. You can buy the things all over the place and the fees are cheaper than the other cash out options!

I can't find my thread, but I had a similar problem last year. My small bank took my check deposit (as it had a couple years before), then days later I got a return check notice in the mail. Well it wasn't a bad check, the bank simply couldn't process international/Canadian checks. Picked up my check and took it to a larger bank in town where I have an account and the teller said 'no problem' as we have a lot of Canadian snowbirds here in winter and the bank is accustomed to processing international checks.

to balehead... not exactly the same issue as amatrine's. The casinos always tell us to deposit the checks, not cash them. You must be sure the bank can process international checks.

And I agree, it would be really nice if something other than wire or check were an option for withdrawal. Wires cost me way too much - especially taking into consideration that my (count on one hand) withdrawals for the past 2 years have been under $500 each.

But... I hold my breath regardless of the method of withdrawal fearing one of my banks will call closing an account or slapping me on the wrist for 'questionable' transactions.

you know ive said this many times SEND CASH INSURE THE DELIVERY TO THE RECIEPENT UPON SIG REQUESTED
its done with jewelery .stocks and bonds ,collectable coins witch are MONEY,

In this day and age there is NO risk sending cash it's good in America for all debts public and private

PS they talk about nervous paranoid players with tinfoil hats WTF this is there own industry it be the same as a person opening a sandwich shop and being afraid to sell there first sandwich [ this is there own turf under there feet ]

More casino's (us facing) should take an example from InetBet they send checks drawn on a bank from the US that are pretty well located in every major city in the US. I walk across the street on my lunch break when i get a check from them and cash it right at their bank so I have no worries about it being good or my bank questioning it. Although it would be nice if they offered better options to people from the states at least I never have had an issue with any of there payments. (knocking on wood as I type lol) I do agree with most others here though we should refuse to deposit at any establishment that will not agree to do a payout in a manner that is convenient for us I imagine if all US players started making a fuss about it some of the better establishments would do what was needed to keep us depositing with them. They pay a processor to handle there pay outs so I am sure it would not be hard to find a processor willing to go the extra step for the business it would bring them. There are a few other US facing casinos who do quick transfers that you can pick up at a kiosk in your local grocery store you just have to look around and also talk with customer reps from places you play as some of them do payments in ways they do not post publicly and only if you ask them about it.

It all depends on the Bank and how long you have had an account, if it is a small branch bank and they know you , should be no problems:D

A Canadian drawn check will clear overnight in most cases, know this to be fact !

Also if you have the money in your checking or savings that covers the check then they will usually cash it straight out..................BOA = Bank of Crooks, they are the worst of the lot.

National banks may clear them overnight but that is only if you have an account with them or the check is drawn on that national bank. you probably just missed it but he said he did not have an account at any bank and the check was on a Canadian bank. I am no expert but from my experience they usually dont clear them any faster than a few days and that is if you have always had good standings on your account with them. For instance my bank ( A well known National bank) has a holding period on out of country checks until the check physically clears the bank it is drawn on anywhere from 6 - 12 days. However this has been waived for me as I have never had a negative balance and have several investment accounts at this bank so they don't worry about getting stuck with a bad check. My bank also has branches in canada and I received a check drawn on my bank but from the canada branches this one was cleared and credited instantly as they had direct access to verify the account.
