French star Nicolas Anelka has been thrown off his nation’s World Cup team after getting into a heated exchange with coach Raymond Domenech and refusing to apologize.

If players in the NFL, NBA or MLB got kicked off the team for arguing with there coach there would be no players left on any team to play the games.

Especially when the whole team is very near on their way back to the airport..

I feel gutted for Anelka as he never got a decent pass in one and a half games for France. I think he was made the scapegoat for the coach's shortcomings. He tried his nuts off but was being asked to play with his back to goal when it is never his game.

I don't blame the French players for going on strike as the coaching is clearly so awful.

I guess, tomorrow we will read some news about who had an intimate affair with some other players girlfriend, and that the goalie is the long forgotten son and lost his memorys until the moment when Frank R. went to a underaged prostitute.

I'm not even into soccer/football/futball/etc. but I have to say I have been enjoying watching this World Cup.
Between the swarms of bees/vuvuzelas, the strange upsets and the US actually holding their own it's been kind of addicting to watch.
Plus I love the fact that these grown men are such drama queens on the pitch when they get brushed by anyone or anything, rolling around like someone has just taken a set of pliers to their manparts.

They have a call similar to the one in hockey termed "diving", (meaning faking to try to draw a penalty) in soccer, yes? They need to call it WAY more often.
