Hi Everybody,

I just started playing for fun at several online casinos. I've also been reading up on everything I could find at Casinomeister (and other sites) regarding which casinos were most reputable. Now I'm considering playing for real money and have been scouring past threads regarding the various software companies the casinos use. I know this was/is a hot topic (I read over a big, heated thread from you guys back in Jan/Feb of this year) and would appreciate some up-to-date impressions of the two most prevalent SW as of Fall '06.

Specifically, I only play Blackjack (Atlantic City rules, usually). I have downloaded and opened accounts with Mummy's Gold, River Belle and Kiwi. I must say I MUCH prefer the graphics and easier-to-understand menu system of the Playtech software, but many have said they prefer MG. If I use a reputable casino like one of the ones mentioned above, does the software make a difference?

Your opinions are much appreciated.

For a more fair BJ game (IMO), stick with MG :)

I d avoid Microgaming for blackjack. Their software is too tight to be won. Between the two of them, I ll choose Playtech. Of course, I am amazed by the gold series blackjack that Microgaming created. It is a sweet for your eyes.

Not staying only to the two software providers you mentioned, I ll propose you to put some money in a Cryptologic casino ( Intercasino , William Hill).

I hope I helped.

My favorite place for BJ is BoDog which is a RTG casino. Seems really fair. I've never had any luck at Playtech or MG when it comes to BJ.
Thanks for the reply. Have read some unflattering things about BoDog; how have they been for you on payouts?

They are without a doubt the best I have encountered in terms of payout. I usually have it in my firepay account within 2 hours tops (usually a lot less time).

They're very good at responding to e-mails also. They are by one of, if the best, RTG's out there in my opinion!!

If I had to chosse between Playtech and MG I'd play on microgaming: on 32 red. It's the best casino around and as a loyal customer you get a good monthly bonus.

Both softwares are perfectly fair though. The above advice to try out the cryptos is also good!

Thanks to everyone for the replies. It does seem there is no one consensus on this question. I really hadn't considered any of the other SWs mentioned. Although I had DLed the MG casinos like Mummy, River Belle and 32Red, I really liked the interface of the Playtech software better. The one Playtech casino everyone recommended was Kiwi. I'm starting to get a little more used to the MG interface now - still not sure I like it as much as Playtech.

Haven't tried RTG with Bodog yet. My first ever casino download was Casino Tropez, which was Playtech and I really found it to be easy to navigate and fun to play. It looks like Tropez might be a bad casino, though, based on some forum posts. So I haven't opened an account with them.

Perhaps opening several accounts and funding each modestly is the way to go. The next question is whether I should take advantage of any of these bonuses. The terms seem awfully draconian...

BoDog's wagering requirements are really fair, and you'll get a 10% bonus on all deposits after the first one. I forget exactly what their first deposit bonus is. Might be 100%.

And if you get a big win and don't want to finish the wagering requirements they'll just remove the bonus amount from your bank and you can cash out the rest!

If you're taking a bonus make sure you ALWAYS read the T&C's - many places do not allow BJ play with bonuses - or only count it at reduced %.
Best is Crypto because most allow blackjack at 100% in WR.
Good luck!

I did just deposit $500 at BoDog for the 10% bonus. Evidently I have to wait for the amount to clear before I can wager with it. Sure did clean house earlier today on their play money system...

Blackjacking on BoDog quite well!

I have to say "Big Thanks" to you, Bears! I made my initial deposit on BoDog and was confused at first that I had to transfer from "ecash" to casino chips. Once I finally did this, I started wagering my stake plus the $50 bonus. I am currently up $500 and am enjoying myself (obviously!).

Now I only wish I had gotten my account through you on their referral program. I didn't know they had one beforehand. Sorry! :(

Of the wo software suppliers - best luck at MG.
Although I woulf not play at either without a bonus and most promotions do not allow BJ.

The best BJ game on the net at mainstream casinos is Crypto Single Deck BJ.

This game has an EV of -$2 for every $10,000 bet, factoring in comps. If you play the Wizard of Odds Composite Exception rules it is just about a player positive expectation game.

Only drawback is the minimum $25 bet. But that shouldn't worry you really as it only affects variance and that cuts both ways. Betting bigger tends to generate bigger bonus offers anyway and that is the real name of the game. :)

I believe there is a positive expectation player single deck game on Boss Media if you can find it. Never played that myself though.

Best casino to play is Intercasino, no doubt imo.

Good, informative post, Mitch. I appreciate it. I have been playing Blackjack at BoDog (RTG) and at River Belle (MG) I have played Atlantic City and Super Fun 21, which I read was a good single-deck game.

Your thoughts?

That name sounds familiar from some old threads I've been reading through here at Casinomeister. Have they had detractors?

Both these casinos are good and safe ones.

Blackjack house edges are very similar so it depends on your software preference, comps and bonuses, you need to work out your EV for your sessions if you are serious about trying to win money over the long term.

At Superfun 21 you are losing nearly 3 times more money to the housedge on every bet compared to BJ, which doesn't sound such 'SUPER FUN' to me.

A word of warning Tailgun, willpower is by far and away the most important factor in deciding whether you come out winning or not. If you know you haven't got good control then you are likely to get into trouble. See KasinoKings posts and visit his website for more info. (I only mention this because you appear to be new to internet gambling and people often get carried away with the chase after what appears to be easy money. It ain't easy mate and the casinos know this!)

Mitch in the other post regarding your winnings in Cryptologic lately you said that you received more than 10.000 in bonuses. Here, you say "Betting bigger tends to generate bigger bonus offers".

As I m not a high roller myself is it easy for you to tell some of the special offers?? I guess you played at Intercasino. Do they offer a special player's club or something like that? What do the special bonuses look like?

Thanks! :)
