Dropped €200 into Redbet and it's off and running now at 50cents per spin, I'm going to stick on quick spins even with real money, it's just too slow otherwise IMO. I've turned animations back on though as it doesn't affect the speed it plays at and it looks a bit prettier.

Well I didn't have much luck on Evolution last night, it chewed through €200 in about two hours (albeit on quick spin), think the best hit I had was in the region of 65x stake or so.

I'm going to have another crack at in the near future though, for some reason I really quite like it, even though it was very mean to me last night

I had a go on Evolution last night with 100 free spins which RedBet very kindly gave me (probably cos I wrote nice things about them on my website )

Basically I have to agree with what the others have said above. I was lucky enough to hit 4 scatters for 15 free-spins which paid fairly well (about bet x50 if I recall correctly). If it had only been 10 free-spins I think the return would have been pretty poor.

I don't know if it was my (wife's) laptop or my internet connection (which IS crap) or whether the game does play really slow for everyone - but I did soon get frustrated with how slow it was. The spinning was OK, but it took a long time after one spin before I could start the next one. IMHO that needs changing.

Well it WAS one of those things - I played it again on my Laptop with a decent internet connection and it was about 3 times faster!
Honestly, that first time was like watching a slow-mo action replay

Pretty crazy spins for the unknown quantity of a new slot KK, €2 spins on a €100 bankroll is crackers, even €1 per spin TBH.

I wouldn't take on Starburst (possibly the single lowest variance slot I can think of) on €1 per spin with a €100 bankroll.

Have you scanned over the paytable to look what sort of hit its capable of? From there it's possible to have a stab at guessing the variance.

I generally look to have at least 200x my stake as my bankroll to play with, even on a low variance slot.

Just had a look at Betsafe, right off the bat you can see that the top win is stated as 480,000 coins. This contrasts pretty sharply with Starburst, with its maximum prize of 50,000 coins.

So where Starburst has a top hit of 500x stake, Wild Rockets has 4800x stake, which is up into Reel Steal/Dead or Alive territory. However, the top hit of a slot doesn't necessarily define its variance.

I've already got Starburst going on the media centre PC for my continued quest to hit 500x stake, I'll have Wild Rockets going all night on my own PC and see if I can get a feel for it. By the time it turns up at Redbet I should know if I want to play it for real or not

Wild Rockets has an RTP of 96.7%, which isn't amazing by Netent standards but it's still a good solid RTP.

I'm guessing the maximum hit on this slot is the three middle reels stacked fully wild, and the top paying symbols on 1+5 plus whatever other symbols they would come with on that spin.

I tried this out yesterday afternoon for about 30mins, for play money as I don't have an account there. Variance was on my side it seemed, and I managed these wins below, and also a 4 scatter hit. The free spins can be retriggered, which happened once - and to answer your question KK, yes it seemed that the Wild Rocket symbol appeared a lot more frequently during the free spins. I played 3 bonus rounds in that 30min period of playing, so no, it definitely doesn't give a true representation of the slot, but that was my experience in that short period of playing. I found it to be a fun slot, very different from the usual stuff we're all used to. Again we have to say a massive kudos to NetEnt for once again creating another extremely original and innovative slot.

Following on from zepher, here's my 2000 spin impressions and early-doors review.

After 1000 : Balance €4859 - FS1, 117x - FS2, 7x - FS3, 5x - FS4, 28x - FS5, 23x - FS6, 21x.

After 1500 : Balance €5402 - FS1, 22x - FS2, 15x, FS3(retrig), 44x - FS4(retrig), 119x - FS5(retrig), 209x - FS6, 20x - FS7, 59x - FS8, 220x.

Spins played - 2000 (approx, will have been a bit more than that).

Free spins round frequency is pretty decent, every 125 spins or so on average, but can pay very poorly (less than 10x stake).

Rocket wilds are far more common in free spins, this is where the big hits will be.

I think KK called the variance about right, it's got a low-medium variance vibe to it, although it does have a massive 4800x hit on the paytable. (Probably as rare as five reels wild in Wild Desire )

I certainly wouldn't peg it at high variance, probably not even a true medium variance slot for that matter. It kind of 'feels' a bit like Beach in terms of pays, and I'd peg that at low-medium. Wild Rockets is maybe weighted a bit more towards medium.

OVERALL - I like this slot, once again Netent manage to chuck some unique ideas out there, the rocket wilds are very exciting in free spins. Slick graphics and sound along with fast, fluid gameplay, and what seems to be a weighting of the RTP towards 100-200x stake wins - along with a nice solid RTP - makes for an excellent new slot IMO. Decent profit potential without the deathly experience that taking on a high variance slot can be.

Do note however, that like Beach and Evolution, (Netent's other slots that seem to have a similar sort of profile), this will chew through a bankroll pretty quickly on a bad run. (If you look at the stats above I only landed one free spins round in my first 500 spins, which paid 75x stake. The last 500 weren't much better either.)

I'd say your absolute starting point for taking this slot on should be a bankroll of 200x your stake, and personally I'd feel more comfortable with 300-350x or greater. (That's based on sticking it out until random numbers give you a reasonable chance of hitting something decent.)

I'll definitely be firing this one up in real money when it arrives at Redbet

Got a little bit of revenge later last night; Deposited another €100 - but went to play Rapunzel's Tower first (to make sure I didn't blow-out on Rockets before giving this one a try, like I did the first time!). I just picked the list from that thread up last month, brought it up to date and filled in the gaps, took about 45 minutes

I always think time spent understanding the games you're gambling on is time well spent, hence me wanting a comprehensive list of Netent RTPs to refer to, (since I play almost 100% exclusively Netent games now), and it's also why I tend to have a pretty long session on a new slot in free play before I decide to chuck real money at it. (Hence the 2000+ spins I played through Wild Rockets last night in free play.)

I'm certainly not going to try and work out the variance of all the slots, that's something it's only possible to make any sort of judgement on after about 2000 spins minimum, and ideally more like 10000 spins.

On top of that, a lot of Netent's old slots are, if I'm frank about it, pretty crap. Real basic affairs with simple wilds, a three scatters or more free spins round at 3x pay, and that's about it...... Their slots have got a lot better over the last couple of years as far as I can tell.

Have you had a SERIOUS go on Groovy 60's (or one of it's two clones) yet?
I would have thought they would be right up your street - very simple basic slots, but pretty high variance too!
They have a LOT of extra stacked wilds added to the reels during free-spins, and a top hit potential in those spins of total bet x 2,000 per spin.

I think Groovy 60's is still the slot where I've had my biggest ever win (by multiplier and excluding random Jackpots); bet x878.

I must advise everyone to play this slot with caution; I have played it for real on three separate occasions - the second one was OK and I managed to win a little bit, but the first and last sessions I went many 100s of spins without once getting the free-spins. The free-spins appears to be where the vast majority of the RTP comes from - so if you don't hit them, you're likely to end up feeling "mugged" like I was...

My advice regarding Nordicbet. Never use Internet Explorer when playing there. It freezes all the time, scripterrors, can't play full screen.
I changed to Chrome and it playes perfectly. No problems at all
