New M4 Macbooks and Refreshed Mac Mini on the Horizon!

Next week is looking to be a super week if Apple floats your boat. With Apple set to make daily announcements starting on Monday 28th October a load of new products.

These include new M4 powered Macbook Pros and a completely redesigned Mac Mini - the first time it will feature a new design since 2012.

I am waiting to upgrade my M1 macbook air to M4, looks like I need to wait to next year, one think about Apple I dont like they start making M chips like pragmatic makes big bass slots

Yes, just the Pros being released next week. Although if the leaks for the M4 Macbook Pro are to be believed, you may want to consider that.

As it will now have 3 USB C ports rather than 2 on the M3 MacBook Pro. Also reported to come with 16GB memory as well as the 512GB SSD. £1500 I would argue better value than the M3 Air or the
M4 Air which will come out in 2025

As for upgrading. My M2 Pro MacBook Pro will last at least another 5 years or more.

However, I am keeping an eye out next week to see what the M4 Mac Mini is like. That could be a potential replacement for my 2020 27' Intel iMac. But even then, this machine is very solid. 96GB memory helps mind LOL

Why do casino reps have to be vetted and follow rules regarding advertisement but apple reps just do whatever they want?
No way a casino rep would be allowed to spam this many threads promoting their site.

Its funny when you own a macbook. Its just a laptop but that laptop is like $2000. I own one and think what if I drop it and it smashes. I just lose 2k like that lol. This is my first one I bought last year ..I dont ever see how I can back to average Joe laptops now. Which is depressing. I dont really feel great being committed to such expensive devices

if you pay by Amex or Revolut bank card is 12 month coverd,if you drope at home, your home insurance will cover, you can also pay insurance just for laptop

These threads remind me of the mid 90's or early 2000's when folk had genuine enthusiasm over tech and description of capabilities.

The last I read re TVs was that the trumpeted 8k was hitting the buffers due to energy consumption, in the UK we haven't really rolled out 4k broadcasts yet (not terrestrial), if Starmer and labour wanted to get some plaudits he could do that, otherwise everyone has a 4k set busily watching 720 or 1080p on it!

Apple is alright, I can see it's cleverly done, but if you're not running a home business or projects involving tech, like making and uploading videos or websites, then it's going to be largely wasted on you, just using 10% of the things available to complete basic tasks like email and word processor.

Pah 4K, the new M4 iMac's allow you to display content onto an external 8K display via the thunderbolt ports

Today Apple have announced the new smaller Mac Mini powered by M4 and M4 Pro. Look away @maxd !!

Starting at £599 this is for Apple, indeed any computer manufacturer, unbelievable value for money!

If and when I replace my 2020 iMac, this is most definitely the route I am going down.
Apple are stating that M4 Pro is up to twice as fast as M2 Pro!!

Now the M4's are being released across the Mac lineup this week. I would wait. MacBook Pro's being announced tomorrow.

Saying that, I would not consider upgrading from even an M1 to M4. Whilst an improvement, the M1 is still very very capable, as the jump from Intel to Apple Silicon was considerable.

My M2 Pro MacBook Pro is likely going to last me another good 5 - 6 years before I would even consider upgrading. It is that good.
