New Forum Banners Chokes IE11

I've tried giving it time to see if it would work itself out, but it hasn't... Not too long ago, banners began to appear at the top of the forum for USA players (we hadn't seen any banners in ages).. and that's when this began....

I come to the forum in IE11 (on my desktop here, or on the one at work) and the forum page will load only down to the banner. Sometimes if I wait, 15 seconds later, the forum will load in. Sometimes, I get the old 'this page cannot be displayed'. Then I just have to start the whole thing over again. Also, I get the 'page cannot be displayed' 9 times out of 10 when I try to submit a post, and have to do it all over again.

Basically, the forum is just about unusable for me with IE11 these days.

If I access the forum with Chrome, voila! - it loads right up. And most times, it won't crap out when I try to post.

So... is there anything I can do to make my IE11 work better with the forum and these new banners?

It is not just IE11, t is same for IE8 and IE 9. I reported this last week to webmaster but have not heard or seen any correction. I am glad you are having this same issue because it makes me feel as if I am not imagining this problem.

I hope someone gets it fixed, and soon. Been happening for weeks now with mine. I won't use chrome because of who it connects with and the invasivness of the program. It will totally take over your computer...very bad browser.

I'm glad it's not just me.

I have had heck with the forum for 2 weeks or more. I have gone as long as 2-3 days with it not loading. I get the 'page cannot be displayed' message every time. Then the next day, it may load fine.

Tried Chrome and sometimes it works and sometimes not.

I notified Bryan and he said try Chrome and if it didn't load, then ask on forum. Then for 2 days I couldn't get the website to open. LOL!

Today it's working fine, the last 2 days, not at all.

I open to any suggestions.

Same here, IE 9. I've found when it stops below the banner if I click on fourm again the page loads.

Funny I just tried in IE and it works fine for me. Have you tried disabling ALL of your add-ons just to see if it makes any difference?

I have reported this thread and asked it be moved to Forum Feedback section since it's not just me having this problem. And like I said, it's not just on this computer, it's the same on my computer at work, and on my old laptop. Something's gotta give here.

I'm typing this in Chrome, so hopefully, I'll not have to redo it more than once or twice before it goes thru. LOL (note to self: copy post before clicking submit)

I've tried disabling all addons. Turned off AV/IS. It makes no difference. Sometimes the forum eventually loads, but posts only get me 'page cannot be displayed'. And it's agony going from one page to another as another banner must load up. And it's the same all over again.

And a side note. It's not much better in Chrome, but it is better. The forum is all but unusable in IE.

Yep that's exactly what mine looks like, too Silc! And when I hit refresh or click the Forum tab, it loads a different banner and we start all over again.

From this side, no banners if that's what you intended.
Though, I should mention, the banners never impacted the forum loading here

Didn't have a banner opening so it worked just fine.

Will let you know if it locks up again.

I'm using IE 10 and I've had no issues.

Back when my browser auto-updated to 11 half of the real series slot games at Bodog quit working. Just a blank screen. Basically it was all the ones that played full screen. The windowed ones worked fine.

I downgraded back to 10 and haven't had any issues since.

I don't know why people insist on fixing things that aren't broken. It's the quickest way to make sure it is.

I thought it might have something to do with security settings and cookies, but with no banners I can't test my theory. That's ok I was probably wrong anyhow.

The US banners were targeted by state (since we have NJ visitors, I wanted them to be aware of Borgata) which may have bogged down the forum for US visitors. Visitors from non US are the majority here, so I'm guessing the lag was not noticed by them. But, I've shut off the top banner for the time being.
