Be Very Careful

Take it for what it's worth, but I would hope that everyone will be careful and think twice before signing up with a payment processor that no one seems to know anything about. Unfortunately, there will be people who are so desperate to play, that they're willing to try anything to deposit money. This is when the real shady operators may rear their ugly heads, hoping to cash in on the desperation and make a quick buck. Think twice before giving out personal and/or banking info to a site you've never even heard of.

Let the people in the know (like Bryan, Jet, Spear, Greedy...among others) do some research. Don't forget that ICE starts in four days, and I'd bet the farm that this topic will be high on the list. I personally am having trouble with my first weekend (and probably being snowed/iced in...making me both stir crazy and majorly bored isn't helping) without the option to play any casino games online at all. Never mind the financial worries that sometimes follow, but all considered, it sucks for me and for all of us US players.

My personal opinion is that there is far too much money here for someone not to figure out a way to let us do what we want with our hard earned money what we wish. There is even a balance between political philosophies...some want more freedom, some favor less and it seems like those who control two houses seem to support freedoms...and higher taxes...and hopefully freedoms. Many think that they stand for freedom and against regulation...I personally think that they will do absolutely nothing for our cause.

My point is that I think that all of us (me included) probably needs to just relax and know that this will eventually work itself out. I believe that I'll one day be able to do what I've been doing for the last six or seven years again without jumping through hoops.

I am not at all advocating not getting involved in the political process. We should all be contacting senators/congressmen, etc., but I think that the true underlying motive behind this nonsense is money and that the government has not gotten its cut. I don't pretend to know what needs to be done to fix this, but I do believe that this is what is driving the crackdown. Some or many of the involved believe that a higher good is being served, but we all know the reality.

In any case, I personally am going to bite the bullet, sign up to click2pay when/if they let me, and will participate in this incredibly entertaining pastime that has met my needs (with two small children in the house...no time to jet off to Vegas) perfectly for several years...Oh, yeah, and I've been lucky enough not to murder my personal finances either. So this takes away the harming the family argument.

I'll sum up my points: This sucks. We'll survive. Alternitives will arrive. We'll come back.

Actually Im quite familiar with the Legislative process in the USA - and with fact that the president has power of veto. I also know he has clout in his own party, so IMO he is as much to blame for this fiasco as the legislators.

Im sorry I left the others out - I was just using the person who ultimately signed the bill into law as a focal point.

There was no need to belittle my personal opinion, without having the common decency of either stating your own or giving reasons why mine is so uninformed.

Loveman will continue to run the company which he wanted to take private in order for his future business plans to not be subject to Wall Street scrutiny per se. What tree might his future plans include climbing that a private company would not be subject to shareholder's and analyst's immediate need for quarterly gratification??????????? Of course, the company will become highly leveraged in the short term and will have to sell off certain assets. I predict Rio will be the first as its value may never be greater than now due to the WSOP and a Caesars sale (not a salad) would greatly reduce the debt burden. Certainly, Loveman knows a future venture into online gaming would be an investment that would not produce the immediate quarterly results that shareholders require but the long term growth potential is expontential and more suitable for a company not under pressure to produce quarterly earnings growth,etc. Then perhaps ironically just like the Frist family has done once and in the process of repeating with HCA, the money will be made long term when the company known as Harrahs goes public again.
