My stolen Casino details hacked

I agree Jon chats good.

Think the bit that annoys some members tho is that theres a time and a place for chat.

Most times its okay but when some threads are made wanting a serious point to get across get took over and derailed by chat it loses the whole point of the thread .

For example a member could make a valid and serious point about a casino. There can be a debate then someone else will make a light hearted comment and before you know it theres a couple of pages of jokes and puns which is fair enough and often funny. But it also means the thread gets derailed and takes away from what could have been a serious thread to the OP.

What thread on the internet doesn't get derailed? Like aforementioned, if the topic warrants a serious tone then you're not going to get people quipping off the bat. Take the start of this thread for example. You're also ignoring the fact that not everybody reacts the same way to the same situations, unless we're supposed to give scripted answers to every post?

I do see both sides of the coin on this one.

In fact I like the social aspect / chat / banter sides of things and I also think truth be known a lot of members do.

Yes for the 'old school' these changes can come across as a PITA, more so when it seems it may be taking over the 'serious' stuff.

Thing is things change, times change, people change and we can all still make positive contributions moving forward.

These chat and banter related stuff may not come across as helping but If I've just busted (again ) and I happen to spot/read a bit of sarcasm, a friendly dig, a bit of banter, it helps! - that's just one small example :D

I respect the rules and expectations of Casinomeister and I am prepared to abide by them. I made an error in posting this thread in this section. I understand that. But forum nazi's get my goat.
I get there is a place for it. Personally I suspect that some banter and social interaction helps to increase and retain traffic. But maybe I am wrong?

Point is tho that many threads with a serious tone do get derailed with jokes etc. and go totally of subject.

It has nothing to do with scripted answers. If someone has a serious problem and is looking for advice then thats what they want. They dont want to come back the next day and find their threads been took over by needless rambling which is completely irrelevant to their original problem.

Didn't realize that people had ownership of threads. If left on an open forum for everybody to comment on, then that's not good enough?

Perhaps only things you want to hear? And you make it sound like every thread is hijacked by the Benny Hill Brigade, but then it would appear like that to members who hardly ever frequent these boards and just pop out to chuck in their tuppence worth.

Their was nothing wrong with your post or thread Colin.

The forum needs fun threads and a good laugh and fun. Your post was done correct in the sense that it was a new thread and thats best way to have a laugh.

The more fun threads and laughs the better. If everyone started a new thread to have a laugh its great its only when someones needing help or taking their thread serious when it gets took over and derailed that the OP might feel annoyed.

Like i said earlier time and place. Anyway think i better shut up lol

I agree with you about derailing something serious. I agree that I put this in an off limits section. But it was of its own so it was not effecting a serious discussion.
Maybe it is a good time to clarify what is on and off limits?

Well think its a waste of time trying to explain what i was meaning.

And personally i dont give a damn what people post. I was merely stating why it would annoy some people.

Guessing the comment about members who hardly frequent the place was meant at me lol.

I post when i feel like it but im online every day.

Maybe reason others dont post as much is because of reasons already explained. Anyway have a nice evening:D

Get the 'thanks' button going after reading you lot......:p

My bad, should have made my post clearer, was a quick post as I desperately tried to bust these last few pennies so I can take my flu ridden ass to bed.

What I meant is pretty much what you said Paul, I can understand just how frustrating not to mention annoying a derail can be.

Time and a place and all that. Thing is there is no training manual as such with CM so we're never going to cure it altogether and I for one am as guilty as charged on more than one occasion

The only thing I can think of right now and it is far from a cure/fix is to read between these posts, to those who it bothers let it go over your head as annoying/frustrating as you may find it, I'm sure if a particular thread is heading too much off the rails then the boss man will step in with his big stick.

If it were not for CM, I think I'd 'speak' with erm, let me think, next to no-one all week, yes shit social life but there you have it, that's having young kids late in life for ya  - I do however strongly feel that I am not alone on this one. (The social bit not the kids)

We've (did I say we ) tried a fix in 'The Casinomeister bar and grill' a sort of anything goes type thread otherwise I'd suggest this as a partial cure.

I hope you make more sense of this post than I have as I know what I mean sitting here but have done a fucking awful job of 'putting it down on paper'

Bed Beckons, I look forward to several e-mail notifications regarding this thread in the AM

I think that the idea of a forum is for as many people as possible to feel comfortable posting in it. That includes the old guard and newcomers.

I think that its fair enough to get some clarification of what all posters want

So.........censorship?

Maybe give people a safe space?

I get you Jono mate. I have a partner who works in social care and can be away for 24 hours 4 days a week or more. Her daughter is young and I am getting myself back to full fitness after a few ops. I'm not whining here. Its just my reality. Plenty of real life friends but the social aspects not there at the moment.

OK my take:

I concur with Paul here in that there have been many instances of new(ish) people recently getting threads trivialized, derailed and frankly turned into a exhibition of unchained wit when serious responses or help may have been in order, and indeed expected or at least hoped for by the OP.

That said, I have thanked/liked numerous jocular responses on CM from all people in this thread and have indulged myself with the same jocular replies and/or photos on occasion - examples the P*rnhub thread or when I myself post a video of a new slot and it's utter shite and starts a string of nonsense off, usually after I ridicule it in the video. :)

What I am getting at is that all of us in this thread are 'mature' members here (at least in time served/posts lol) and should really know where to draw the line in our own minds as well as regarding how other posters see us.

There are ample opportunities to vent our humour when we get bogus complaints, spammers and crap games and all I hope for is that in some way all us class comics can direct our brilliant wit more appropriately. Yes, we all know each other but if I was a stranger here and read some threads I'd be asking "Is this somewhere I want to post or will I get taken seriously?"

This would limit the supply of 'new blood' here and we'd end up like the same 10 or-so forum inbreds forever, to the detriment of us all, boring each other towards inactivity.

Just sayin' that going forward from here some restraint may be the order of the day. Cheers

Those poor snowflakes. Never knew that the occasional banter had such a detrimental effect on their CM experience.

Perhaps they should just stay off the internet in general, too many scary people on it.

9 times out of 10 a 'serious thread' will be started by a new member who is using CM to shame a casino into paying them, and on those occasions when a thread is derailed the main points have already been covered or answered.

And as long as I've been here there have always been moderators to keep people in line anyway, so this boils down to certain members simply not liking what others have to say. Well, they can do one as for as I'm concerned, and I won't be changing my posting style.

And to actually think I tone it down for CM, you'd never have guessed it.

PS sorry to derail further i will try get this moved to Dunover's Slot review thread instead. :) Just wanted to try cheer this thread up.
My other post has been moved to Dunover Tarzan slot review thread.

Also I don't think to bad about OP's original post here it is a funny one but imho i think it would belong to be on facebook only that's really where it really should be posted or used. If it had been posted in "the attic" from start and maybe a different subject then there would had been no problems at all

I don't agree :D I actually see potential in this and had okay sessions. I trust Microgaming more than many of the other providers like net ent. Seems this one is capable of giving very big wins even in normal spins. I have already hit wilds stacked on first couple reels and paid over 50x and I am sure there will be a over 500x soon or else i will make sure to post in screen shots when i get it.

I don't understand the hate towards this slot from most people here i noticed i actually find it okay and certainly better than that the other original "clone" Bridesmaids. I guess problem is you can go many rounds before getting that wheel. And it sucks if only getting a silly small multiplier. I would suggest don't go all in on this slot just play it when bit up and have profit then just give it 50 spins and you might get lucky and yes you do need to hit those free spins (big potential) or at least the bonus

Will agree its not on my top list but will say Dragonz is brilliant and i'm up total on that and its among my favorite slots.

Reported for major f*cking derailment

I was extremely upset and gutted, initially, when I clicked on the link Colin; my integrity was pushed into my face with the FB link. I felt , HELP! I would never do anything to any other member here. I come here because of our collective appreciation of gambling and Casinomeister.

I thought, when I clicked on your initial link, that I was the one that did something to you.

If it were posted in The Attic, this would be of been , perhaps less painful.

Fun and games, but not one I appreciated.

We come here and hopefully we trust each other because of the distrust that we have of casinos, 'we' meaning American players.

But , I can take a joke but initially, I have to tell you, it panicked me when I clicked on that link.
