An Email I recently received from The Players Panel

Hi Brian,

This is important and the Players’ Panel urgently needs your help.

The Gambling Commission has gained the powers to create a database of all gamblers in the UK.

Potentially, everyone who ever puts a bet on or plays online games could be added to the database and have their “behavioural data” shared with the government regulator and all betting and gaming companies even if you’re not their customer.

If this database comes into existence then the information shared about you could include:

  • How much you spend
  • How often you put a bet on or play online games
  • The type of thing you bet on or games you play

If you oppose this database plan then click the button below to see a template email you can send straight to your local MP:

We have drafted the template email to help give you an idea of what to say.

You can edit the template if you want to, or you can just click send and the email will go straight to your local MP to make sure they know what you think.

The Single Customer View is being brought in so that one compulsory deposit/loss limit, or even a time limit, can be enforced - on the back of enhanced affordability and spending checks.

No more opening multiple accounts and spreading out play to stay under the radar, and no more moving on if you get limited for "responsible gambling" reasons.

Casinos were always easy to circumvent in regards to Responsible Gambling. Limit your deposits at one site but then open up a new account elsewhere. Exclude online but then walk into any bookies and so forth.

In theory, a one-stop shop and centralized hub through which all this info can be gleaned sounds helpful, if a little ominous. Because as we know, it's headed towards the UKGC determining which games you'll eventually be able to play. It won't be to improve the end user's online casino merriment.

And people wonder why unlicensed crypto casinos are thriving.

All the UKGC will do is drive the player 'undeground' They really are a bunch of overzealous jobsworths.

The penny will drop for them eventually when there's no market left for them to preside over.

More crap to put off the casuals, meanwhile the degenerates will still always find ways to ruin themselves.

one of the reasons I have found a casino in the banana republic!! I forgot how good things used to be! Turbo spin slam stop bonus buys if I ever wanted too! Every deposit I was fine with “ I lost” on a U.K. facing casino, so would never deposit anymore than what I would be comfortable loosing over here or over their and I’ve been pleasantly surprised unfortunately

I went up a VIP level last weekend in a Curacao property (not much of an achievement, and certainly not a big spender or high roller...) and was immediately awarded $150 with no WR. Sure beats 10x 10p spins on Starburst.

But...doesn't that mean you're mostly playing pirated games?

Is that software just 'copied' or reverse- engineered to be tampered with?

Hell, most copies may end up running at factory setting RTP and be relatively playable. So if anything, it's just dodgy software overlaying legalized dodgy software! What's not to love?

Absolutely not. Top tier sites only use licensed software on max RTP.

There is a world of difference between the "traditional" rogue Curacao sites accepting visa/mc and often using pirated software too, and the new breed of mega crypto-only casinos which are fantastic imo.
