Anyone had these imposed? Mines set at 2k per month at casumo, not complaining as that’s acceptable.
just wondering if this is now the norm?

Seems like a surefire strategy (in the name of social responsibility) to help line the pockets of competiting brands who are under the misguided notion that silly concepts like supply and demand, free markets, consumer perogative and profit and loss statements should probably guide the policies they enact to service the consumers who , in some purely intangible way, may just play a minor role in the very existance of the industry they draw their profits from..

I think it's a decent first step towards RG, even if it takes away some form of autonomy from players.

Nothing big or clever about losing a wad of cash in one horror session and proclaiming it the player's right to do so when they quite clearly were gambling beyond their means.

By the same token I'd imagine these monthly limits are just generous 'testers' and that they'd likely shrink them and precision-tool them to much smaller amounts. I just hope casinos don't go too Draconian in the hopes of playing it safe, because that's ultimately what I see happening!

Still, what's stopping someone splurging 2K across five sites in succession. How about a Gamstop-esque monthly budgeter that one can't exceed. We'll call it BudgeMo©

That sort of sentiment, is really at the core of any issue I would have with such a practise.
If it isn't the players right to make decisions on where and how they spend their money.. how much is too much and how far is too far, then who?

I'm hard pressed to think of many situations where I'd easily trust a person/company that I'm paying to facilitate my entertainment to "take away some of my autonomy" unless it was in the course of facilitating even greater entertainment...

While I appreciate we've always referred to casinos as "The House" They aren't a home, nor the head of any household I've ever lived in. Call me old fashioned but "my income" (that part of a dollar earned allocated to me after taxes, but before expenses) is just that.. mine. Along with my successes, my failures, my highs and lows, laughter and tears... (cue uplifting soundtrack)

While I may be inclined to share them sometimes.. I am firmly adament that it is indeed my right to do so, despite opinions which may be held by those who aren't members of the household ;-)

Loss limits are a better tool in my honest opinion. You could have a £500 a month loss limit in place yet hit a 2k win which you withdraw and later want to play with again. In that instance you're merely recycling funds and haven't lost anything.

In instances where these limits are enforced by casinos without the customer choosing to do so of their own free will, they should be given the option of deposit or loss limit.

Loss Limits have their place and can be useful no doubt but nowhere near as directly effective as Deposits Limits, although subjective of course.

A stone-cold Deposit Limit prevents the player from funds leaving their 'personal finances', and rightly stops overspending on a whim or sudden gambling pang.

Whereas in an alternative scenario one could deposit £2K and only be 'restricted' to losing £500, which seems a roundabout way of achieving the same thing. Though surely better to have not deposited that much to begin with, however acquired.

And whilst no advocate of how casinos/ governments/ regulators tell me how to spend my 'winnings', surely preventing immediate redepositing of said funds would be more proactive overall.

An oft-overlooked facet of RG I find and something that needs scrutinizing.....what good is it when winning, being insta-paid and then running to redeposit quickly elsewhere? That's something that ought to be curbed

This is a good thing in essence. Shown to be actually showing an interest in RG.

This may be the one thing that, if done industry wide, could prevent that max stake being imposed.

A lot of people myself included have accounts with nearly all reputable casinos unfortunately many ways around deposit limits etc a responsive/secure database with a universal deposit limit would and could work and be beneficial for some but not all

I signed up to Rizk yesterday, made quite a few withdrawals and deposits during the day which ended up triggering the ID checks, those went through fine but as a result they've now notified me I'm allowed a £800 loss limit per month and that is that unless I can prove I've won the lottery :)

Sensible enough I guess, helpfully puts my gamblers mind at now wanting to make no further deposits anyway and just run away with my £1000 profit from them...

...but as mentioned above in the end with it being a per casino policy it doesn't prevent me if I really wanted to just spreading across 10 casino sites, I think the verification process reading up on it for the UK comes in after deposits / withdrawals of £2000 so I could easily have done in £20k across 10 sites!

I'm more a land based gambler which suffers even worse, bookies or arcades don't bat an eyelid as they have no way of knowing what I'm spending

(OK I think the bookies may flash up a message to the cashier after inserting say £500 in a FOBT at the same time it flashes up a message to the customer but they don't care, I think I've been asked maybe twice if I'm OK in about the 100 times I must have done that in the past, they are far more keen on offering a tea or coffee when taking a slip to the counter to cash out funnily enough!!!)

A lot of land based casinos in the UK also ditched their mandatory membership so walk straight in, deposit thousands, lose as much as you want! But if you're lucky enough to hit that magic £2000 or above win we're going to make it as difficult as possible for you to give you the cash... (I had this in a casino last year, hand pay - are you a member, yes, computer says no...eventually after a debate with the manager I got paid but was told in no uncertain terms any future cash out and I would need to provide them with my life story in documentation to do so, haven't been back there since)

Talk about an industry being completely destroyed by the regulator. Unregulated reputable casinos will be the way forward for people that like to gamble and be treated like adults,
