I signed up to
Rizk yesterday, made quite a few withdrawals and deposits during the day which ended up triggering the ID checks, those went through fine but as a result they've now notified me I'm allowed a £800 loss limit per month and that is that unless I can prove I've won the lottery
Sensible enough I guess, helpfully puts my gamblers mind at now wanting to make no further deposits anyway and just run away with my £1000 profit from them...
...but as mentioned above in the end with it being a per casino policy it doesn't prevent me if I really wanted to just spreading across 10 casino sites, I think the verification process reading up on it for the UK comes in after deposits / withdrawals of £2000 so I could easily have done in £20k across 10 sites!
I'm more a land based gambler which suffers even worse, bookies or arcades don't bat an eyelid as they have no way of knowing what I'm spending
(OK I think the bookies may flash up a message to the cashier after inserting say £500 in a FOBT at the same time it flashes up a message to the customer but they don't care, I think I've been asked maybe twice if I'm OK in about the 100 times I must have done that in the past, they are far more keen on offering a tea or coffee when taking a slip to the counter to cash out funnily enough!!!)
A lot of land based casinos in the UK also ditched their mandatory membership so walk straight in, deposit thousands, lose as much as you want! But if you're lucky enough to hit that magic £2000 or above win we're going to make it as difficult as possible for you to give you the cash... (I had this in a casino last year, hand pay - are you a member, yes, computer says no...eventually after a debate with the manager I got paid but was told in no uncertain terms any future cash out and I would need to provide them with my life story in documentation to do so, haven't been back there since)
