I was unaware this was going to happen in 2012 but Microsoft automatically updated my system from IE 8 to IE 9. I really liked IE 8, not sure about 9 yet.

I don't like this updating my operating system without my approval.

I have my home computer set to download updates and ask. Then I look thru the list and pick which updates to install. I have the IE9 update hidden so it doesn't show up again till I want it. (I hope.) IIE9 will not run on either this Vista or my Vista system at work. I can't figure out what conflict is behind it, and I don't have the time or need to spend more hours troubleshooting to find it just so IE9 will work on my computers. I suspect it's the Nvidia graphic cards in both systems... but drivers are up to date... so I really have no clue. I've tried IE9 3 different times with the same result. I had to roll back to IE8. I think I would like IE9, but when it crashes it locks up everything and a hard boot is the only thing that will clear it.
