Hi guys

I've been running Thunderstruck & Tomb Raider today and it seems soooo slooow - is it me or is everyone getting this (I've been playing 32Red). I turned on Quickspin but its taking me about 3 times longer to play a spin. Its saving me a fortune mind so i shouldn't complain :)

Plus Thunderstruck reels appear to "judder" when they land now - can that be turned off cos it's giving me a headache?

Tar muchly

I was just about to post the exact same thing!

Seems they've broke Thunderstruck and Spring Break.. It's definitely intentional, as they've put in a little fake 'judder' - as though the mechanical reels are stopping... I preferred my slots less bouncy :(

With you on the saving money bit though!

Mind you - You can play Tomb Raider for aaaaaaaaaaaages without losing much!!!

EDIT: I just noticed you're at 32RED too, maybe it's just us!

I noticed the slow play too last night while earning a very quick & easy 50 quid with "the 2nd best SUB on the net" ;)

To cure the problem you mention above - close your eyes!! :D

I had a major software upgrade in my MG casinos that will remain nameless and I noticed a change in the speed of BJ play. I have not tried the slots yet. I hope that we are not going to see something similar to what happened to RTG BJ after the software upgrade where they introduced the multihand version. I must note that nothing has been proven with RTG, it is just a lot of players opinions including mine that it changed, and not in a good way. I am really loving MG, and I would be quite upset. Only time will tell.

Slowness is the norm when Microgaming releases new games. Although the game servers and download servers may be separate, I surmise that they are sharing the same bandwidth.

Couple that with the mad rush to get Tomb Raider installed... and you can expect this slowness to last for at least a few more days. I was accessing one of the servers at near normal speeds about 14-15 hours ago - but it is moving at snail's pace right now. The only possible exception to this rule *might* be Lucky Nugget and perhaps the entire Belle Rock group, I bet they are on entirely different servers and bandwidth.

Well i hope you are right SM, but i have my doubts as its not delivery of the random numbers but the time it takes between Reel 1 stopping and Reel 5. Also, i tried 3 casinos where the software has updated and 1 where it hasnt and the latter runs just as it used to while the other three all have slower game play. Ladbrokes is still fast, and no judder.

I'm gonna wait and see - cant play it in this state - boring as hell :(

No More Thunderstruck

Hopefully someone with a contact at MG will see this. I will never play Thunderstruck again until that ridiculous juddering reel effect can be switched off! :(

but the time it takes between Reel 1 stopping and Reel 5
If you have ever played from a dialup before, you may have seen this occur in the past - but when there is massive traffic going on, it doesn't matter if you own all the bandwidth in the world, you're still sucking data through a very narrow straw.

Yes, it's unsettling, I know exactly what you are talking about because I am experiencing the same thing. But data is definitely coming out very slowly from the game servers and for all we know the GUI - ie software on your computer - requires one piece of data per reel, rather than a single value or checksum which the GUI then converts to a reel combination. There is absolutely zero reason why any software manufacturer would want to put that kind of jitter in the way it looks now - simply because it looks lousy and everyone knows it.

I'll bow to your better knowledge SM albeit it wouldn't surprise me if they announced they'd "enhanced" the gameplay. Let's hope you are right..I'll just have to play at Ladbrokes til its sorted (or 'til they upgrade too!).

For now though, Thunderstruck seems to have dropped the "r" :)

I'm sat here thinking 'Thundestruck??... Why Thundestruck?!??' - before the penny dropped :D

It's definitely an 'enhancement' as opposed to any speed of connection issues. It's a marked difference when the connection is slow, this is a totally new interface for those similar games... and it looks rubbish imho.

I might sign up to Ladbrokes in the morning if you're saying they're still 'old school'!

I dont know whether this helps. Run on auto mode, then minimise the screen. When you restore it back to normal size, the game will be running at normal speed although there is still the juddering effect for the first 3 reels.

Thunderstruck R.I.P

Well, its one week on and every casino that emails me to say they upgraded with Tomb Raider i find that Thunderstruck has been cursed with "the judder" and the speed of a snail.

I'm fast running out of places to play the "old" Thunderstruck now - Ladbrokes...if you're reading this...please stay as you are :)

SM - Sorry matey but i think you're belief that they wouldn't screw up a good game was a bit hasty IMHO ;)

NO WAIT! I SUSSED IT!

The new Tomb Raider game has this slow boring spin time and what we shall affectionately call "the judder".

It's obvious - all the 5-line bonus slots of the same ilk use the same program code to deliver the reels and therefore this change has affected the other 5-line slots too

Duh-nuh. Shite. This is bad news :(

slower than molasses

I was looking forward to trying the new MG slots.....I guess I realized I don't have the patience for it. I found that all the slots that have the bonus reels are sooo slow the only positive I can find is that it makes for a longer play.
Unfortunately, I couldn't put up with it and moved on.

The dizzying judder on Thunderstruck gives one motion sickness. I tried everything...turning off all sounds, putting it on auto(which may have made a difference by one nannosecond). Anyone else have any suggestions?

I don't think its a "problem" Petunia (see my post above). Its what they will probably term a "feature" ;)

Hey Simmo!
Not seen it myself yet - but have changed my Avatar in loving memory of your dear departed! ;)

Thats wicked KK. But it brings back too many painful memories *sniff*

Running slower

I noticed the same "jutter" with the new downloads...on thunderstuck, tally ho, and spring break. At all the microgaming sites, I don't like it at all. I did notice that bell rock slot at lucky nugget and adventure palace at lake palace don't have that problem. Maybe cause those are site special games??????

I really hope someone see's this and fixes it. would be nice to see thunder play right.

Hi Simmo! (and other guys & galls)

I just tried it myself at a new MG I just signed up with. ;) :D ;)

You're right, it is crap! Strange that the judder is real bad on reals 1-3, but hardly noticeable on 4 & 5. Worst thing, like you said, is it really slows the game down a lot!

Don't wait for someone to 'fix the problem' - it's deliberate. I'm afraid the software programmers are a sick twisted lot who have very little idea what it means to regulars when they start 'tweaking' things!

The only way this will ever be put back is if EVERYONE bombards all the casinos with loads of e-mails complaining about it!
Well, what are you waiting for???

As a BTW, my session on T.Stuck was another disappointing one:
Gradually increased bets until finally getting the Rams exactly on spin 250!
Then it was another 118 to get them again, but only 20 more for hit three.
But, as usual, I was less than pleased with the returns, all off 0.45 triggering bet:
9.30, 10.65 & 7.05 = fricking PATHETIC!

I'm off now to give Tomb Raider my first bash - then I'll probably switch back to Crypto, where the feature is actually worth something!

Just got back from the Tomb!

Jeeeeeze - I can't stand too much of that either!
Hasn't got the 'judder', but has got the ludicrous and tediously slow spin rate of 'Secret Admirer'.

Another thing to put in our complaining e-mails!

Thought it was crapper than 'Admirer' at first, because I wasn't getting any wins.
But in actual fact I ended up getting 3 x tomb feature & 1 x free spins all in 68 spins!
I was doing full 15 lines (unusual for me), but when I got my first 'Tomb' feature, would you believe it - it was right across the middle, on line ONE! :p

I think this would be a great slot - if only they would speed up the spin rate.
I grew a beard waiting for reels 3, 4 & 5 to stop spinning! :D

Come on MG - sort it out!!!
