hi guys its that time again to get rid of some of my old MG files & casinos, can anyone here help with the process of a complete removal of the files so there no traces left on pc? many thx )

ccleaner-tools-uninstall selected casinos-registry-scan for issues-fix them all. sometime might remain empty folders.

I use tuneup utilities, great program for cleaning your pc,optimize settings, get rid of cluttered empty files and reg.keys etc etc.
It is not free but comes with a free month trial, but like said I use this since 2007 and never changed to another program for these tasks. ;)

I see the 2014 version comes with a 15 day free trial.

in both Windows 7 and Windows 8 either 32 bits or 64 bits operating system. Those MGS cache file is normally hidden in C:\ProgramData\MGS those are 11GB worth of data on my computer. Thats the only folder MGS use mostly for storing games data and caches.

To reveal ProgramData folder: Click View tab, click Options icon drop down and select Change folder and search options.

Dialog will come up, select view tab, then click on Show hidden files, folders and drives. Press Apply and then Okay. Go back to file explorer and find that. You will see there it is. Make sure you completely uninstall Microgaming software before doing so to delete MGS folder only in ProgramData to recycle bin, then delete that off in recycle bin. It will save a big hefty space in your hard drive.

Nathan.

PS If you want to hide those files, folders and drives, repeat the step in Change folder and search options and choose Don't show hidden files, folders or drives, press apply and okay. Thats all you have to do.

Options 2:

Uninstall Microgamings.

In ProgramData folder, move that MGS folder to your external hard drive to save it copy for later on if you are planning to reinstall that MGS software at later time. So that will save you from having to redownload large file size. But sometimes microgaming may have new update files that will overwrite over exist for you though.

Removing the folder from program data doesn't completely remove all. You have to go into regedit (type into search in windows 7 +).... open hkey_current_user... software... there you will find folders either called MGS or Microgaming (or whatever casino software you've downloaded)... right click these folders and delete.

The MGS folder in ProgramData has never been removed after uninstall Microgaming. The MGS folder in the ProgramData is the largest in Windows 7 and 8. Microgaming need to fix that problem in the uninstall program to tell the uninstaller to remove that. At the moment it does not.

Although I would advise people not to play with any registry entries except professional or expert who knows a lot about registry can do that. Registry is very tiny file size to compare and is rendering useless when removing registry. I found that people play with registry can get a serious consequence on Windows operating system corruption. If you want to use registry cleaner to remove automatically for you, make sure you only choose in the tick list of microgaming that is related to that with name of microgaming to remove that registry and leave the other alone.

I use Iobit uninstaller 2013 and they have powerful scan to search for trace of it that is left over that uninstaller did not do so. I choose in the list of trace which to remove that is relating to software I am uninstalling. (It does search for rest of trace of files and registry). Although just to be careful that if after you uninstall software and it tells you to restart, it is best to restart first and you won't be able to use powerful scan that in some of case. Cos when restart it helps uninstaller to remove the rest of it.

I think its time for us to lodge it to microgaming to fix the uninstaller to ask the uninstall program to remove MGS off ProgramData. That would save us hassle and fiddle around.

Uninstalling takes about 5% if the MG file size out. Leaves 10-18 GB on your disc still.
Simply search 'my computer' for 'MGS' and delete them all. You'll notice they have the same date (when you installed the damn casino) and you will then have rid of all the clutter.

That time again huh? I've been there ;) I don't have any MG casinos left on my computer and no flash MG accounts to boot. They lost me on the never cashing out part :)

Uninstall the casinos from your control panel. Then delete the Microgaming files under your C Drive...

That's what I did and my computer seems to be clean from all things MG.

Deleting MGS and Microgaming is related to uninstalling you are doing is correct.

If you delete different or other than MGS/Microgaming in Registry is not okay as it will damages the Windows Operating System important files and registry. That is called NOT related to the software you are uninstalling. So the word I use as relating to is mean that software is associated with some of files or registry that is part of MGS/Microgaming. Using words of relating to or not relating to is very important to use for describing though. ;)

naththo... deleting files from regedit will not **** up your pc if you know what you are doing... so what a load a crap!!!!

come on guys it isnt a battle , its the help thats required , ive got rid of loads of stuff not just casinos , left it in defrag last night which hit 4 hours pc is running fast today so something has worked )
