MG Jackpot question

While i was just testing out some slots at bet365 & unibet with NOK (norwegian kroner 1$ = 5.5kroner) i noticed that MG jackpots are not increased with this currency while i can bet 0.30 in kroner wich is 0.05$ at batman

so lets say if i won the mega moolah at 2.3 million, i would win this in kroner wich is (415.000$), but in same time this jackpot has been contributed by so many people with currency in £$€

so my question is where will the rest of the money go? its says its turn to 1 million when this trigger so will MG just "take" the rest of the money?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I read somewhere a long time ago that the jackpot is based on £ (the "biggest" unit of currency), other currencies are paid out as displayed and what ever is left is put back in the pot.

i.e. If you hit the JP you would get 2.3 million NOK (£261K), and the jackpot would be re-set to 2.04 million (£)

That sounds fair since someone who plays at £3/spin contributes with his % in £. However, that brings another question. Does someone who plays at $3/spin have the same chance to trigger the jackpot round as someone who plays at £3/spin?

From what I understand, the higher the bet, the greater the chance to trigger the jackpot wheel spin. But technically, £3 is not a higher bet (in %) than $3 because the jackpot is in £ vs. the other JP in $.

So players that are playing with lesser currencies have a greater chance to win the JP for the same amount of money (after conversion). It costs less to access the JP round with a lesser currency.

If you play in £, you win more, but you also pay more (since you pay your % in £) AND it's a lot more expensive to trigger the bonus round. I see a big disadvantage here.

This came up before. The Mega Moolah jackpot was won, but nobody really noticed. It turned out the player was using the Rand, and 5 million Rand was £ bugger all, and so the pool remained largely intact because only around 5 million Rand was removed and paid, which was around £700,000. With the pool over £5 million, it was soon back over £5 million, so to those who didn't check regularly, it appeared it had not been won.

If you play in a lower value currency, you get paid in a lower value currency, so the two effects balance out and no currency is at a disadvantage. No player in a lesser currency can win the entire pool, as this is in Pounds, so although it is less expensive for them to trigger the bonus and win the jackpot, players who pay more in Pounds are the only ones to get the entire pool when they trigger it. If won in Pounds, it will reset to £ 1 million. I presume the lesser pools work in the same way.

I think that the Microgaming jackpot system is quite messy and old fashioned. I can not understand why they don't change it. If you look at for example Mega Fortune from NetEnt, then you will see that the current jackpot for those playing with GBP is about £3.4 mill while for those playing with EUR the jackpot is €4.3 mil. This is in my opinion a much better system as players will win the same amount regardless of currency, since the jackpot is converted into your chosen currency (for example NOK, SEK, GBP, EUR, USD etc).

Bet sizes are of course also adjusted depending of currency. If you are playing with Norwegian Kroner then the minimum bet for all lines are Kr 2.50 . If you are playing with Euro then the minimum bet for all lines are €0.25.

Sounds like the professional way to do it.
