Hi all

Been playing a lot this month at 'Vera and John' and was baffled the other evening when after trying to deposit unsuccessfully I was told I had reached my deposit limit.

I knew for sure that I hadn't set a deposit limit, and thought at first that I had maybe been banned as I've been on a really good run in May, but on contacting customer services was told that players are only allowed to deposit £25,000 a month and I could deposit again from June 1st onwards.

Not a big deal really, but just wondered if this is the norm nowadays at online casinos?

I've only ever seen the *option* to set one when opening an account at a new casino, but perhaps this does happen and I've never deposited anywhere near enough to trigger that kind of limit. But having said that, £25k is pretty low if such a thing as a "mandatory" monthly deposit limit existed, since there are plenty of whales swimming around the online gaming waters who could happily exceed that.

Withdrawal limits? Yeah. £25k deposit limits per month? I don't know/think so.

To my knowledge, all UK customers need to set a deposit limit upon their first deposit. It's the same at ours :)

@LV BET - I only recall being asked if I would like to set a limit, rather than having to choose one. The most recent accounts I opened were at Virgin Games, StarSpins and Jackpot Capital (same group I'm sure you know), and I'm absolutely certain I did not have to set a limit.

I can't speak for other operators but I've always been told it's a mandatory one. However if you'd like, I'll ask our RG and compliance team to have a look into it and get back to you :) I don't want to cause any harm to other operators that might still be doing something within the LCCP.

And likewise, I'm not saying you're definitely mistaken. I just don't recall setting a limit at the aforementioned casinos in the beginning :D

Ok So I've found it in the (Old / Expired Link) . I hope the link is allowed since it is a UKGC Site..

"RTS requirement 12A The gambling system must provide easily accessible facilities that make it possible for customers to impose their own financial limits. Customers must be given the opportunity to set a limit as part of the registration process (or at the point at which the customer makes the first deposit or payment)."

Ok so maybe LV BET does take a bit too far (I hope my RG team doesn't hear that) however, we do allow the player to set up any deposit limit amount of his choice, (of course if it's an extremely high limit, our RG team will keep an eye out).

However regarding setting them manually for a customer, I've never encountered such a case until now. So perhaps it's a "risk balancer" for them?

MGA doesn't have anything similar :) Not yet at least.

That's MGA system audit requirement which operators haven't really for some reason implemented too much. For me this gives understanding that these really should be offered and the player needs to decide Yes or No in registration process. Easily implemented ie. same tick the box "I want to set some financfial/time limits on my account" where you acceåt T&C:s and consents.

So would say that pretty much same requirement than UKGC, MGA just haven't woke up yet to give nice fines for companies and these mainly (just assumption, don't quote me :) ) checked when the new operator is applying for license or right after. With their current partner who completes these audits, there are most to be expected for all licensees, not only new ones. These manuals for compliance and system audtus (own manual for both) are some points which would be nice evening reading for quite many RG/Compliance/Operations Management departments of many operators.

"6.11.2 Check that the Licensee is offering the players an option to set deposit/wagering/loss and gaming session limits either: a. Upon registration; or b. Immediately after registration upon login. Check that the limits remain readily available and easily accessible for the player to avail of at any time after registration."

You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.

Immediately after registration upon login.

Unfortunately MGA interprets this as being able to go the RG Page after registration.. We've discussed it with them and so far they state this is their interpretation. However be rest assured that our compliance team do keep track of any updates and RG team do observe MGA players too :) I'm sure some of you might have gotten our emails regarding setting limits

Company MGA partnership to complete their audits is not agreeing for 100% for that having link somewhere to limits page is in down of the site is "offering to set limits right after registration or right after upon login". Don't know is it good or bad but they are bit more detailed in most of these requirements than MGA licensees have used to audits been.
