So I know that there is a pretty big market out there for *snip* play money chips.

Anyways I was starting to look around at prices and saw that you could buy *snip* play money chips for around $9 to $17 or more and sell them from around $3 - $12 per million

Anyways the best deal Ive found so far to buy chips was at *snip* who sell for $8.99 per million and also throw in bunches of free chips.

So I was wondering if there is a market in buying from one site and selling to another. For example buy 1 million chips for $8.99 per million and sell them to a site that mays more than $9 per million

Just wondering if anyone has tried that and if it's worth the time trying to finds sites that buy etc......

well, I refuse to play with play chips just for the fact that nobody really even tries to play a real game. 99% of the time everyone's just trying to accumulate chips.....and why? Hmmm, so they can sell them?

thanks guys. yeah a good way would be is to accumulate chips by playing (if u win a lot that is. buying and selling would be faster but maybe also riskier................

Since i had a few tables open at PS i thought i would ask them about this, here is what they said about it.

Thank you for contacting PokerStars.

There is no rule prohibiting the sale or purchase of play money. However we
do not monitor nor regulate such activity and thus recommend to players to
avoid all chip trading services or websites entirely.

Please be aware, the advertising of play chip trading services at our tables
IS strictly prohibited. If you see any such activity, please email
chat@pokerstars.com with the User ID of any player offering to buy or sell
play chips.

Many play chip trading services and websites are actually scams where
players are duped into transferring amounts of play chips or real money to
another PokerStars player. However they receive nothing in return. As stated
above, it is advisable to avoid play chip trading completely.

PokerStars does offer extremely cheap real money games, including
tournaments with 2c or 10c buy-ins. Thus the minimum deposit of $10 can buy
a player 500 tournaments with 2c buy-in or 100 tournaments with a 10c
buy-in. PokerStars does not charge any fees or rake for these micro buy-in
games, nor are there any deposit transaction fees. That way players can play
for real money at a very low cost with the added benefit of not having to
worry about being scammed for play chips or real money.

Where online play chip trading sites are mostly scams, buying chips online
with PokerStars is completely safe. For more information, please visit the
real money page on the PokerStars website:

You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.

To find the 2c and 10c buy-in tournaments, from the PokerStars Lobby screen,
select:

'Tourney -> Regular -> Micro' (make sure "Show registering/upcoming only" is
turned on)

Please let us know if you have any other questions and thank you for playing
at PokerStars.

Regards,

Am I wrong or is playing for fake money kind of pointless? I can't imagine even playing the slot games at various sites in fun mode (or as I call it NO FUN mode) Might as well play monopoly if you want to win fake money!

Is it just me or does this not sound like a very profitable business model?

I have a little insight into buying and selling chips. First off i would never go outside of the casino area looking for a trade. Always make your the seller or buyer has established a poker account. Look their playing name up, this will tell you their play stats. Always make sure the other party has deposited funds before into their account. And has funds in there for this trade. Same goes for buying play chips make sure the player has been around awhile. Only once did i have a issue with this. The casino called it a hiccup in the system. After 72 hours the transfer was through. Again just make sure the other party is a regular at the casino. If anyone wishes more info pm me. As I wish not to promote any site.
