M G TOURNAMENTS

Looks like the online shafting is set to continue. I have just mentioned earlier how it was possible to estimate the house edge by using coins left to estimate how many continues have been made. This new format makes it impossible, and the fact there is no limit to the number of rebuys can make the house edge absolutely HUGE without players having any idea.
Already, some events look like having a house edge of around 50%, but if players can just keep on rebuying for ever, with 100% of this going back to the casinos as pure hold, then they could make far more this way that giving us an honest 95% average payout on the slots in general.
Players need to look very carefully at the tournaments, as they could find that players can buy their way to first place even more easily, and without it looking at all obvious. If you play 1000+ times, you are bound to get a couple of decent rounds, but those just playing a couple of times always stand to be beaten by players buying in again and again till they win.

If MG want to give us confidence, they MUST make available the average monthly payout to stake ratio for these tournaments. It is absolutely CLEAR that the sit & go events have a payout of 90%, and since this is such a blatant rip-off ("normal" slots are 95%), how are we supposed to trust that the ones where the figures are shrouded in secrecy are only that bad, and not even worse.

Jas I got the same email a day or two ago. Note the mistake in the top of the email that says loaded and the bottom says avalon. So much for proofing promotions before they're sent.

they just want us to rebuy
an fill their till

Cindy

pssstt ummm I didn't notice
till you pointed it out
shows ya how much I read of it

I don't know you facing same problems as I do with MG tournaments. I am playing them at Ladbrokes.
Problem is that almost every free tourney is canceled or postponed for some undetermined time, so you can't know when it actually start.

Not to mention that every now and then there is some update which require restart of casino.

MG needs to sh*t or get off the pot on the tournaments, every time a freeroll tournament comes up it cancels at starting time. I bet the buy in tournaments don't cancel a starting time.

Im really p*ssed off with MG and their tournaments too - one of the reasons being the cancellations etc.

The other point is that the tourneys prizes really are useless, except for maybe the weekender and some invite-onlys. The new Avalon $2 buyin top prize is $60 (can have 5 continues @$2) - which is 30xbet provided you dont continue - you're better off playing video poker or something. Even the weekender (which you need to spend $100 to win in reality) pays only 50x bet - most bonus rounds pay more than that!!

Until they add rebuys etc back into the pot, they can stick it up their collective a*ses

Let me add my own bitch and gripe about the tourneys.
I hate the rebuy option, if it's called a free tourney it should be just that. FREE! I was in 5th place in Jackpot Factory Win-o-rama, now guess what......I'm in 90th, because I didn't do the rebuys.
I don't understand this either, why would someone enter a 2.00 tourney only to win 6.00? That isn't a great return on your money is it?
Also, all the cancellations lately suck. You would think by now MG could get it together.
Yeah I know.....I think someone pissed in my cornflakes this morning.

The cancellations probably reflect that players are getting wise to the fact that these are extremely poor value due to the very large take for the casino, which far exceeds the normal 5% for slots. They cancel the tournaments when the entries are low enough to make them GOOD value, with the risk of the payout even exceeding 100%. It seems they are happy to take 100% of the rebuys when many compete, but are not prepared to give some of it back to even out the edge when fewer take part in a given tournament. Exposed for the rip-off they are!!! - Bloody took long enough:mad:

I like tournies that last days, not minutes.

I don't mind the rebuys there, what you need is one good run giving you a nice bankroll, and then you can work your way up by adjusting bet size etc.

Unless you get real lucky it's not profitable (heck, it's called gambling), but it's fun to be playing with a large bankroll and trying to ride the waves.

It lets you get to know a particular slot real well...and I like fiddling with bet sizes. I like being able to manage amounts much larger than I ever would with real money, just clicking away at max to beat a time limit it's not near as much fun. I like being able to spend hours for little actual money with a large amount that lets me make decisions and adjust bet size, number of coins and lines and all that jazz.

Just my two bits.... :p

Oy Vey, again with the 3Dice shtuff:D The tourneys there are awesome and they just keep rolling them out. There are free ones every day, and after you make any deposit you can play the VIP tourneys (i've won a couple) The buy-ins have rebuys, but watch the time line as you can buy in and then not be able to rebuy in the last 24 hrs:eek2: Most entries are 1tourney credit, a buck.

A chat client runs and often a host will ask,,, what do you guys wanna do? and everyone just chimes in until all the parameters are set... it might be a 1 hr all games race for highest stake, or peak balance, or finishing balance... there are fun chat games like hunting screenshots over 1500, etc. etc.

In a way it can be more fun than a B&M!!! You've got a party host there immersed in the game, encouraging you on, the players are fun for the most part (some will go mute when you pass them up, but most are encouraging)

When the host is on you're usually paid immediately -- real money that you can cash out, play in the regular casino games, or buy credits with. When these guys stop amazing me with their excellence I'll be a jaded spoiled casino brat:D

I'd say 1100+ players and 800+ players are more than enough to keep a tournament open. There must be a bug in the tournament programming that cancels them when they open. But as I eluded to in an earlier post, the pay tournaments never EVER cancel, even if there's only 100 people in them, always the free rolls.

To buck the trend, I'm loving the tournaments just as a break from day-to-day stuff. The cancellations are probably a bug that will get ironed out, but if you leave the casino open they usually start - just later than advertised. "Postponed" would be a better description.

I'd like to see some longer ones too but the casinos can set up their own, just not many doing that at the moment. Some 10-15 minute ones would be good - and the option to "pause" would be good too - in case the doorbell goes.

Me and Spear play them against each other for beer. He's 2 up at the moment but I'll be in the lead before Macau :D It adds a little extra competition to it all. You guys ought to pair up on MSN and do the same...it's fun.

I'm actually in the process of investigating getting winner feeds so I can look at starting a "league". I'll update you if I get some joy there.

Royal Vegas "free" Tournaments

I want to add my 2 cents into this discussion.

I got real excited about the RV free tournies when they first started. But to date, I have only won $5.00 on all the "free" games I've played. I only won ONCE; and, I had to rebuy in at $2.00 to get it. Now I just find them very boring.

Whenever I play I generally end up WAY down at the bottom of the list when it's over. It's no fun finishing 656, or 389, all the time. The reels often get stuck spinning and it can be a minute or more between spins whenever this happens to me. If I only get to spin 5 or 6 times in the 5 minutes allowed to play, I feel cheated! What a waste of time!

When I asked the casino why there's so much lag time between spins occasionally, they replied saying that I had become disconnected from the casino during my play time and that is what causes the long spins.

This answer surprised me because I didn't notice getting disconnected from the casino. The counter kept on counting down and I was able to go back to the lobby after the play was over without having to sign back in. I didn't feel their answer was legitimate. A previous post on this thread gives a better explanation of this phenomena and I now feel validated. Thank you!

Might be worth trying them at another casino. Have you checked out the

? That may help. I'm getting 14 spins a min on Tombraider and 12/13 on Thunderstruck.

loving the tournies

It takes approx 4-6 seconds on T/struck and a little faster on T/Raider.. Much faster on Loaded and Avalon. The new games make the tournies much much better and some of the scores are unbelievable. First thought they were rigged with false players names winning until i actually won $100 on the 500 LOADED , i got the five blondes on the free spins which paid over 200,000 and would you guess it the very next day got the same but came second. Microgaming need to be congratulated with the way the tournies are run during the games, my wife plays on her own computer with her own account and we can actually see where each other is during the games, the scores for all players change instantly which makes for a more interesting contest even with players you dont know but are familiar with their names when they continue to compete against you. In my opinion "WELL DONE MICROGAMING'' Maybe some casinomeister members should let us know what names they play under so we can all enjoy playing against each other.

As a player in the US I am thrilled to actually play anything online again. I even quailfied for the December 15th BIG ONE! I ended up 8th and had to sweat it out until it closed 24 hours later. I checked with 16 minutes to go and I was 50th. I did some quick positive thinking and sure enough...I was
50th at the end. So I am looking forward to Dec. 15th. I do have a question. Why can't you "sign up" for the schedualed free tournaments? I can only get into the open games? Every time I log in (which is about every 2 hours) I go through the list and still I get a "tournament is closed code 3" message. Any help will be appreciated. I am on vacation and would live on the computer. I'm VERY competitve so it's not about the $, on the small ones I mean. It is VERY about the $ Dec 15th!

"Open" refers to open for registration. Having all the scheduled tourneys open for registration as soon as they're slated wold tie up much more server than the present system. Congrats and good luck on Dec 15!

I think they should loosen them the hell up. Add more scatters and wilds to the reels. It's not like they have to pay out money based on the payline wins, it would still be based on the overall result.

It's frigging boring to end up with 400 to 600 coins every frigging time. I haven't even been playing them in a while because I've got some paint drying, water boiling and grass growing that has been far more appealing to watch.
