Hi Everyone

I'd be very grateful if anyone can give me some advice / help on the subject of deposit bonuses please. I don't have any issues, it's just that I'm a bit confused, let me explain........

I play at Genting online and have no problems with them.
I don't play table games, only slots, mostly Montezuma, Raging Rhino and Diamond mine and a few others now and again.

Anyway, I never bother with the offers of a bonus, always preferring to play just with my own cash, but last night I made a deposit of £2000.00 and I was offered a bonus of £200.00 so for once, I read the Terms & Conditions which stated that only 'rounds' of up to £10.00 were allowed and that 40x the bonus amount (£8000.00) must be played through before you could withdraw the bonus money, but, you could withdraw your own funds at anytime but you'd forfeit the bonus, this was my understanding of it.

So I thought for once I'll take it, as if I did loose the 2k you never know I could get lucky with the £200.00 even though I'd have to try and play through 8k, but why not give it a go?

I clicked accept and my balance showed at £2200.00

So I just played Montezuma and started off at £2.70 spins and gradually went up to £7.50 / £9.00 spins, which is my norm on a 2k deposit.
I got down to around £1400.00 so I'm thinking well £1200.00 of that is mine so I'm nowhere near the £200.00 bonus funds yet so I should be ok to go above the £10.00 limit and I'll up to £12.00 stakes, which I did, and luckily had a hit or two and got the balance up to around £3300.00 (can't remember exact amount now) I then decide to withdraw about £2800.00 which I'm thinking will leave me £300.00 to play with as I accepted I'd lose the £200.00 bonus, but when I clicked on withdraw it said amount available to withdraw was £1143.00 and I'd lose the bonus as I was only at 91% wagering.

This is the part I don't understand, as I hadn't touched their £200.00 bonus, I just thought I could withdraw what I want as long as I hadn't got down to £200.00 balance (I realised I couldn't withdraw the £200.00 bonus funds of course)

Anyway, as I was at 91% wagering I didn't make the withdrawal and I carried on and cleared it with just over £2850.00 left, but my spins had gone over the £10.00 limit at times with varying amounts of £12.00 / £15.00 / £18.00 and a few at £21.00 as I just thought to Hell with it
Once I cleared wagering a pop up appeared to tell me I had done so and that I could now play without restrictions but any withdrawal(s) would be subject to checking for compliance with bonus terms & conditions.
I withdrew £2850.00 at around 23.35 last night which was then shown as pending, but I checked about an hour ago (16.45 at time of writing) and it's marked as paid which I'm obviously happy about.

Just so I can be more informed and knowledgeable in future, why was I only allowed to withdraw £1143.00 when I had more than that and I hadn't touched the bonus?, and why wasn't I clamped down on for doing spins over the £10.00 'rounds' as showed in their terms??

Thank you very much if you can educate me on this and sorry this has turned into a bit of an essay

Cheers!

It sounds as though they use the same bonus style as Casumo, where you use a percentage of your cash and one of the bonus, so if you took a 10% bonus, when you stake £10, £9 is cash, £1 is bonus, any winnings go back 90%/10%.

I think you were lucky to get paid though, most sites state the max stakes are in force when a bonus is active, so even if you hadn't touched it, you shouldn't have gone over max stake, I would be careful next time!

The figures don't make sense, but would bet its something along those lines

Thanks very much for this Colin, it's good advice.
To be honest, I think I'll just decline any bonus from now on, the stress is not worth it to me LOL!

Glad you got paid. Almost always funds are subject to bonus rules until the bonus is either completed or forfeited.

If you are a regular customer, with deposits of $1000 - $2000 at a time, I am surprised they did not inform you of breaking the rules, and telling you they paid as "goodwill" this time.

You should ask for a VIP manager if you regularly play at those levels. VIP bonuses often have different (better) terms.

They've recently upgraded me to 'Black Silver' (whatever that means?) so maybe that's why they paid me, I don't know to be honest, but I'm not going to bother with any bonuses from now on, it's simpler without them.

Often when you are VIP with real value (your deposits are thousands and not tens or hundreds) max bet rule is removed with pleasure. If i would be you, i would check with casino if they agree that it's not existing to you, then you wouldn't have to think about it.

Or other chance is to just be without these bonuses like you said, even though you could probably get some bit more generous ones than one you mentioned if you play there and deposit big amounts constantly.

edit: apologies about term "real value", should have used "remarkable financial value for casino".
