Cake in Process of Selling Selected Assets to Lock Poker

Curacao, Dutch Antilles, May 7th, 2012 – Cake Gaming N.V. has announced today it is in the process of selling selected assets to Lock Poker, enabling Lock to rebrand the existing Cake Network to Revolution Gaming. Cake will continue operations providing all of its current Network partners, sites and players the opportunity to be part of the Revolution Gaming Network.

Cake is excited about the benefits this deal will offer all of its partners and players, including increased player rewards, a richer tournament schedule and new product features. This deal also allows Cake to focus efforts on its current European, South American and Asian business with another exciting announcement to soon follow.

Lock Poker? hmm something is/was wrong with them I think.. or am I confusing them with the casino brand
finding a lot of Rogue warnings when I google them, so must be the same brand / group..

Yup, they are the same owners as lockcasino, which had a number of problems with delayed withdrawals for extensive periods. They were accredited here i believe. Wonder where they got the cash after all those problems.

There has been a lot of player opprobrium attached to Lock Poker and casino, and there was some not very nice publicity on its lawyer who is apparently an abrasive character who once worked for the Cake network.

If the Lock claims that they constitute 40 percent of the Merge Poker Network's player liquidity are true, then their departure will impact that network quite badly, I would imagine.

Lock's CEO Jennifer Lawson says Lock has "outgrown" Merge.

Mmmm saw their site a while back, looks quite cool compared to most - I would guess they are well bankrolled! Never liked Merge network though! Interesting, will keep any eye on them. Cheers for heads up Jetset.

Still a lot of poker rooms using Merge besides Lock, never played any of them myself though. And by name only familiar with a few.

Cake Poker Network is re-branding..
Dear Affiliate,
You may already be aware of that Cake Network - the poker platform Intertops Poker is operating on - will undergo a re-branding on June 1st and become Revolution Gaming Network. Network operations will continue as usual and we at Intertops are really excited about this change and all the benefits for you and your players coming with the new name and new partners. We are expecting a significant increase in ring game liquidity, increased player-rewards and a much richer tournament schedule, including more attractive guaranteed tournaments.
So I'm guessing the sale went through..

i used to play lots of lock casino and had no issue with payment- and now i have been playing lots of poker at lock
havent been able to cash out yet but will give you guys a heads up once i do

I used to love cake poker years ago. Their rewards/bonus and rakeback was superb. I have no clue who the moron is that ruined that site but he should never be able to work in the poker industry again. Cake could have grew into a huge poker website, they had so much potential but blew it big time.

So.....are Lock Casino paying on time now and paid out all players owed?

If not, then serious questions need to be asked.

Lock were fantastic when they opened. I played there a lot, but then the wheels fell off.

One of the best things is that they were using the highest RTG "maths model/RTP" of ~97%. Perhaps it had something to do with it, as they had generous boni and I had some really good sessions there. Real shame actually.

I did try Cake Poker, but found it tough getting all the cream and icing off the table and too many crumbly sponges. I went back to just chips......sweeping up a little salt is much easier...

Im really not sure. I browse the 2+2 forums and I know there was a huge issue with their casino. Something about bonuses not being paid out properly, One of the mods there was pretty upset with them and was constantly after them. Ive read a tonne of shady things but I admit I havent kept up to date with them so things may have changed by now.

It was all player monies that there were problems with -- and much more besides -- not just bonuses. It's important to be clear about this.

Cake Poker - do they honor their payouts?

I'm starting to think all poker/casino sites are bogus. I won about $5000 on cake last week. Their rules say you can only cash out $3000 at a time - so I'm trying to do that. All I'm getting are lame excuses why they can't send my money. I saw another post from someone who has been trying to get $800 from them for over 5 months. Is there ANY poker site out there that actually pays their players?

Yes.....there are many out there....they just can't/won't accept us
UIGEA screwed U.S players....sigh!!!!!

It will probably take 8-10 months to get 100% paid. Cake checks take 4-5 months on average. On that network I think Red Star Poker is the best choice for U.S. players. They accept up to $3000 by WU with a $15 fee on a Quick Pay and cashout that way or bank wire. Lock Poker has seen tremendous growing pains, Intertops stopped accepting new U.S. players, and most of the other U.S. facing skins share Cake's cashier.

The fastest payments come from True Poker/Americas Cardroom. They are owned by Betcris which is a massive sports book. The problems there is that almost every table is a jackpot table with extra rake and almost all of the games are micro and low NLHE.

Merge Gaming (Carbon Poker and friends) take 3-4 weeks to mail a check.

All of those sites are rakeback friendly so don't forget to sign up through a rakeback affiliate.
