Bit of a sneaky one this, they've sent me an email offering a 100% match up to £250 with a 30xB WR. I was on the cusp of taking it up for my weekend's slotting when I noticed the 'game exclusions apply' text, checked the T&Cs expecting it to be the progressives, but instead found this....

This offer applies to all slots games, excluding 3 Reel Hold-up, Double Diamond, Enchanted Unicorn, 5 Times Play, Rainbow Riches Win Big Shin Dig, Texas Teas and Wheel Of Fortune Triple Action Frenzy.
All other games are excluded.

Seems like a fairly odd selection of games, some basic reel games, some older video slots, and a newer video slot.

But want to guess what they all have in common? RTPs of 96.5% or higher! (Most of them are 97% or higher.)

It's still not a dreadful bonus, and there are plenty of slots to choose from that pay around 95% RTP, but it's clearly no coincidence that the highest paying slots on the site are explicitly excluded from the bonus offer. (If you crunch the numbers you could expect to meet the WR on a 97% slot and get your deposit back, on 95% or lower slots, not the case.)

Oh well, I have a wedge of cash in my safe at 3Dice so I'll be playing with that instead :)

I think it's a typo on their part; they said excluded twice..I think the first one in meant to be there, the second to read 'included'

Heh, I hadn't even noticed that.

Unless it's REALLY sneaky and you immediately forfeit all winnings the second you play any slot! :D

I thought the industry position was "who cares about the RTP", and is often used to justify non publication of such figures that will only serve to confuse players. Surely it is MORE confusing to have such an odd selection of game exclusions, that make absolutely no sense UNLESS you have an understanding of RTP.

As most players have little idea about the meaning of RTP when it comes to individual sessions, they will consider such odd exclusions as an attempt to trick them into breaking the rules, giving the casino an excuse to void winnings, yet keep losses.

If RTP doesn't matter, then why the fear of publishing the figures (Microgaming), and why the fear from operators (weird slot exclusions) that a small change in RTP makes enough of a difference for them to ignore the general rule of "keep it simple, stupid" when designing something for mass appeal.

I bet most players will play these excluded games because they like them, rather than because they have whipped out their scientific calculators and logically determined the best games to play.

For the knowledgeable, where an operator refuses to publish RTP, maybe looking for odd slot exclusions in the promotions is a means to determine which games have the highest RTP.

I note many Microgaming casinos exclude the Flash AWP "Lucky Darts" from some promotions, and when it comes to comps, it earns 1 per 100/200 credits wagered, rather than the slots norm of 1 per 10 wagered. Maybe this AWP is close to 100% RTP, rather like Craps, which is similarly excluded from bonus wagering and comp points.

If it weren't for my 'self-taught' training over the years, this is exactly the kind of T&C I'd have broken back in the day - there is no delineation whatsoever between the 'included' and 'excluded' slots for this promotion in Kerching's gamelist, they're all presented in exactly the same manner, as part of the same slots list.

At least when a 'class' (roulette/pokers/progressives/etc) of game is excluded it's (relatively) easy for a player to avoid them, but to exclude a small number of disparate slots in a large homogeneous list is a bit dodgy IMO.

It's no bother for me particularly, just reinforces the (small!) list of good casinos I'll play at, who keep getting deposit after deposit from me.
