I wanted to change the password on my High Noon Casino account as its one I usally put money in. Anyhowww when I asked on the live chat how one goes about this. They told me, they would ring me - I could tell them what I wanted my new password to be, and they would tap it in.

Actually I havent had to do this before, tell a CSR the password I wanted and frankly, it makes me a little uneasy. Is this the norm? Just curious.

Cheers:confused:

I thought as much..

I mean why would they need to put in my new password? Plus the fact my credit card details are in my account... so yeah, really uneasy

Definitely NOT the way to do it.
Whoever you tell it to, will have full access to your account. This is not "just" a matter of not having money stolen, but your account could be used for other things, aka money laundry etc.

Interesting thread... and pretty along the lines I've what Im thinking

Thanks for the tip on who to message, I will contact the Clubworld rep :)

Definitely not the norm.

There's a quite lengthy thread https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/threads/is-this-a-normal-requirement.35952/ you might find of interest, bu the short answer is DON'T GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORD.

You can private message the Clubworld rep https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/members/ and ask his assistance. I can't see where to change it myself.

you should get a temp password in the email and then change it to what the real one will be in a secure connection the telephone operator should know this

Don't ever sign up for a sportsbook account if you don't like revealing your password. It's the norm in that industry to give out passwords in chat/over the phone/etc.

That's a good point bpb, when I first started playing sportsbooks I wondered why that was. I still do kinda wonder, however I've never had any problems. That's not to say I'm crazy about the method.

I saying...

HIgh Noon Casino isnt a sports room, its a casino... lol Well still havent heard back from the rep. Will give it a few more days :)

If memory serves me correctly (but it's been a REALLY REALLY long time since I've played online so things could have changed a lot :))...

When you get the log in page, under the log in/password box in really tiny print, isn't there a link that says "forgot password"? When you click on it you can have an email sent to the email addy you registered so you can change the password.

I used to play at All Star Slots before they were bought by CW - when I opened the account they gave me a random string of numbers as a username and some gibberish as a password. I could never remember the password so once CW got it I asked if I could change my password and they had to do it from their end, I believe it was the rep here who changed it for me.

I don't think it's that big of a deal, your password is stored somewhere in a database anyhow, CS has access to it and if they wanted to steal it they could do it anytime. I know a couple of times I've had to use live chat to get my username and occasionally my password at MG casinos, I don't think RTG is any different.

Heard back from the High Noon Rep

To this very day All Star Slots still uses that crazy password but I can now memorise it and wont have to retrieve it thru email. Passing the info to a CS rep doesnt make sense and makes one wonder why they are so concerned with security documents when their own security measures are so lax.

They said, that only the chat operator who talked to me would know what my new password is, however that didnt really make me feel any better.

Then the rep said that 's/he' do it through here which I thought about but really, I just dont like people knowing my password.

They also suggested I could make another account then let them know the acount names and they would just close my other account. Now that sounded like the best, suggested yet, and thats exactly what Im going to do.

I like High Noon, I just prefer some things to remade confidential. Thanks everyone for your input, much appreciated :)

Make sure you make a print out of the email authorizing you to open a second account. Maybe send an email to the casino and cc back to yourself that you are proceding as suggested, and request confirmation that the first account is closed.

Last thing you want is some "multiple account" issue months or years from now cropping up when you hit Jackpot Pinatas!
