Well, given the UTTER CONFUSION around which casinos will or will not accept US players, this is simply not fair:-

If any US player manages to register, maybe it is because the casino has decided to still take US players, how are they to know if they receive duff marketing.

There needs to be a consitent approach, less than 7 days to go, and many casino groups have yet to say ANYTHING to players that might be affected.

FTR, JPF doesn't even have the USA listed in the installer, anymore.

And you're right. They've had enough time to let us know wtf is going on. They have no problem sending out bonus offers on an almost daily basis, but can't keep us in the loop for something as serious as this? I could understand if this happened yesterday, but not as long as a week.

Also, there's no confusion anymore. It's pretty cut & dry:

1. USA players can't sign up for new MGS accounts.
2. USA players can't play MGS progressives.

I'm sorry for you winbig, that would put a damper on my day for sure:( Not fair at all!

Isn't anyone as pissed as I am that the United States ( players ) supported them for years and they cut us off at the knees PERIOD ~! Even though they STILL can get OUR money ? I am reacting to this just as I did when OUR OWN gov't decided what was best for us ( which was NOT our freedom ). Piss on them ~!
Microgaming is only a software provider and these casinos are allowing them to DICTATE what & WHO can do what & WHEN.
Just think of all the thousands of Americans that gave them money for years and HELPED BUILD THOSE PROGRESSIVES ~! It is WRONG PERIOD !
I am 100% AGAINST ANY SITE that willingly takes my money and tells me what to do with it. I am also AGAINST ANY SITE that allows a software provider to TELL THEM who can play. When they close us out, I am out for good ~!
When the Americans ( AND THEY ALL SHOULD ) stop supporting them and they lose big $, too damn bad. Sure they will tighten up EVEN MORE for those that can, to TRY to make up the revenue. All that will do is create havoc on the entire industry. You will see more PAB's than you have ever seen on no payouts etc.....

It is not surprising to see so many leaving the playing field and I look to see more & more as time goes by. It is NOT good business, it is simply chicken shit behavior and a kick in the teeth to those that supported them for years !

It's definitely right, by any means, but what do you suppose these casinos do? Invest hundreds of thousands of dollars into switching software? Of course they're not going to do this. They're going to play the smart way and invest this money for marketing to other countries besides the USA.

MGS is being a bully about this....I'm sure the casinos do have a choice - play by our rules (MGS) or lose your license. Plain and simple.

I still want to know what the big Fu***ng deal is with the progressives but yet you can still play all the other games ?? WTF is that about...

Simply because $4M being paid out to a player from the USA is going to grab more attention than $4k...

I think they stand to lose more than hundreds of thousands with the Americans gone and with the others to follow from their tightening the noose to make up the difference not to mention their own reputations. Let's face it, daily there are new posts of fellow players leaving and daily there are many post of how tight they already are. It WILL get worse~~!!!
I don't think it's being bully more than I do being chicken shit & disrespectful to ALL who have made them rich ~!
Since it is NOT illegal, why is it happening in the first place ? If they TAKE the money, the players should be able to reap ALL the benefits everyone else does ~!
Too late for microgaming as far as many already feel. They have changed their software FOR THE WORSE and now they kick the Americans in the teeth.

The only ones left will be the TOTALLY ADDICTED and they will use any tactic to keep them feeding the monster.

They would never pay that much at one time anyway, I think most are paid in installments over a period of time !

Actually Microgaming does Rob, one lump sum, whether it's 1 Million or 4 Million, makes no difference. The progressive monies are held in a separate fund, and don't come out of each individual casino's fund, but from the fund for each game.

There was one exception years ago...gawd, I could be wrong, but I think it was Casino Rewards. A lady had posted on here that her brother won one of the big Progressives, and Rewards tried to jerk him along paying him in monthly installments. And if I remember correctly, the unpaid part of it was still accessible to him...as in he could write to support and actually reverse part of it to play. How low is that? I think that Bryan even got involved (at least in the thread), and stated that it was unacceptable and that the player should have been paid the whole thing in one shot. I do believe that he did finally get paid the whole amount after that. Does anyone else remember that thread....VWM, Winbig? You know I'm gonna obsess about it now til I find it, lol.

But....one lump sum or not...as Sdaddy stated in another post...why not just block the 1M plus progressives then? Don't the jackpots such as Wowpot, Cashsplash, etc. routinely go under 50K? As you stated Rob, someone could play high limit Thunderstruck, or Isis or some other game and win even more than that. Look at Webzcas a few months ago....how much did he win on Tomb Raider? Wasn't it 67K? What if that had been a U.S. player?

None of this whole mess makes a bit of sense. No logic, no rhyme or reason....and most importantly, no explanations of anything.

For this particular incident, I AM putting the blame on JPF. They've known for many many days that players in the USA cannot open up a new account at a MGS casino*. There's no rhyme or reason for them to be sending out promotional emails to American players asking them to sign up at one of their sister casinos. It's like a slap in the face, at least to me.

And I have YET to see an email to the fact that Progressive Jackpots are no longer available to USA players. Not from JPF, not from Villento, not from any casino. Are they waiting for us Americans to find out for ourselves? This is ridiculous, and these casinos need to get on the ball and do some damage control before they lose ALL USA customers - and I'm not talking about when/if MGS pulls out of the USA. I'm talking about all of us players from the USA that are fed up with all of their BS and boycott them altogether....because believe it or not, as of right now, WE STILL HAVE A CHOICE.

*Hell, read the email I posted above! They even say that if a player from the USA can get around the sign-up block, and happens to win, JPF WILL NOT PAY THEM! Whomever authorized that email to go out to EVERY player at JPF needs to be reprimanded, at the very least. Players from the USA should have NEVER been sent that email.

edit: Pina's right. MGS pays out progressives in one lump sum. I do believe it was CR that tried to pull the installment BS, and I seem to remember that after they got bad PR because of it, they ended up paying the player what was owed, in one installment. :)

Yea, I do believe that you are right as I went back and was looking at some old archived info I had saved here and that was the story I had remembered too when I said that about the installments but IIRC there were a couple more of those installment payment stories too, somewhere around here, I will try and see if I can locate those...

$100,000 Winner In Online Video Poker!
Yesterday, Todd F. from the US won a massive $100,000 payout on 50 Play Power Poker - Deuces Wild!

Aside from online progressive jackpots this is one of the single most biggest payouts weve ever had!

Way to go Todd. Wed love to heard some thoughts from you about this win.

A $100K win does not seem to be a payout problem though !! ;) and this win was last Wednesday !!

ya know, they never tell the whole story - IE: how much they were 'stuck' before they hit that win. :D

Yea, figured out what it was he hit...he was doing $125.00 bets and hit a pat Royal Flush 50 times which would be $100K on Deuces Wild !!

No telling how much he had pumped into the machine first though...:eek2:

This is not what they said though, it was simply "any American". The forum is littered with posts from players who are SUPPOSED to be blocked, but they are not, so there could be an INNOCENT reason for a US player accidentally signing up, the SOFTWARE could fail, and allow a LEGITIMATE registration, perhaps through the provision of an out of date installer that still allowed US registration, and the player going for the "instant gratification" of playing straight away - and casinos have said that they CANNOT do anything that would prevent this "instant gratification" because it would harm their business.

While JPF have posted regular updates, these seem to have fallen BEHIND events. First it was plain, but THEN JF poste that the original decision had been recinded, BUT that he would let all players know when a NEW decision was made. I didn't see this happen, rather the whole thing has gone very pear shaped indeed. It emerges that casinos are ALLOWING certain "high value" players an EXEMPTION from the block, however, there is no way for players to tell. This gives us a situation where we have a case by case blocking, and still no coherent information.

JF are now enacting their new decision, but there does not seem to have been the promised advance warning, other than MY prediction, which was that there would be chaos followed by an unnanounced mass locking of US accounts of players who had no idea THEIR casino was going to pull out.

They'll give you the $10.00 and if you win and try to cash out they'll find some excuse no to pay you, like we no longer except US players, our mistake..
But in the meantime it's probably a tax loss for them...

You know, now that I had a chance to really sit back and look at it, JPF knew exactly what they were doing. Why else would they need to put that disclaimer about new USA players in that email in the first place?

Of course they knew that it was going to be sent to Americans....but yet they did it anyways? That just makes it worse.

hahaha. It all comes together now.

They keep sending me this exact same offer, even though I complained about it, and they replied with an apology!!!!!

Of course, My response was I had closed my accounts due to poor treatment and the now newly formed kick in the teeth to the USA, so don't waste your time with me. Apparently, they still want OUR money but you can ONLY play what they tell you. Ta' Hell with that !!
