Good day, I won some money with no deposit bonus in jackpot247 casino, requested a withdrawal and got reply from their financial tem. They want me to send my passport + photo of me holding this passport. Live-chat support told me this is a standard check. But I haven't ever met such requirements. So could you please tell is it really standard security check And everybody sends id + own photo holding this id?

Thanks for help.

99 out of 100 online casinos will request ID documents at some point, usually following a withdrawal request and usually the first one!

This is far from uncommon, some will want docs even before you're allowed to play, most before you withdraw and some after 'X' amount has been withdrawn.

It is in place for player and casinos protection and for numerous reasons, including age verification, address confirmation etc. I have heard of the 'holding it' in the past, suppose this is to confirm that its YOU and YOUR ID, although IMO pretty pathetic

I used to play there a long time ago (before they were re-branded) and sent ID docs to w/d a couple of hundred quid.

Nothing to worry about I'm sure but with these guys as it is a NDB just make sure you've read the Terms and conditions and send your docs asap :)

Best of luck!

A bit odd for you to be asked holding the passport weird .Never heard of this before .You always have to send id in everywhere like passport and id .Why don't you email them back and ask why they wanted you to hold the passport ? .If they want to go over security check ask them to ring you to confirm your details .I would just send a pic of the passport and id nothing with my yourself in the pic never heard of that ? Look at their teams for withdraw does it says anything like that in it ?;)

They want you holding it to verify that you are the legal owner of the passport and not just someone who has a scan of the document.

O right well I never had to do that before with the top casinos just a funny way of doing it .I only in the past had to just send my passport and proof of address

Live-chat support said the same. That gentlman added also that this is a standard check.
Ok, sent them required.

Thanks for help.

It's a request that is seen more often and IMO beats having to pay and send notarized copies of ID.

I (and several other forum members) had such a request made quite a few years back, when no one else had heard of such a thing. We all complied, and we all got paid.

I had this request made of me not that long ago, and I am sorry that I do not recall which casino, but it was one undergoing baptism by fire. Since I didn't have a withdrawal pending, I never got around to it. Did get as far as me in my nightie making a duck face and holding a can of suds!

No Deposit Bonus are especially open to fraud, where some players have ID from many many people (hundreds even in some cases), and this is a pretty simple request to comply with.

The more recent request I had, they even suggested that a selfie taken in a mirror would be okay.

can't see how to add thank you to your reputation, sorry.
Dear Jasminebed, thank you!!!

You will get a thanks button when you make 10 posts.

I trust everything went smoothly? Have you received your withdrawal yet?

If you decide to continue to play with them, make sure you read all the terms carefully, especially any terms relating to bonuses.

That is not common, but I have read reports of it happening in other casinos. Most likely you have raised some flags based on how you played, how you deposited or where you logged in from. Their terms stipulate:

We may, at any point, demand reasonable additional documentation in the event of a security check including without limitation to prove Your identity and address to Our satisfaction.

so you cannot refuse/complain but of course you can try talking to them and asking for a different form of verification, but I agree with Jasminebed and others that those other options are probably even worse.
