Is Palin hot? (me thinks yes)

Speaking of which, has anyone seen that movie (I forget the name) about the tied presidential election, and it came down to one man's vote?? I haven't yet, but might have to....supposed to be pretty funny.

That's a great question GM but I must remind you that such numbers are relative as the US economy expanded by a greater percentage (and total dollars) than did spending. This is not "republican propaganda" but fact.

You are absolutely correct about republican brainwashing. McCain recently said: "We were elected to change Washington, and we let Washington change us".

Because I am divorced, I am in the mid-40% income tax bracket and believe that it will increase to at least 65% if democrats control the executive and legislative branches. Is it worth getting up every day and going to work for 35%? Not to me.
 
I don't know the intention of Mercys post so I'll wait for her to respond.

I just find it interesting that when Bill Clinton does something like going on Arsenio Hall's show and plays the saxaphone he is cheered like a rock star but this woman will probably be mocked no matter what she does.

This is why I hate to get into political conversations. I have been reading all the posts and when I want to comment I just keep my mouth shut.

Oh whatever, I think it's bedtime. 'night all...
 
As far as Sara Palin goes, I guess my question would be why all the loyal Republicans accept her without asking any hard questions...

Haven't the Republicans been burnt a lot recently by people that say they are one thing but in fact turn out to be something totally different, dark and unexpected...

So why shouldn't we all be asking hard questions of Sara Palin, Joe Biden and the other two that are running???

I find the fact that Sara Palin will not answer unscripted questions in public to be alarming... She wants the job as Vice President then she needs at the very least to do a few hostile interviews where hard questions are asked and answered...

As far as I am concerned, if she (or anyone of those running) can't answer the hard unscripted questions to EVERYONES satisfaction they do not deserve the job in the White House...

And to make a point... No one asked George Bush any hard questions he had to answer before he was first elected and just look where that got us...
 
Just to jump in here real quick.

I hope everyone understands that voting "Republican" is a vote against the Online gaming industry. The Republican platform explicitly states that they want to uphold laws that make online gaming illegal.

George Bush did that to please his right wing Christians. I'm pretty sure it's up to each state to stop gambling. Here in Florida where we have had 2 Republican Governors in a Row and we are still one of a few states that can gamble on line. I don't think McCain with pursue this issue if he is elected President.

Unless of course everyone had heeded my advice earlier in the year when the primaries had been going on and voted for Ron Paul...the only Republican candidate that did not oppose online gambling...:rolleyes:

Online gambling is your passion and livelihood but I see other issues as much more relevant. Vote democrat - vote higher taxes. It's pretty straightforward.
 
Don't get it twisted.

The folks that will pay more taxes are the ones that has been ripping US off for years! The super rich! They need to pay their fair share along with the banking, oil and other corporations!

Anyone that wants the freedom to gamble online will have a better chance with the DEM's. :D

Voting for a VP because she is hot is exactly why our country is in the horrible shape it is in today. The United States of America is on the brink of a DEPRESSION folks. You better wake up before its to late. :D

No one holds them accountable for spending 10 billion US dollars A MONTH in Iraq and the fact they they want to stay there for 5 to 10 more years is CRAZY and irresponsible.

The democrat/republican debate has been going on since 1912 and will endure for some time to come. I doubt anything posted on this forum will decide the issue. But simply complaining that the president is at fault for all problems is not logical or reasonable. Entire life savings and retirement plans were lost during the dot.com bust but Bill Clinton was not to blame. Should he have pushed laws againt greed? Once we all take individual responsibility for the current state of affairs, things will improve. Obviously today's financial crisis is due to a correction in real estate values. Was it not the mortgage brokers, real estate agents and bankers (especially on Wall Street) that caused this?

Super rich: over 70% of ALL U.S. income taxes are paid by the wealthiest 10%.

For online gambling: democrats, of course.

Palin: who said they were voting for her because of looks? And really, do you know anyone that voted for Cheney because HE is hot?

Iraq war: 7 straight years without a significant terrorist attack on US soil by accident?

Exactly!!! That proves my point! The Bush clan LIED to the world to start a war and now they are stuck in a situation that can only get worse.

Iraq did NOT attack us and we should not be over there wasting human lives and a ton of money. We need to pull our troups out ASAP.

It's a fact that the rich and corporations DO NOT pay the same percentage of taxes as the normal hard working person like me.

Everybody bitch about welfare for the poor, but it's okay to to give our tax dollars away if it's for a foreign country or a corporation.

When no one can afford to own a home, buy gas, food and other products then folks will start to work TOGETHER to find a solution. Both parties have major issues, but I'm sick of the way things are today and am ready for a change.

Major banks, and corporations are dropping like flies and I/we are left holding the bill. It's very sad, but I do NOT feel bad for a CEO that made millions of dollar for bonus last year while others suffered and lost their job! Their greed is coming around to bit them in the butt.

Or was it the conservative policies of letting corporations like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac run wild and regulate themselves... The Conservatives policies of pandering to the special corporate interests like the oil and power companies, promoting and protecting trade and labor policies that are bleeding the wealth right out of this country...
Naw it wouldn't be any of those things that caused the problems we are having....:rolleyes:

There is no doubt, it has been the policies of the conservative leadership of this country over the last thirty-five years that have ended us up where we are at.
Conservatives have controlled our government 28 of the last 35 years... I think it is obvious who is to blame.

We are doing a great job of destroying ourselves all by ourselves, all those Saudis in those planes had to do on 9/11 was light the fuse...

What was good about America really died the day the so called "Patriot Act" was passed by Congress and signed by the President...

Yea, I heard that yesterday and was actually surprised because my dad is the same age as McCain and he's been using a computer for ten years now and sends emails frequently with no problem...

My mom is 67 and I trained her on the computer several years ago to keep track of my affiliate accounts and tax information.

I was shocked when I heard that because it DEFINATELY means that online gambling is NOT something that he has ever done or probably have an interest in supporting. :D hehehe

I also wanted to say that I'm only against Palin because of her views on guns, and womens rights and several other things. Other than that I'm confident that almost ANY woman can do better than the folks currently in charge of running our country into a looming depression that will eventually affect the entire world in one way or another.

But they left office eight years ago. Being connected wasn't as crucial as it is now. Now it's the time for a youthful forward-thinking administration. The US doesn't need a conservative old man running things at the moment. The world doesn't have the patience or desire to deal with this anymore. (This being spoken from someone outside looking in btw :D)

Everything the US does affects other nations, and I don't think half of the voters realize this.

Warren Buffet (#1 on the Forbes Billionaires 2008 list) came right out and said he should be paying more in taxes, and is actually fighting to make sure other wealthy people do the same. It's pretty sad when someone with his money is paying ~ 17% in taxes and the average employee pays ~33%.

The billionaire said he was paying 17.7% payroll and income tax, compared with an average in the office of 32.9%.

Ok, I got you now and I remember watching that back a few months ago on one of the channels, Warren Buffet would have made a good president too IMO with the right folks surrounding him but the problem is, anyone that would be really worth a s**t doesn't want the job...;)

oh crap, i know im gonna regret this but gotta say it, John Mcain is an american hero, who suffered and has always given to his country, even his own blood in a stinking pit from hell as a P.O.W and for that i admire him greatly and anyone that wears the uniform, even yourself bryan,, what has the other candidate done for his country? can anyone tell me? im sorry bryan but imo only, i will be voting for that conservative old man and mrs. palin. isnt that one of the things that makes us a great nation? our freedom to vote for whom ever we please:)...............laurie

I totally agree with your views and the reasoning behind them. John McCain was not my first (or second or third) choice among conservative hopefuls. But the fallacy behind your argument is this: 1. We need a youthful, forward-thinking administration (true IMO); 2. Obama is youthful and forward-thinking (true IMO) hence 3. Obama is the better candidate (not true IMO). His proposed changes in federal policy are not possible, by his own admission, without substantially increasing taxes. The "change" Obama will bring is more regulation on our personal freedom and much higher taxes. Obama is change for the sake of change only.

Well, lets think about this for a sec...ok long enough...who was the president and what party does he belong to that implemented and signed into law "The Patriot Act" the single largest loss of liberties the American public has ever suffered ??

Have you ever actually took the time to read it...I think you would change your views a little if you did !!

Ok, on the much higher taxes issue, out of the last 36 years there has been in office a Republican President for 24 of those years and you are worried about Obama raising our taxes...are you serious...:lolup:

Neither of these clowns deserve to be in office, IMO. Don't just vote for one because you dislike the other. That's what helped us get in the mess we are now.
 
Instead of posting one of my long-winded yet factually correct diatribes here...(So tempted. Sooooo tempted.)...I do have two things to say...

First, Ron Paul is against a woman's choice, including in the cases of rape or incest.....

And, a good seventy percent of the posts in this thread prove that the myth of the liberal media is just that...a myth. Either that, or actual facts don't matter.

:) That was a joke about Ron Paul. While he has some good ideas, his horrible ideas negate the positive ones and then some.

Palin is a loose cannon.
My prediction is that if she is the VP, two or three years from now we'll be hearing that McCain regrets picking her, that he finds her difficult to work with, too stubbon. a Mule with lipstick. :)

When some around me were picking Guliani I said no way, he's an amateur. how far did go? Same for Palin she's an amateur, that's why they are sheltering her, it shows.

You don't want a pushover in power as they're weak but you don't want someone too stubbon either as they're blind.

Don't fall for the earmark spin. Earmark spending is about 1-2% of the budget although it's a start but it's not going to make a dent.

Lastly, I prefer pro choice as it gives a woman the option of being either, whereas pro life doesn't.

Palin being completely anti-choice has already been posted in this thread, but no one had mentioned Ron Paul's stand...so I did.
