Immortal Romance slots suddenly turns very cold for me, anyone notice that?

To be quite honest - It is related to the Variance of the Slot. A number of low paying features or Wild Vine features and then one that pays over 2000x bet... That's how most High Variance Slots were designed.

Despite my reservations, I decided to give it one more try last night because I was just one feature away from getting the "Wild Vine" spins, which I've never had before.

When I finally got them I was a bit excited... but not for long. I only got the Wild on reel 3 once - it gave me one more wild.. and $0.
So after 25 free-spins I "won" bet x 3... :eek:

I got the feature a few more times and it was a bit better, but the killer was the last one when I had good symbols on reels 1 & 2 and got the Wild Vine on reel 3; So it gave me 3 extra wilds - all on reel 5, which did not increase my win 1c.

It is now completely clear to me that this feature (just like Loki on TS2) is definitely NOT RANDOM! :mad:
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the base game is random, but when it comes to the free-spin features I think the amount you will win is predetermined and not the result of random spins.
OK, at the end of the day it might make no difference, but I still don't like it.

Is it just me,or do the wild vine things seem to go to the right 99% of the time?

Had many spins on this and choose this feature most of the time (god knows why) and I have only ever seen them go left twice.

You're absolutely right, in saying it's not random. i'm sure the result is pre determined, and frankly, I think it is before you even pick the feature, so it doesn'r matter which one you pick.
99 out of a hundred times (No I haven't counted, but I'm sure I'm close), the wines will only appear on the middle reel, or move right. HARDLY ever left.
In my opinion it's the worst of the features, and I don't pick it any more. Not because I think it pays more or less than the other features, but because it annoys the living crap outta me, to never see them move left ...lol
I like the "rolling" feature, and have had some very good wins on that....tho I have no doubts, that moneywise it would be the same, regardless of which one I picked
 
In the rare time times the wild vine has went left for me, I have always won over 100x bet. If its paying big it goes left,but if its not then it just usually skirts around reels 3 and 5.Then all you can hope for is a 5 of a kind with the wild vine to get anything decent.

I never usually touched the rolling feature as never won higher than 5xbet on that and the same goes for its TS2 counterpart.

I have a little system for picking the feature,as I never know what to pick,its dependant on the 3rd from right digit (hundredth) of my coins balance when the feature gets activated:
1 or 2 then I pick the first (x5) feature.
3,5,7 I pick the bats or crows(ts2)
4,6,8 I pick the wild vine or loki(ts2)
0 or 9 I pick the rolling reels.

Late December and early January were very poor for me on IR. Most nights I could easily do 600 or more spins before getting a bonus (which ended up paying less than (£20/$20).

In recent days things appear to have loosened up a little. I'm now triggering bonuses roughly every 70 spins and literally minutes ago got my first three column 'Wild Desire' (See Screenshot thread)

I've learnt my lesson with IR and take a break after a couple of hundred spins and come back for more spins later.

P.S. Thunderstruck II is a paying better as well in the last week or so
 
I can echo the Wild Vine feature, it always either spams reel 3 with wilds, or goes straight to reel 5, I've yet to see it go left of middle on any of the times I've chosen it.

This now leads me to pick the x5 feature every free spins.
 
It's still not paying me well! I got three bonuses ( $1.50 bet ) and only pays me $7!! What happen to our Immortal Romance? Been like these for past few weeks.
Lost $400 on this slot, and decided to play other slots and luckily to get back all my losses. Hmmpf. :(

i played this and have had the wild desire bonus 100+ times... never got more than 2 reels...

then a few days ago at 32 red i played the slot again and got two wild desire feature in the small session i had. Both of them with 3 rows of wild. Of course it generated 0 in win. But I think MG is playing around with the slot...

How could this be?? hehe.. Can I NOT be one of them? I mean.. last time the slots pays everytime.. and if you want to complete wagering, IMMORTAL ROMANCE is the best slot to play with.
You can easily clear a wagering with IR slot. Now only SELECTED few will get big wins?? This is ridiculous..

Last time, I usually look forward to bonus round and sure to get more than $100+. Now, a normal payout round is better than in bonus round!!

this night i was playing immortal romance and for the first time i hit 5 lions scatters not once but twice in less than 1 hour do it happen to someone else ? first time it pay me 240$ i was playing at 1.20$ and second shot it gived me 600$

After losing well over £300 on this slot over last week I finally got a nice win on 30p spins. 4 wilds paying £486. Not a massive profit compared to loss but I was grateful to get money wagered back with a profit :)

It was my first experience of both extreme lows and highs. My previous plays had been more modest losses and wins. Back to terminator 2 for me with only occasional short plays of Immortal Romance. I can't bear the variance!
 
Wasn't gonna post to this thread but as Its my (or was) fave game, I gotta agree.

Tin foil and conspiracy theories aside, it has definaltey (whats the word I'm after) erm, gone SHITE!

Latter part of last year I had:-

3 x 4-reel W/D
A bonus round of at least 100x most deposits, regardless of choice of Character
Regular lengthy play time, even if the end result was break even or a small loss

This year and especially this month

Talk to the screen, 'How am I supposed to get a (insert swear word) feature If i can't even get 2 scatters never mind 3

What's a Wild Desire which consists of more than just the 4th or 5th reel and is 9/10 'busted'

and the amount of times the 'Wild' appears on reels 1 and 4 with no win is unreal.

Now I know there is no little RTP gremlins at MG headquarters but when you do thousands of spins a month on the same game you do notice patterns and notice them even more when the winning ones totally vanish.

I ain't bothered cos i still play it and take the rough with the smooth but would really love to visit 'Area 51' one day :p
 
I had a totally dead session last night playing all sorts with a bonus playing about x12 and a biggest win of about x25. TS3, IM, HoG all piles of boring poooo. :(

I have to say that IR has been one of the very few bright spots during my losing streak (Golden Era is the other).
To the extent that it is the ONLY slot I am playing at 60p bets at the moment. Sure, I've had a couple of bad sessions,
but the good ones have outweighed the bad.

Here's what I've managed to get on IR during the losing streak....all of these came on 60p bets.

2 more 3-reel WDs, both of which 5OAKed - £216 (Campus and 10s) and £54 (10s).

I've also managed...

TWO Troy features that broke the £100 barrier (£112 and £102).
Amber features which paid out £104, £96, £80 and £60
TWO 4 Sarahs plus 3 wilds base game hits (for £97 and £86).
A 5 Sarahs plus 2 wilds (for £70)

And I also had my first-ever double re-trigger on the Amber feature (though it somehow STILL failed to win me 60x bet!) :mad:

I wouldn't say I was killing it on IR recently (for example, that £216 WD win I had actually cost me £105 to get), but I am certainly ahead.

And given how much damage all the other games have done to me during this bad run, it's a damn good thing too.

Well mate, that particular session was obviously one of the bad ones lol. It's like what dunover said in the Winner Videos thread
(about his own recent losing streak)....there seemed to be no middle ground. It was either Boom or Bust.

Very few of my sessions "ended 0-0", so to speak.
 
Nightmare on Jon's PC Part XVII for me tonight too, more sequels than Jaws n Rocky combined :

2 deposits combined total less than an hour at minimum bets and some of that was in 'Minimum bet survival mode' (Thunderstruck at 0.09p trying to claw some back)

Hoping tomorrows DOTD @ 32R is 100% just to give me that extra 10 mins play time cos I can't help myself for heading straight to IR, thinking 'Surely its gotta give in one day' :rolleyes:

Right at the end of the weeks budget so need some output from Sarah n Co 2moro to cure the usual groundhog day weekend yawndom :eek:

We all know these slots are great on a good day but not too many of those lately.
 
I have extremely low expectations now when it comes to slots for this month at least.

I guess after having such a hot february and early march it was always going to happen but the change in fortunes feels so sharp. I have had some minor wins recently but not at the games I regularly play. I barely play for example high society (MG) but I managed a nice x400 bonus round at minimal stake to withdraw at $100 which has been extremely rare for me the last month. All my regular slots (IR, Reel Steal, Jewel Box, Dead or Alive, Fat Lady Sings, Alaskan Fishing, Lucky Witch) have been giving me bad vibes and after 3 weeks of punishing sessions I have not played any of them except for reel steal - and now I don't think I want to touch that slot ever again lol.

I am experiencing my very first long losing streak and I am still fortunate that because I won alot in February that I'm not in the negative but I am slowing down my slotting for the next month and have self-exlcuded myself from a few casinos for a month and lowered my weekly deposit limits for the others. I guess when you play more like I had when I had alot of free time in mid-march till early-April I was hoping for at least long sessions but for at least 80% of my deposits I never managed to go above my starting balance.

A check back and in the last month I have lost about $1200 worth of deposits! I guess thats not quite low rolling but somehow I am still in the positives overall but not by that much.

Wont touch immortal romance though until I am winning something at other slots because this year immortal romance has been really bad for me - at least its good to know others are winning on it like I did last yr but remember it will never last so I'd say take a break from IR while you are WELL ahead if you can!

Regarding quitting IR while ahead - that is exactly what I'm doing :) although in my case it's a modest lead after a £486 (4 wilds desire) feature on 30p spin that recuperated my IR losses. Playing Rabbit in the Hat which for Microgaming deserves far more credit than its getting. It's a fun slot and enjoyable to play something innovative and new :)
 
I quit playing IR while I was ahead. No other reason than the experience that it seems to be high variance and you can go bust in minutes. Once I hit 4 reels in Wild Desire and got in the range of €1k with a .60 bet, I was done. Overall I'd say I am hundreds ahead on the thing and that's it, no more. Not a big fan of the games of this company either way, so I play what I like and this company usually provides games that are not my thing.

What I think is interesting (to say the least!) is that while playing slots is a losing proposition to begin with, that some people are under the impression that payout can be altered from this losing proposition to an even more losing proposition. By whom, exactly?

It's the equivalent of saying "I'll play some blackjack and I'll play blackjack with a dealer that I suspect is cheating". Surely you can't be serious?

Expect to lose, hope to win. That's how it goes. No over 100% RTP slots out there in a categorical sense of RTP, that's for a reason.
 
You should have steer clear of some of dodgy slot that doesn't give you reliable payout in regular game. Don't chase your loss. Find the slots game that gives you reliable payout. The worst payout would have to be Lord of the Ring or The Dark Knight, 3 nines = 2 cents? wtf. LOL Normally most slot gives you at absolute minimum of 5 cents payout for 3 of a kind of nine in standard way from memory I have seen on most slots machine and even standard of 5 of a kind of nine is $1.00 minimum. Lord of the Ring or The Dark Knight only give you laughable 30 cents or 60 cents whatever their payout table set out. I find Avalon II is very good so far for very reliable payout in regular game with much better layout of paytable for example.

I used to get 5 Reel Wild Desires every session I play. Hence why I got bored of this slot it was paying out too much too often

Heres a screenshot of one of my biggest 5 reel wild desire wins betting at 0.30p, a massive win of $67.50. I have seen screenshots of people winning more than $2,000 on a 5 reel WD at 0.30p but believe me those screenshots have been photoshopped where as mine is as genuine as they come.

Even get a special message from amber right after my many 5 reel WD's. I have taken her advice and it has helped !!!

Can well believe it mate, I play it most days and don't think I've managed 5 never mind 50, tin foil aside, something has defo changed about that game.

Forgive my conspiracy theories but it's almost like MG clocked its their most popular game ever and take well advantage of that fact!!!
