I'm currently listening to...

'Dansadu vindur' was so uplifiting i did not expect this one to be so spooky.

She's got that 'something', and is pretty unique. I much prefer this song over the previous one

Shes Faroese which makes listening to her songs a bit weird for me.
I think their language is a mix between Icelandic and Danish, both those languages have many words that are if not the same atleast very similar to Swedish words, so i get this feeling i should be able to understand her songs but am only able to understand like 15-20% and the rest just sounds like old norse jibberish.
Need to fix this before we go for Viking raid 2.0

@ternur
Do Finnish people understand Faroese?

Dansadu Vindur is fully in Icelandic i think, but i cant tell if Í Tokuni is in Faroese or if shes mixing Faroese and Icelandic.

Both Icelandic and Faroese is much closer to the original old norse all other Nordic languages (except Finnish) evolved from.
So in a way they are much more viking than the rest of us.

I think it's fair to say nobody understands Faroese.

A bit like Danish.

Yeah, enough with hard to understand 'artsy' songs.
Some classic orchestra to get things back on track.

We usually only post top pop songs and easy to listen tracks in this thread.

Although Goatwack sometimes likes to be the forum's resident edgelord with his peculiar taste in music.

From Iceland to Scotland.
Apparently those two countries are much more connected than i thought they were.

"Even today, sixty percent of the total population of 330,000 Icelanders are of Norse descent. Thirty-four percent are of Celtic descent. It is believed Scottish monks arrived in Iceland prior to the settlement of the Vikings, thus the initial connection to the current Celtic heritage."

Probably fair to say that if I was Picasso, I would be just coming out the other side of my 'blue' period, luckily with both ears!

During which, I even chose to snub my one love in favour of feeling sorry for myself.

Thank the heavens above for music, I am safe in the knowledge that I am only ever one song away from feeling fantastic again....even if I do forget on occasion.
