I'm a f***twit

Seems like it is a daily battle fighting off scummy affiliates. Frankly, I'm pretty fed up with this.

Here is the website he tried to stealthily promote:

playpokiesonline.com.au/pokies-resources.html

Listed on the site are Brightshare and Wagershare properties.

Back in the day, I would report these assholes to their affiliate managers and they'd close the accounts. Unfortunately, times seem to have changed. Affiliates like this are given free reign. But I'm reporting them anyway.

Spammer's email address and IP (should have read the rules before spamming this forum)

alisonhoward@myself.com
IP 120.59.5.99

Thanks for reporting this BMWSTACK - I owe you a beer.

Wagershare use a system where a landing page is used only by one affiliate:

xxhttp://www.rubyfortune.com/aussie-pokies-online/xx

Same affiliate has this landing page at Spin Palace:

xxhttp://aud.spinpalace.com/casino-games/pokies/xx

Following backlinks from that site and we have the same affiliate network mentioned in this thread:

https://www.casinomeister.com/forum...d-by-casino-affiliate-programs.62190/?t=62190

I feel ya. I don't even have a forum and still have a constant onslaught from bots, mostly from China. In one month they attempted over 300,000 spam comments. My server was constantly crashing as a result.

Does vbulletin have a plugin that can check IP addresses against Project HoneyPot or StopForumSpam? That would probably cut down on the amount of time you have to spend fighting this garbage.

Well, there's CleanTalk - available at www.cleantalk.org - that does a pretty good job. It uses its own spam database, but it's very up to date.

Actually, what you see here is what gets through the gauntlet of spam extraction. We have a number of ways to detect spammers, but there are always a few that get through.

You seem to do a good job of keeping it under control, even though it sucks that you have to take time away from more productive activities to deal with it. I'm thankful for your time and efforts though, since it reduces the amount of clutter.
