No way on gods green earth would I put my name out there. I assure you there would be people from your kindergarten all the way to people you havent even heard of from other countries contacting you for some of that money. You would have your charity's both legit and bogus ones asking for donations. Even as far as banks trying to get you to open saver accounts etc.

It's even happened here about 2 years ago. I think it was our good ole mate Nate who was getting private messaged for money from a member here who saw a lot of nates winner screenshots and his big wins.
This member contacted a few different members here saying he/she had a sick sister that needed an operation and they needed a certain amount or she would die.

Nope, The people who let there names out are in for one hell of a shock let me tell you.

I agree with you. I was thinking about it when I was reading the article on that guy that just won the 5.4M Mega Moolah, with his name and face all over the page. It's awesome for the casino, but he won't be able to trust anyone anymore and unless he's well prepared, he might not enjoy his money as much as he should because of this.

I'm still not sure if some casinos out there can refuse to give you your money if you request to remain anonymous. I'd not be surprised if it would be buried in there in some T&C's:rolleyes:

Some can't remain anonymous.

Especially the major prize winners.

At minimum a name would be released. Many probably want to be anonymous IMHO.

No doubt you've heard about the unfortunate lottery winner that was killed. Amazing story, the killer approached the guy as an author writing about the subject of lottery winners, then convinced him to put his finances in her control, then she put him in a concrete slab in her backyard.

So the answer to your poll: Anonymous :axeman:

Totally anonymous. In fact if the wife and I won the lottery we wouldn't actually tell anyone - even our family. Just seems to cause to many problems.

Obviously we'd still want to give some to our family, so we'd just have to find a creative way of doing it anonymously ;)
