I wanted to ask this question when I was reading a long thread about a certain casino and manager, but forgot about it.

So here is the question......how can a casino/manager just take peoples money or switch rules as they go? I do not understand? Lots of casinos are doing it aren't they?

Does that mean I could open up my own casino, and just never pay players and make up excuses not to pay them?

This just does not make sense to me :what:

Thanks for answering me...why have a section called "ask casinomeister" if your not going to answer?

It was a serious question, I just doesn't seem legal to have casinos not pay?

I "think" he's answered this before Just Play, or similar questions, but I'm not positive. Legal where? Who are you going to complain to if a casino doesn't pay? For the most part, they are unregulated and can do whatever they like. Half of them are run out of places such as Antigua, Costa Rica, etc. Who is going to hold them to task if a player from the U.S. or Canada or wherever doesn't get paid. The reputable ones will agree to a mediation service such as Casinomeister provides, but for the ones like Virtual, Crystal Palace, et al. who are you going to complain to? And who is going to make them pay up?

The UK is taking the initiative and bringing some regulation in shortly, but that's a whole long, convoluted story in itself....involving taxing and licencing, etc.

Hope that helps a little bit?

Jeeze louise! You post this on a Saturday and start raggin' on me on Monday for not rushing in and answering your question. Some people don't work weekends (moi), and it takes me a few hours to get through the forum on Mondays.

The casinos that are are doing this are the ones that people are complaining about. Most of the payment complaints are stemming from US players complaining that the casinos are taking too long to pay, even though they have been warned for months that they will have problems.

Other players are complaining because they have been profiled as bonus "abusers".

Periodically, players will complain that a casino isn't paying because it disappeared. This doesn't happen too often. Right now we are looking at Action Online (Playtech) and Hype Gaming (Hype) that have gone into silent mode.

The thing is, there are many reasons why players complain. You have to look at each situation differently.

You want to open your own online casino? It's not as easy as it sounds.

I wasn't ragging on you :(

I don't want to open my own casino, I'm lucky I know how to "quote" someone, computer moron here.

I guess my whole point was if people were giving money to anything, and don't get the product "payout" it has to be illegal doesn't it? If you buy something from tv or online, you receive your product, if not you call whomever and get your money back.

How can a company "casino" take money and not payout? If they can just make up rules as they go along, then why can't other companies?

I just thought when you opened a casino it would be a business, and like other business' they have to answer to someone.

It just doesn't seem right does it? Having a million/billion dollar company that can do whatever it want's?

Antigua, Costa Rica must have laws, I mean if someone in US or Canada did this, they would be shut down pretty quickly no?

p.s. Casinomeister if you answered this before I apologize, and I didn't know you didn't work on weekends. I am just dumbfounded that a company can do this.

There are also a few other things that have rolled into threads. If as an example a player had cheated, the money would be removed as a "Manager Withdrawal" and some players push that point thinking the money is theirs. Also a number of casinos have no time table on playing a player. So they say "Yes, you won 10k" and remove the money, and send the player 100.00 every couple of weeks.
Although casino's are a business in Costa Rica, it is just that a business, it does not matterwhat the business is.
