Okay, I am a newbie and will admit it. But I am totally confused about funding firepay or paypal with a credit card. Paypal accepted my information and then you have to wait 3-4 days for the transaction to go through? I thought one of the advantages of using a credit card would be the instant availability of funds. Please help! Thank you.

Hi gumdropz,

Newbie? You're pretty sharp checking out this site and others like it before making deposits at online casinos. I could go on and on about people who get screwed, and then seek advice after the fact. Kudos for you!

Paypal in my honest opinion, is the way to go. Now for your "instant availabilty of funds" it depends on which casino your dealing with {no pun intended  }. Most Visa/Mastercards deny purchases from online casinos, but if the casino lists what is purchased other than player's chips, your payment might go through immediately.

For instance Slotland, when I make a deposit there via paypal, my credit card is debited almost immediately, and I can go ahead and play. They are listed as Western Global Processing Network Ltd. and what is purchased is a "deposit".

Now I have found that when making deposits via paypal at microgaming casinos (Proc-Cyber Services, player's chips)or Cassava Enterprises (casino-on-net), they are normally denied stating that my credit card turns down purchases at online casinos. I need to make a deposit into my paypal account via whatever (which may take 2-3 days), but then I can use these funds for whatever I want.

Hopefully you're not so confused now.

Guess i should update the FAQ!

Thanks so much for the info. Actually, I have been reading for about a month now regarding the different casinos and such and have followed the RTG and other debacles pretty closely. I didnt want to become just another online victim. Now that I am armed with some of the facts and have been reading your newsletter for a while, I feel like I am ready to start with a reputable casino. I have decided to get my feet wet with Slotland as I have read many good things about them and your recommendation carries a lot of weight. Thank you for the clarification. Keep up the good work.

gumdropz,

You should have no problems with
Slotland. Great customer service.
And they pay in a timely fashion!
Study the games a bit, as some of
them have "special" features that
you need to be aware of to utilize
them properly.

GOOD LUCK!!

I thought Mastercard have stopped allowing deposits to 3rd parties such as PayPal and Firepay altogether..

I am almost definate that Mastercard have stopped allowing any casino credits to be returned to card point blank.

Almost definate i said mind. When online,i never really know what to believe to be honest..

Probably not the right place for this but cant find any topic related to my question so here goes i'd like to know if when playing video poker if doubling does doubling count towards the wager requirements or is this counted as part of that hand? did i explain that properly? well i suppose i will find out soon enough, thanks for any help.

Never even crossed my mind.Well spotted sir.

At a guess,i'd say no.

Although it is yours to collect before you double,so i could'nt say you were wrong to beg to differ..

One of the more knowledgable people here will know for sure..

I think in cytech casinos you can double forever. I wonder if they would pay out millions if you were lucky?

Often you can double 4 or 5 times (about 3% chance of 5) but if you doubled another 5 times again (around 0.1% chance) then you could make $1000 into over a million.

Most games are impossible to get anywhere near that due to the maximum wager size and there would be a house edge to it.

I remember I used to try it in fun mode!

I've come out with some strange stuff lately... I've been a bit sleep deprived the last couple of days and now I've just slept 12 hours, I'm wondering how you'd get a $1000 win in the first place and who'd be crazy enough to keep on doubling!

I think there is something in it though! What do you think of this strategy: Play using the lowest denomination and instead of collecting, you should keep doubling until you reach at least $5 or $10 or whatever you set it at. Wouldn't this decrease the house advantage because most of your wagers would be even chance bets!!!!!

Well thankyou for the responses amandajm and sirius, i did find out my answer, some casino's will class doubling as a continuation of the hand so it doesn't go towards wager requirements (vegas villa) Others will say the doubling goes towards the wager requirements (some cytech casinos) But now is it really worth doubling,if you hit a royal while doubling it doesnt count(obviously) but if you hadnt doubled would the next hand have been the royal. Just a thought, needless to say up to now i usually double 3 times then stop. Only on small wins though :)

Same software as Video Poker Classic.

The owner of Goldenballs is one of the worst
spammers I have ever come across in all my years online. On top of that, he is a first class jerk for being rude to some of his best players.

HOWEVER, I do believe his operation is legit,
since one of my relatives managed to win several thousand there, and she cashed out without a problem.

Has anyone played at

I'm sure this is a new casino and it looks ok although i'm having some trouble downloading some games, anyone won here? had any problems? are they honest? you know the sort of info i'm after :) Thanks again

Well...I'm checking out the site now...in their FAQ they state:

Q: Are the games fair?

A: All of our games undergo rigorous testing by an independent testing facility called E-Gaming Directory. E-Gaming Directory randomly tests the outcomes of our games and certifies them only if they pass. We are proud of our E-Gaming Directory certification, we are also a member in good standing of the Internet Gaming Commission.

E Gaming Directory? I guess they mean the egamingcommission  Good standing with the Internet Gaming Commission? (whatever that means...they aren't listed at the IGC).

No mention of a software provider (minus thirty points) but I'm pretty sure it's Real Time Gaming since all of the text is RTG all the way (about us, etc.) It can't be too new since there are quite a few "testimonials" they've been up since at least December 2001 (according to the Wayback Machine)

Last but not least, their whois info. (another site set up by a yahoo account)

IGC = Interactive Gaming Council (Sue Schneider, Rick Smith et al - the "real" IGC - lobbying etc etc.

Internet Gaming Commission is really a kind of portal with a cunningly chosen acronym.

I'm not familiar with the eGaming Directory - probably another portal maybe in bed with the "other" IGC...

egamingcommission - one of Tony Friedman (Windows/OCMA) little ventures run out of Budapest. LOL.

QUOTE E-Gaming Directory randomly tests the outcomes of our games and certifies them only if they pass.UNQUOTE I think this could kindly be called a bit of blarney - how is it tested, what are the testing unit's qualifications etc etc.

Casinomeister also gets a plug in Jerry Patterson's new updated version of
Blackjack: A Winner's Handbook (C)2001

I was just reading this at Barnes & Noble.
In the back of the book, there is a great chapter on internet gambling, and the randomness of the cards. Casinomeister is only 1 of 3 portals he mentions in the entire book. Jerry Patterson also makes a major endorsement for Bossmedia casinos, claiming Boss does not use psuedeo random number generation like most other software providers, but rather a Geiger Mueller tube detector -- which generates truly random results.

The other 2 portals mentioned were:
got2bet.com
internetcommission.com

CBS Market Watch and an honorable mention in a book all in one week, eh Bryan? Well done - makes all the hard work worthwhile.

Hi
Just want to let all know
I AM AN AVATARBINGO MEMBER AND PROUD OF IT
I have been playing there for quite a while now and think it is the best bingo place to play very courteous CM's and patrons are wonderful and friendly and fun to play with
Great and helpful support very fast to respond to any question

SandyHere

That's nice Sandy. Unfortunately, too many people have been stiffed there to lend credence to your rant. Also, I personally know that you are friends with the management. Does it really belong on this board?

The Spam-ola for Avatar bingo is the same
kind of B.S. that GoldenballsCasino and
PinkLadyCasino were doing, when they offered
$10 to you for posting something "nice"
about their casino.

Avatar is now grouped in the same catagory
with these other two "losers", as far as
I'm concerned!

What the hell? What kind of message is that Sandyhere? A big time no-no in this forum. A good way to get banned.

Avatarbingo has been not recommended by Casinomeister for about a year now. And no rebuttals have been presented by their staff.

Bryan

I can tell you why its here, Bryan. Same old story. The manager at Avatar used to be a manager in iB (AiB), the same lovely people who bring you the rip off artists at Atlantic interBet. SandyHere is still a pitboss in iB. Big time connection, no credence at all.
