How does Facebook skirt around online gaming in the US ?

I have been playing the free versions of gambling sites on Facebook and wonder how they can get away with this as you buy credits but at most of them you can not win money , some you can win trips and comped rooms in Vegas and so forth.

Was just curious as why hasn't the US Goverment cracked down on them like they have on off shore online gaming. I do play for fun as I have found games outside of RTG that I played way in the past before it all went to hell in a hand basket for US players...................Just wondering

It's not international wire transfer and they do not pay winnings.
What surprises me is that Facebook the one with the most money to make hasn't been the biggest voice in trying to get gaming regulated in USA. Can you imagine I mean they are set up payment wise already and have the games.

I agree and there are casinos that are on there that you can gamble and win but that's scary , I get stuff from some of them all the time.

I have wondered too , are not some of the games like Beach Babes and Bomber Girls owned by an offshore gaming platform and now they are on FB , would that not be some sort of trademark infringement or have they let them use them at a price?

Yes some are Micro Gaming I play them too and Jackpot Party... and I think the reason is and if I'm wrong I hope someone can correct me. In Europe it's legal to gamble on Facebook.
So the same games are on USA side just the payout/ play for fun only.

WB... log in and check your player's card webpage... like Harrah's and .... oh... whatever the Tunica GoldStrike belongs to (can't think right now). There should be links and further info from the players cub pages. You can build comp points, IIRC, at those and probably other Vegas player's card facebook pages by playing their games and maybe by 'liking them' or something. No idea if table games are included.

I don't have a facebook page, so can't check it out, but I remember receiving emails about it.

I think Facebook get around gambling laws by treating it as an online video game, much like World of Warcraft, where you can put money in, but can't get MONEY out. The loophole seems to be that they now offer "real world" prizes, although not money, so it's not seen as gambling.

It's as good as gambling though, because "real world" goods can be exchanged for money by selling them on eBay.

They also award free credits on a regular basis, and these too can be used to win the same prizes as those who pay, which seems another route around the gambling laws. It could present a FANTASTIC opportunity for Advantage Players, as with patience and discipline, it should be possible to win loads of prizes without parting with a cent. It's then just a question of turning the prizes into cash, for which we have eBay.

The downside is that you are sometimes bombarded with ads, often to buy extra credits which are on permanent "special offer".

They are actually using a social version of Microgaming, so if available in the US, it's a means for US players to reconnect with Microgaming slots. I love CkickFun as well as DoubleUcasino which has wheel of wealth and have been just impressed with the whole quality of the backgrounds better than most online casinos imo , Double down casino has Wolf Run , really did not care for that one tho' I know it was a favorite of Simmo's at BM casinos.

It seems like they would be backing regulated gaming in the US , it would be to their advantage imho as they have the money to lobby it !
